A Beautiful bike just got mine about a year ago in blue for peanuts on ebay and it needed some TLC so resprayed the tank Blue (some muppet had put a red one on looked like a boil ! ) repaired damaged bottom fairing and resprayed to correct colour ffrom black to silver . This is the bike i have wanted to own for 25 years now finally got it and it purrs
Thanks for the great video. A subtle difference on my 2002 Katana: the main fairing has a patent on the front, below the headlights, that also has to be removed, it's tricky to see.
Nice and informative, thank you,
I'm hoping this will be the same or similar to the 02 750f I'm about to buy
Any videos on the rear plastics removal?
Post more katana videos
I have about 5gb of footage that I had ready to turn into videos before youtube changed their advertising policies that made it not worthwhile creating new content. Because I don't get 4000 hours of views per month I (and many others) were dropped from the adsense programme, while things like reaction videos were promoted. After 10 years of making videos I was through with making them for nothing. Thanks for watching though.
can u remove front fender fairing without removing wheel
I cant find a way to remove the seat. Ive looked on many forums and none worked
There should be a keyhole on the left side of the bike under the seat. Uses the ignition key to release and just lift the seat.
@@TBFmedia about 3 days later or 5 min after i commented this i found it and face palmed because it was right infront of me. Is there a safety sequence to get this bike to turn over? Ex. Have to pull in clutch to start it? Do all the lights need to be plugged in as well?
@@stylze5767 If the side stand is down it definitely needs to be in neutral. I can't remember if you need to have the clutch pulled in or not, but pull it in while you work that out. Turn key to on, press ignition button, give it a little gas (turn on choke if it's cold - it's the slider switch by the thumb controls. If the side stand is down the engine will cut out if you try to put it in gear.
considering removing the fairings for good, the bike kind of looks better without them
Ehh, not really worth it because you have to fit new mirrors and new turn signals. The headlamp looks quite ugly naked, so you would want to fit a new one. Problem is, you'll have to make your own mount to fit aftermarket gauges (speedo, tach. etc,.). You'll have to fiddle with the wiring harness to make it compatible with LED blinkers. Also, mirrors are a big issue with a streetfighter build. There's not enough space on the stock clip-ons to fit mirrors. The bars aren't hollow, so you can't just stick in bar-ends; you'll have to drill them out, or just swap the bars. Most Katana naked builds don't have mirrors on them for that reason! In my opinion, it's a lot easier to just buy a Bandit. Check out the channel "Suzuki Katana Mechanic" for more details about the process of building his naked Katana. Cheers.
