    I was able to audition the A2A and the A4A at a Magnolia shop since I'm looking to get that Dolby Atmos height virtualization feature. Seeing how the A4A is built like tank I was assuming I would notice the difference in sound quality compared to the A2A. Though to my shock I could barely hear the difference between A4A and the A2A. The A4A had a slight more base but it wasn’t that noticeable. had the guy play the same scene of the movie we were demoing just to make sure my ears weren't fooling me. but yea they almost sounded the same. after i left the shop I dug further if A4A had similar capacitors to the A2A and to my surprise they have the same 10,000uf capacitors just different DACs, A2A has Burr Brown and A4A Saber DACs. For me if I was looking to getting a Aventage receiver and strapped for cash I'd grab the A2A since both sonically sound almost identical to each other. Only reason to get A4A would be for more HDMI inputs.

    As with most "reviews" that are done without really knowing what the receiver settings do .., it was pretty lame. the yamaha V6A doesn't have Dolby vision (he didn't need it) and is a 7.1/100w/channel receiver ...can get it refub for $388.

      the point is the power supply on the A2A is much better, accounts for the weight of the machine.

    Its my first try to build a sound system for Music and Gaming.What i would like to ask is,can i connect the PC via USB to an Musical Fidelity V90-DAC that connects to the Yamaha RX-A2A receiver by RCA and from the receiver as outputs 2 front speakers Yamaha NS-BP401 and one Subwoofer Yamaha NS-SW300. Is there anything wrong on this setup? What is your opinion sir? :)

    I just was hoping you knew a little bit more of the other settings for the amp, and I have a yamaha mx 600 amp that I want to use for the main front speakers but I don't think it has a signal on port

    You think the Yamaha is cheap looking on the outside you take the covers off and they are definitely well-made on the inside

    Do you know how to create presets? I see a preset button on the remote but can’t seem to find info on how to use it.

    Did you have to go back and tweak the levels or did the receiver get it right?

      Minimal tweaking. Got it pretty close.

    I have a 5.0 setup in the bedroom with the Yamaha TSR-700 (RX-V6A) 7.2. It sounds really good for a $500 reviewer, but I really hate Yamaha's UI

    • @Upscaled_HT
      @Upscaled_HT  10 месяцев назад

      I can’t argue with that. The ui is not the best.

    Have they fixed the hdmi board on this model? So it actually plays 4k @ 120, or was this model not affected?

      I wouldn’t say it’s useless, but it would measure the distance and set levels

    I have a Music Hall USB-1 turntable and two Tascam CD player/recorders that I used to record CDs and play CDs with my old A/V receiver. Can I connect both Tascams and the Music Hall USB-1 turntable?

    Why do you have to turn the volume all the way up to about 30 to hear comfortable it goes from -80 to 16 i think

    The Denon AVRs display the audio codecs like DD, DTS, DTS HD MA, DOLBY TRUE HD, does Yamaha RX-A2A depicts this info on its display panel ?

    I also have a Yamaha RX-A2A --I recently lost the settings on the device, and in reconfiguring it from scratch I am no longer see the "Dolby Atmos" message on the front panel when I am playing Atmos content. Any idea what drives this display?

    • @Upscaled_HT
      @Upscaled_HT  10 месяцев назад +1

      I rarely look at the front panel since the receiver is downstairs. I would keep looking in the main menu but if all else fails, try resetting it to factory settings and see if it comes back. Also, check your connections and reboot any device hooked up to it.

    God, do I HATE the aesthetics of the newer Yamaha AVRs -- it makes a LOT of sense to make the volume knob gigantic and slap it in the middle of the panel while making the much more important display tiny off to the upper right....
    Who actually DESIGNS these things? And I absolutely HATE the lack of a real aluminum face on these units....the shiny plastic just screams cheap.
    On a side note: I was a diehard Onkyo fan and wanted to replace my TX-SR605 with a newer unit, but those dopes that design these things for Onkyo (and Pioneer, Integra and Klipsch) removed the awesome IntelliVolume feature and also did away with the front display showing the actual surround mode you're in. That's a deal breaker for me.
    Looking at a Denon now.

      Mine is stuck in a closet so I never really see it. I get it though. You have to go with what you like and what you’ll enjoy the most.

      @@Upscaled_HT I hear you; appreciate the video at any rate. I happen to keep my gear in the open in a big entertainment center that houses our TV as well, and I like to look at my stuff as it's working, so aesthetics are important to me.
      As always, different strokes for different folks.

      I totally agree , it’s practically a deal breaker for me, as I much prefer the old Yamaha . I have an anthem avm 60 pre pro , and I love the minimalist design . Looks like a solid black brick of brushed aluminum . I’m thinking the internals of the Yamaha may make up for it though

    Thank you

    Oh baby Jesus 😂...just leave the silly Cyclops alone and invest in something that actually works like a marantz onkyo or Denon. This Yamaha is just a cheap looking piece of plastic which has much functionality as a chocolate teapot ... actually they have some functionality, you can at least eat them 😅😂😅😂😅
