- In this video I am going to further develop my alternate art styles! The art styles we are developing today are my anti-style, hyper-style, and chibi elf stye! I'm going to be playing around with proportions, rendering and shadings, as well as creating my own custom watercolor brush in Clip Studio Paint!

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR CHARACTER

If you would like to submit your OC there are a few ways you can submit it.
1: Send it to l2dmdrawmyoc@gmail.com. (l2dm = L2DM)
Please include the word "OC" or "Original Character" in the subject of the email so I know it's an original character.
2: You can submit it on Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #l2dmdrawmyoc. In your post/email you need to tell me a little about the character. Like their name, age, personality, and so on.
3. In your post or email please tell me a decent amount about the character like their name, age, personality, likes, dislikes, anything you feel like I should know to be able to make an illustration of them! Also, please have your character be on a plane white background it makes things easier for me.
Common Questions:
Can I submit more than one character: Yes, but I will only pick one.
Can I submit again if I've submitted in the past: Yes, and I recommend it!
Can I submit via RUclips video/short: Yes, but I often don't pick from those submissions because there are so few of them. If you do make sure to use the hashtag
Currently there is no deadline, but the sooner you get your character in the better.

I really like how the Anti style turned out!! Also I have an idea for your hyper style. For black hair maybe don't use black but a really dark shade of a colour, like blue or purple. I feel like this would make the colours pop more.

Yes! Many animes do that, especially if they're going for a realistic story with no crazy hair but want the art style to look cute anyway :3
You should do the challenge where your ocs “draw” themselves! I have 3 characters that are artists and it’s really interesting figuring out what type of art style they would have.

Some things I thought about for your chibi elf style -- one artist that would be fun to look up inspiration and reference for is Beatrix Potter! Not only are her children's book paintings absolutely lovely, but she was also a scientist who contributed a lot to the advancement of mycology (the study of mushrooms)! Also to make the style look less clean, you could try limiting the amount of layers you use, or even do the entire process with just one layer, to help replicate the traditional drawing experience. There are lots of cool tutorials out there for how to make your digital art look like authentic traditional watercolor in CSP too!

For the watercolor texture: don’t underestimate how much a cold-press watercolor paper texture can add to the effect. I usually set a picture of cold-press as a texture off of the CSP asset store. Settings: 50% soft light
You can also set this to an auto action to save time :)

I have a question for the oc submitions, are we allowed to submit gacha characters even if this technically isn't a drawing ur gacha characters thing? Bc I don't really have any drawings of my oc's- I only have gacha characters of all of em :
Question for submitting a character: can it be gacha or does it have to be drawn? (Cuz sadly I can't really draw so I use gacha instead😅)

try having thicker lineart! it will give a softer feeling, and because the style for your chibi elf style is chibi, it will help it look cuter.

The coloring for Pariah and your anti style were both amazing! I love the watercolor texture, it definitely makes things look looser and more natural. I think the more saturated colors work beautifully for your ani-style, the way you added highlights kept the impact of the lineart without compromising saturation.
I really loved the chibi elf style, it's so cute!! I'm interested in trying a watercolor style too !

You were talking about how you were going to stylize Pariah's (I hope I'm spelling that right) world, and I just thought it would be really cool if you had forests of grass and mushrooms as some of the settings. The moss idea is super cool, too. But the grass forest idea came to my mind, and I thought it would be some interesting food for thought. I also want to say that I've been watching your channel for a long time and have always loved your videos. You inspire me so much, and it's amazing to see how far you've come!

For the hyper-style, how about making the boy's shoulders slightly more wider to balance it out? It's what i usually do for teen-to-adult male characters in my art style.
Or alternately, you could also make the body a bit wider to the belly instead. It would make their silhouettes look more similarly balanced with the other female characters.
But regardless what you do i love the new direction you're taking with your art styles!! Looking forward to the next video

I love how you make challenges of drawing characters in different styles it’s kinda hard to explain but yeah I love how you do that! Also I have to say thank you for posting videos to teach people how to draw better because it really helped me! 😊❤🎉
One thing I like to do / have done when I notice it’s getting hard to draw loose is to either set a timer, like having five or ten minutes to do one sketch (as expressive, not clear, as possible) and them moving on to do another. That, or I like using my sketches as Lineart a lot, but with the way you work I don’t think that’d be a good tip^^’

I love the idea of you drawing our ocs in one of your alternate styles! Also something i think would be interesting to experiment with in your hyper/anti style is different bodytypes (eg muscular, plus sized etc) because i feel like both those styles mostly have your characters with very long lanky limbs
