You're my go-to reviewer for movies because of your Atmos viewer. It's a gamechanger that you're able to tell us whether movies have a static or dynamic Atmos mix. Most other reviewers are almost always saying a movie has a good Atmos mix just because there's sound coming out of the upper speakers. But you're able to tell us the quality of the Atmos soundtrack, which helps me decide whether to use the Auromatic upmixer or not. So thanks for your work and don't' ever get rid of the Atmos viewer! =)
It sucks that digital is 4 weeks before the physical release. IMO, the delay is the biggest dagger in physical media.
I had no worries about this
even though it's a MCU film it's still a Sony Pictures production and they always deliver imo when it comes to 4K Blu-ray
The image was definitely on the softer side at times… the audio is where this movie shines.

Wow, it’s been a year and I still remember feeling so pumped when I got my Amazon UK exclusive steelbook! The picture quality is hella dope despite it being a 2K DI, but it looked even better when I got my Dolby Vision TV!!
Sony releases are often sound incredible. This does not disappoint!

Yea. Sad. I love my 3D TV. But most 3D movies in disc are more depth than in your face (Life of Pi, Journey to Centre of the Earth, are really good in your face ones) and I can't justify $100.00 for Shang-Chi 3D.

I'm glad I saw this movie twice in 3D then! Saw it in 2D the 3rd time at the theaters and it's still engaging, emotional, fun, etc.
Shot in 4.5K with a 2K DI.

The 2k DI is because of cgi. The cgi isn't rendered at 4.5k. If the movie had a DI @ 4.5k, the cgi would stand out too much. This is often done when films have alot of cgi.
Sure it does when the majority of the movie was shot in front of the green screen

I still didn't see this movie yet but I will be buying it on blu ray and I can't wait to get it and I heard it was a good movie too and I cant not wait to see it so excited for it since I didn't see it in theaters I never had the opportunity to watch it but I cant wait to buy it once it comes out next month and 6 days before my birthday when this movie comes out on blu ray and on 4K Ultra HD too

Hmm, well I ordered this off of Amazon, back in early 2022, so I will be excited to try it after I get it… note: this maybe the first movie I listen to with my full Atmos home theater…, though I hope to buy a Dolby vision tv, in the coming year or two, but that will depend on how well everyone likes the x95k, and if the lack of vrr, or I should say lack of local dimming is a big deal, when gaming on a series x…

Just watched it in my theater last night. I was THOROUGHLY impressed. Especially with the Atmos and LFE on the final action scene. And the visuals and HDR on Spidey's suit on the closing scene was drop dead gorgeous! 9/10 well deserved.
I saw it in theaters on the day of release and really enjoyed it. Picked up the 4k disc today, cant wait to rewatch it at home tonight!

So mad Disney have the full screen IMAX versions of the Marvel movies on Disney plus. Are they going to release them on disc in the future? I'm so confused what is the correct aspect ratio to watch? Could you possibly do a video about this in the future?
This one (and Far From Home) have their IMAX versions on the Sony TV exclusive Bravio Core app
Also, they're both correct. I like the filling aspect of the IMAX, but at the same time, most of the scenes don't truly need it. It gives more empty space in a lot of the none action scenes. They're formatted for cinemascope with IMAX as an optional thing
Tom Holland's Spider-Man may be in the MCU but his Spider-Man movies has nothing to do with Disney, Sony only lets them barrow Spider-Man

Super bummed there is no IMAX ratio. It looked fantastic in full IMAX and leaves me scratching my head because Sony has been labeling their physical media as IMAX Enhanced, yet does not include an actual IMAX enhanced ratio…???
Digital never has IMAX versions. Look at Christopher Nolan movies on digital as examples. Yet 4K discs are different in that aspect.
Love your channel, haven't watched it yet but given the thumbs up. Regardless of what you say I'm getting this movie because Spidey is my favourite and having all 3 on the screen was freaking awesome.

I’m intrigued, you say it has a 2K DI (digital intermediate?) which seems to imply that this disc is upscaled from 2K, not 4K?
It's Upscaled from 2K DI source. The 4K Blu-ray
@@abeachristine5446 Surprising a film of this calibre and in this time still mastering their films at 2K, when the shoot 4K or higher. I guess that's cheaper, faster and easier for the amount of digital effects they have to work with. Feels a bit like false advertising in a way.
The bass was weak in theaters and on the digital version.I have 2 subs in my system so that shouldn't be an issue.

