Psychologists and criminology experts analyse the personality of Donald Gaskins Jr. The man, who earned the nickname `meanest man in America', boasted about his private graveyard for victims. He was put to death in 1991 after being found guilty of nine murders, but claimed to have killed over 100.

Gaskin was a true monster. It’s an amazing thing that Shirley his daughter is such a great person and testified helping to put her father away and keep the public safe. She absolutely loved him as you can tell from this doc but even more amazing is that Shirley became a Foster parent and has helped over 100 children of all ages/backgrounds/and color. She still does to this day teaching them to hold their heads up high and never be ashamed of who they are and to allow the world to judge them on their deeds not the deeds of their parents or situations they came from. Shirley suffered because of what her father did and because people treated her badly for being his daughter but never allowed herself to change being a good person. I think she’s an example of how to be a good person and should be applauded for her good deeds considering the road blocks she faced.

I was sexually abused from 5-16 years old. Had many step-fathers some physically and mentally abusive. Relentlessly bullied at school. Had an absent father. Left alone for weeks at a time when I was under ten years old.

Body count and name of the victim is needed to backup the claim. The others was when he was younger, on different locations and on marshes. They would need to comb all those places to prove it.
Actually, a lot of killers would only be charged for a few body count or name of victim because that was the only once proven and pointed to them. But they will claim it was more than that. One serial killer I've watched was actually aiming to surpass the numbers of another killer. He counted all his killings and thought it was enough. He was satisfied about it but when the authorities counted, it was lower. So he kept saying that the numbers are wrong and they should check again but that was the only number that was proven and found to be connected to him.

It's nice to actually see this serial killer covered, especially considering I grew up in the area my entire life. My dad knew him and passed by him on a few occasions, and we're also loosely related to his family. When people talk about serial killers, they never talk about Gaskins, which is surprising considering the extent of the man's murders and just how brutal they really were. I still remember reading about how he led police into the woods and just started pointing to random spots, and each spot they dug up, they found bones. The man was twisted in many ways and easily is one of the most violent and disturbing serial killers around.

Attempted murder should have the same sentence as successful murder. Being bad at your crime doesn't minimize the crime.

She was till the end, daddy's girl. Like she says at the end he was still her dad and she'll always love her daddy.
If I recall right,Richard Kuklinski's one daughter, unlike her siblings, kept going visiting him in the prison till near the day he passed away, despite everything she had to witness at home during her childhood. She too was 'daddy's girl' and the one who could always calm Richard down.
I can't even imagine the emotional turmoil of feeling horrible about the things your parent has done yet being unable to turn off your honest love towards them in cases like Gaskings and Kuklinski. But so many ppl hate such family members of murderers and refuse to understand how someone can still care for such person, unless there's something wrong with them too..They don't wan't to accept the fact that strong enough feelings can't just be turned off like that, like from a push of a button.
If there's a book out there from her perspective as Pee Wee's daughter,I'd very much like to read it!

"That just doesn't happen". Yes it does, hack. Aggression is one of the most common symptoms of TBI. But it does mean that it's a possible cause or contributor to his behavior.

Yes! You get hit at just the right place it can totally change you. A TBI can most definitely be a contributing factor in major aggressive behavior. People who say things like "such and such just doesn't happen" really gripe my behind. We don't know now and probably never will know exactly what contributes to the making of a serial killer. My guess is that it takes a combination of several or more factors, such as single mother, prostitute mother, promiscuous mother, head injury, bullying, violent father, sexual abuse as a child, etc. The bottom line is that there is a reason for someone having an urge to kill. It doesn't just happen.

      Listen to me my friend
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:23. We are all sinners. We have all lied, or stolen, looked at women that are not our wives in a sexual way at least once before. Good deeds can't wash away what sins we have done.
"10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. 13 Their throat [is] an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps [is] under their lips: 14 Whose mouth [is] full of cursing and bitterness: 15 Their feet [are] swift to shed blood: 16 Destruction and misery [are] in their ways: 17 And the way of peace have they not known: 18 There is no fear of God before their eyes." Romans 3:10-18. We are all sinners. We all deserve to go to hell.
However, there is good news. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23. We have all sinned but since Jesus died for us and rose again, we can be saved.
If we repent and trust in Jesus alone for our salvation we shall be saved. We must forsake our sins and not be hypocrites. We will not be sinless or perfect but we will get a new heart that hates sinning and desires to live a Holy life out of love and appreciation for what Jesus did.
Repent and trust Jesus alone my friend. Trust that Jesus died for your sins, is The Son of God and rose again on the third day and now is sitting at the right hand of God.
May Jesus Bless you, open your eyes and keep you. :)

Agreed, I mean he was undoubtedly a killer and all around sociopath, there’s no evidence he was anywhere near as badass (in terms of body count) as he liked to brag. He maybe telling the truth about his “coastal kills” Im from South Carolina and in the 70’s we lived on hwy 38 in Bennettsville. That is a main route to Myrtle Beach SC. In the 70’s you saw a lot of hitchhikers heading for the SC. Coast. Most were young, probably runaways or people who had “dropped out hippy types”. If they were already “missing” and crossed paths with Gaskins then they are most likely still listed as missing over 40 years later. Most of the state is rural and the coastal regions are low lying swamp areas with alligators, quick Sand and hot humid weather for much of the year. Lots of places to get rid of a body. He had a large wooded aera in Sumter SC.that became his grave yard for many of his known victims. Who’s to say that’s his only one?

@@marilynmitchell7394 I was a young kid when all of this came to light. Donald Pee wee Gaskins was the boogeyman come to life. My maternal grandmother had a relative that married into gaskins family way back. I’m glad the connection is by marriage and not blood. Much of the crimes that are unsubstantiated came from a book that a local writer work on with Gaskins and was published after Gaskins went to the chair. Maybe he is lieing about a lot of the murders he claims to have committed but I can’t say I put it past him. This thing killed his sisters fourteen year old daughter along with her friend. Raped both before killing them and put their remains in an old septic tank at an abandoned house in a rural area. He also killed an unwed, pregnant teen mother and her two year old child because he disliked the fact that the baby was biracial. Oh and he did abuse the baby before killing her. These are actual know victims. Gaskins went for years allowing his sister to grieve her daughter who to her was missing. He gave up the location of her remains to escape the death penalty. He was not put to death for any of the murders committed outside of prison. He was put to death for killing a inmate on death row. This death row inmate had killed an elderly couple who ran a store in Myrtle Beach SC. In a robbery. The murdered couples son hired Gaskins to kill him. Gaskins was made a trustee at the prison and established a friendship with the death row inmate. After several failed attempts he finally killed him with explosives that gaskins somehow obtained. Gaskins also managed to get a tape recorder and taped the conversation with the murdered couples son and was planning to blackmail him. It was these tapes that sealed his fate and he got the death penalty for murdering an inmate on death row. Maybe he lied maybe he didn’t. He may have told the truth and took a lot more with him to the grave.

Shirley seems to have done something to help make her survive (remember she's an only child). She has learned to compartmentalize this horror. On one hand he's her father - she loves him, knows the part of him he showed her as best as He allowed. The other compartment is this monster - responsible for all these crimes and probably more. When she talks about the monster, she appears detached but you can detect how this all sounds unbelievable to her, almost incomprehensible like she's talking about someone else or living the horror. Through all this she still has an innocence and true remorse for the friends, acquaintances who are gone. He father burdened her with all this information, so by her sharing I believe it helps her to cope and accept. Keeping a secret this big would probably destroy those with a conscious - she is surviving. I truly wish her peace. :)
