Shame on us? There is no shame in Christ! He takes that shame off of us on the cross. I feel like these words could sound mean spirited especially to someone who is in sin who does not know Christ. How can we win people to CHrist by shaming them. We need ot build relationships with these peope love on them show them who Jesus is and then they will be open to hear the truth. If we can take His great grace, mercy and sacrifice and trample it under our feet by continuing in sin, absolutely shame on us. But walking in purity isn’t for the lost, it’s for the saved which is who she is speaking to. Those who are lost need to hear that Christ died for sinners and if they will turn from their sin and flee to Christ for mercy and salvation, they will receive it. Now they are to walk in purity like Susan here is talking about and as we are commanded to do in His word.
