How on earth can Disney not pull out the money for a 4K di?
WH250398 It’s also a manner of time. Marvel films have tons of CGI, so a 4K DI requires all VFX to be rendered at 4K, all assets to be authored at higher resolutions. Requires more money and a hell lot more time. Disney does not seem to really want to give that extra time (with the exception of Lucasfilm, all of their releases this decade have had 4K DIs)
Who cares? The only thing that matters is if it looks great.
I picked this up the week it was released. I usually wait until you review it..but you were incognito lol. I was pretty pleased the way it looked. Although I've never seen this movie (please dont ask because I dont know) lol. I waited for this 4k release. NO RAGRETS
Nice review man. I saw Ant Man in Dolby in theatres and I didnt notice much "Atmos" in the sound either. When I got my 3D copy, it was very stellar (and I also have a projector). I'm not in a hurry with 4k, and if I went there, it'll likely be for gaming first. Ant Man is one of those movies though, that even for a conversion, which legitimizes 3D being around.
I'm collecting all the 4k discs for the marvel movies, but 3D is still my preferred way to watch them. At least for anything after Gaurdians of the Galaxy.

It depends on the TV that you own, LG OLED preferably and if the movie is real 4k or just an upscaled 2k to 4k movie.

4K always, I appreciate your zest for the 3D transfers and I'm sure they are great (if you can stomach them). Sadly, 3D makes me ill and I find the glasses too distracting.

This movie is incredible. A ton of fun with brilliant action and hilarious dialogue this is another fantastic win for Marvel. Paul Rudd plays a likable and charismatic hero who really makes you root for him and his goals. Michael Pena is the real heist of this film as he steals every scene that he is in. Corey Stoll as the villain was a fantastic choice from Marvel. He can play the corporate business man and an intimidating villain. The visuals are stunning in this film. All of the tiny ant scenes are visually outstanding and hilarious. The are two post credit scenes which are fantastic and really tie into the larger universe. Ant Man is a fantastic movie which is worth your money and I suggest that you see it in cinemas. 4kmovies co

He doesn't use a TV he uses a Sony native 4k projector.

This is rrrreally nitpicky from me. But there are very minor black bars with 1.85:1 aspect ratio movies.
Only on the Digital version. With the disc, it fills the whole screen. This one and the first Avengers are like that.

My thoughts are that is a poor film and the hfr makes the film look really strange..the 3d was very good however with no cross talk.. sometimes the digital will smith looked great but towards the very end he looked very fake ..watched it in orlando last night

If that's the case on your TV, then you might want to fix your settings, there should be black bars on the top and bottom, just not as big as a movie in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio.
Would it make you happy if I said it has tiny black bars.

Yeah, 3d is almost dead in Australia. I was never that impressed with 3d so im glad it is almost dead here at my cinemas.

You shouldn't be glad that it almost dead were you live some people love 3D it just not for you.
Some films are incredible in 3D. Gravity, when I watched it in the cinema, was one of my top 5 movie experiences ever. It truly felt like you were floating up there in space with them, and so convincing that my fear of heights kicked in and I was holding on to the seat as it felt like I could fall to earth or float off into oblivion! On an average TV you’ll never get that immersion, but the best 3D projected on a big screen can be awe-inspiring. The Walk is another example of a film that has to be seen in 3D.
@@RKoen2006 That's true, But 3d used to take up most of the screening at my movie theatres. So im happy in that regards that I don't need to worry now. But yes for those who enjoy it. I hope theres places for them to enjoy it.
i watch endgame in 3D. and it was worse movie experience of my life. wish i had watch it in normal 2D.

4K is actually getting alot bigger, in fact Warner just announced the 4k of the Lord of the rings and the Hobbit movies are coming to the format in July 2020 . And Warner would not polish these classics up for a whole remaster and 4K transfer if they did not see the profit margin to be worth it for movies of this Calibur. I would not be surprised to see Samsung start to make 4k players in the USA and Canada again and with the announcement that Sony will be putting a 4k player in the PS5 and Microsoft in the Xbox 2. And apple is pushing the format big time in the apple 4k box with Dolby vision also getting a big push from apple and Netflix as well. 4k TV's are also flying off shelves ... The format is just getting warmed up , watch out ,)

3D in cinema was ok I guess, except for the headache and itchy glasses. But watching 3D movies on a tv was a horrible experience. Not impressive at all. And not comfortable. I guess it’s not for everybody.
Mar Rastapopoulos I would think that perhaps the TV you watched it on had something to do with it. I tried to buy an extra TV used from someone, and realized that it was trash compared to my own, even with the same company SONY. My TV also uses active glasses, which I think are better since you can tilt your head to the side without changing the quality of the 3D experience.