ITunes are doing this, Spider-Man Homecoming, and Far from Home, for £25.00. All in 4K and Atmos sound. Not quite disc quality. But £25.00. Pretty cheap
Having no IMAX aspect ratio is a major disappointment.
They have the IMAX release on Sony’s Bravia Core service. I used a credit for it. It’s great. Only down side is no Atmos. Only IMAX DTS.
@@ctingulz that sucks. I don't want to buy a Sony TV just to enjoy this movie in it's true form. If Sony made OLED TVs with good gaming features then I would buy one. But LG is beating them on that front.
I saw it in imax and have a 16:9 fixed frame screen at home and just really wish I could watch it in that aspect ratio :(

Sony stopped 3D Bluray production in the end of 2019.
@@ShreyTyagi you are correct but they have been licensing releases here lately in Australia to Random Space Media. Juamnji the Next Level and Hotel Transylvania 3 are available through them and Dolittle releases in April of this year in 3D
hate how Disney doesn't give it the imax shots for most of their marvel films.

You're so lucky you got it in for review! This is my favorite "MCU" movie by far. Saw it 3 times in the theater and rate it a 5/5, the perfect Spider-Man movie for me. Gave me everything I ever wanted out of one. I would use your link to pre-order it (it'll be a day one purchase for me) but I want the Walmart cover. Too bad the Video sounds like it's a bit of a disappointment.

@@kampfkoloss there’s a difference between streaming and 4k Blu rays. The only exception is Sonys Bravia Core streaming service since they stream movies that are 4k Blu ray quality.
Did you get the Blu-Ray early? Because it was leaked and people sold it on eBay.

STILL, Sony keeps crushing it with the MCU Spider-man movies on 4k-blu ray in all of the ways that the other MCU movies ( though 2008 "The Incredible Hulk" was a very solid upgrade) should be delivering. Disney should be taking notes. In the past they've done some terrific transfers both DVD and Blu-ray, I mean what is going on Disney??!!!

Your 4k hdr bluray reviews are just GOLD ❤️👏. Each and everything is spot on. Btw that hdr is possible the greatest & most people won't be able to actually experience it as the max content light level is whopping 9900+cd/m2.
Does this mean Disney Atmouse is starting to out some effort in the soundtrack? They are still behind but with as many action and superhero movies they do, they need to up their game and every movie should have 9.5 audio or more, no excuses

Luckily I get to watch it in 4K HDR IMAX on Bravia Core on my SonA90J. 80 Mbps purestream feed makes it better than the disc.
Actually no. Discs can get up to 100 Mbps, granted I haven’t seen any go higher than 85, but you’re seeing placebo lol. The Sony Bravia core is on par with 4k Blu rays, it’s not possible to be better because the streaming service can’t read a made up speed the movie doesn’t support.

Digital intermediate, and 2K resolution means it's in 1080p or 1440p I think, definitely not where native 4K is, 2160p
oh yes, I had to score spider man no way home is a movie like this. I think its a great Spider-Man movie, but really very good MCU movie. The first "Guardians of the Galaxy" is still a rare great MCU movie in my book.

Easy Majority of the Movie are in Heavy Usage CGI and VFX.
Rendering in Movie with Heavy Usage of CGI and VFX is Very Long in 4K and look digitally soft. And CGI and VFX are very noticable in 4K.

Saw the movie yesterday. Let's just say I am glad I skipped watching it in theatre. The more I try make sense of the plot the more my head hurts. Total Garbage. Only okay scenes were with Tobey and Andrew. And in my opinion they totally wasted them. The whole Gwen ending of TASM2 is more emotionally satisfying then the entirety of this Tom Holland trilogy.

I skipped the Aunt May death scene cause it was so cheesy. Compare this to the death of Uncle Ben in previous two iterations. It has way more depth than this shallow Aunt may in new film. Aunt may in previous films were well rounded characters. This aunt may was just pathetic. Even Marisa Tomei felt relieved that she finally can leave these crappy films behind her after this crapfest. Seriously in previous two films aunt may didn't show any sense of morality and out of the blue she cares for all these pshycos? And what happens to all the villains once they get back to their realities? They live happily after with their Spidermans? If you consider this movie canon then it ruins the conclusions of the previous Spiderman films. God this is such an aweful film.
