Absolutely love the message in this video ! It's way too easy to make excuses not to go outside one's comfort zone, not to learn or just not trying something new. But having the motivation to start, the courage to keep going every day and the wits to use an activity you love to push you forward, this is the true talent ! Thanks for taking time to make this video, it helps in keeping confidence that goals aren't unattainable :)
@@LinLinLavender Thanks :)) I'm trying to learn Korean, because I love watching k-dramas 😅 When I successfully understand or read one word in a serie, I'm so happy ! That's the small pleasures that keep me going and give confidence ! 😋 So I understand 100% what you put in your video !!
This video is so good!! I watched it together with my sister. We are both starting to learn Japanese and your video is very motivating to study! My Japanese level is still beginner and I still rely heavily on Google Translate to play otome games in Japanese. But one day I want to have the courage to gradually stop using Google Translate and look up the kanji while playing. :)
Thank you 😊 I mean if you never dare to look up kanji, how do you expect to learn them? But of course it's a trade off between quickly being kissed and taking your time to look up words 😆 Good luck to you two ✨
@@LinLinLavender Thank you!! Yes I'm so anxious to being kissed it's hard to stop to learn kanji hahaha! But it's for a greater good, so I should do that from now on!! ^_^
This video really pumped up my motivation! I'm not learning Japanese but Mandarin (I will apply the principles laid out for my own language learning journey) and I'm really grateful you put out this video!
I love how encouraging you are about learning other languages by combining your interests and repetition. I've always wanted to play otome games in Japanese and took Japanese for about a year in college nearly a decade ago. I pretty much gave up on the idea after my Japanese professor advised the only way I'd become fluent is by moving to Japan, and I had no intention of doing that. Naturally, I've forgotten most of what I've learned except basic hiragana, katakana, and several basic phrases, but watching this has inspired me not to ever give up on the idea of reading Japanese to play video games. Thank you for making this video!
Thank you for your comment! It makes me so happy to hear I was able to motivate you again! Sometimes teachers can be very discouraging, I don't know why they would say something like that...everyone has a different learning style, so it's just about finding yours and sticking to it. You can do it!!
Thank you for this inspiring video! I'm starting with 9RIP as my first otome in Japanese and part of me wonders if I'm not ready for it, that it's too early for me, etc etc. But I'll try even if it takes me 200 hours! Yay for dictionaries!
That was really beautiful and inspirational! ❤ I definitely have the fear and feeling like a failure mindset a lot even though actually I've had a lot of progress, in all my goals not just Japanese. It's good to remember your accomplishments and realizing that yes you can do those things. I feel like I'll watch this video several times probably as a reminder whenever I feel like I can't. I'm still always impressed with your focus though lol no matter the language my brain refuses to focus on the same thing for more than an hour or two, even if I'm at a really good part of a game or book the brain is like "well, we're done now"🤣
Thank you ❤️ I think most of us tend to have a failure mindset, because we're told so... Why not take a break then? Concentration is a muscle. And get back after a 15 minute break. Or of course just accept that and move on! No need to force yourself
@@LinLinLavender That's true, I could probably train it if I tried. For now I've just accepted the chaos of doing a different hobby once my brain stops focusing on one so I'm hopping between them all the time xD
Such a good video! Thank you for sharing! That's a very good way to look at learning language. I also look up kanji several times. I'm redoing my entire N5 course. Because exposure and repetition help refresh my mind. Thank you for nurturing a positive community for us to learn and giggle about 2D hubandos ❤
1:09 ahahaha gosh this is me also I like how you put the reaction here that yeay final 1 complicated word understand XD those tips are cute I lost interest in learning because I no longer know what to do with it I don't watch anime I don't play games I even can't find real Japanese people wanna chat with me in JP so... sayonara Japanese language for who wanna learn using Otome game I tell its worth !!! i am one who did that and I stepped forward better than book
Can you talk more about PC otome games? I noticed Voltage have started putting their titles on Steam, and I want to know if there are more good PC ones out there, or even some that were exclusive to consoles but are now available for PC players
I would - if I played more PC games...I at least made a little video about Voltage games and PC indie games, if that's interesting for you I don't think there are many PC exclusives, which aren't indie games Do you have any recommendations?
Probably! I've been reading a few books in Japanese which definitely gives me tons of book vocab! But...there is just nothing superior to game anki cards with hot men and hot voices - so I'm not sure yet 🤣
Some have more furigana than others, but I don't know an otome will all furigana I think furigana games are mostly aimed at little kids, that's why But as long as you can draw the kanji on your phone it shouldn't be a big problem! Good luck!
Thank you so much for the inspiring video. The fear of not knowing every single kanji when I’m reading is a struggle but I’m finally ready to jump back into it now! Otome games are definitely my biggest motivator 🥹
I'm really glad you're feeling that way! I wasn't sure whether this video would be able to motivate anyone, but if it's reached you, then I'm really happy about it 🥰 Good luck!! I know, otome games are by far the best recourse for me too 😁
Just found myself in kind of a slump with my studies, so this video came out at just the right time🥹 Thank you for always encouraging us hehe💛 Your videos never fail to make me smile ^^
learning through resources that you love or interested is really powerful!
