A little hint for you. Soften your squash in the micro or toaster oven or regular oven. Makes it easier to slice. I slice mine the opposite way, not long ways. Round circles about 2" thick and roast. It gets much better spaghetti type strings than long ways. That's why I soften mine before slicing. I've cut myself to many times not softening it first!
Love all the meals you fix and that you keep your kids pantry stocked as well. You'd be a great home economics teacher! If only I'd had a teacher as good as you. I've learned so much and I'm 63!

Mr. John Wayna is so sweet to go to the store for you.
We use to kill hogs and I would make homemade sausage, it’s the best when you make your own spice blend. I also made the cures for the hams and hung them in the smokehouse to smoke. Used to do that the day after Thanksgiving, but the weather hasn’t really been cold enough and we had to wait closer to Christmas.

PS. I keep a plastic or rubber mallet in my kitchen exclusively to use on my cleaver or knife for cutting hard-shell items such as squash. A few taps on the back of the knife gets it started, and the mallets are washable.

    Great video.
Let me tell you something if I may. I learned to make a pie crust when my ex mother in law finally gave me her pie crust recipe made with crisco and I could not figure out why the crust tasted bland and not good. Seriously I thought I’d messed up. Years & years later ( I was in my 20’s way back when). I finally found out it wasn’t me. Crisco is just bad period and taste nasty to begin with. Then I discovered on RUclips using real butter. Let me tell you it’s a night and day difference. All butter pie crust taste good period. But in my 20’s I did not no much and since my ex mother in law was a good cook I just thought she new what she was doing. Tho my mother in law never helped me much. She wasn’t about to help me learn to cook and my mom was average not bad not good at cooking .
But, determined as I was I finely got the hang of cooking and worked in 2 military day cares and one was in the kitchen where I learned about cooking from scratch.
Then along came RUclips and I am thankful for RUclips because I’ve learned so much.
    Thank you for the videos.
    We’ll you live and learn.

BE careful giving chickens to many seeds; they'll get balled up, seen it happen. RIP Alert!

I heard that the seeds were a good de wormer for chickens. I won't give them anymore if it is bad for them. Thanks for the info.

So glad I’m not the only one who has hit the thumbs down by accident. Like you, once I realized that my eyes/brain/both betrayed me I felt awful and frantically went on a clicking spree reversing thumbs. 😂
