it’s devolved into an arbitrary rule set favoring the passive and honestly more lazy practitioner. dropping to your ass is great when you don’t have any standup game and the rule set penalizes the person standing if they don’t attempt to pass. we get it takedowns are hard and not for the lesser of us.
Why do boxers don't kick their opponent or don't try to wrestle them? Why do wrestlers don't try punch their opponent? Because of the rules of the given sport
ten jiu jitsu guys kill 10 wrestlers grappling, every wrestler watching their comrades be murdered go "but you can't wrestle" as their wrestler friends are literally killed in grappling combat
I dunno about that. Depends on the surface I think. If a wrestler slams a grappler as hard as they can on concrete the grappler is probably dead. The grappler probably won't be able to stop a wrestler from that initial takedown > slam, assuming they are both at say high skill level and don't cross train etc. If they happen to be fighting on grass, then I'd say grappler will win.
@@kovaji8212 here's why you're wrong- wrestlers learn jiu jitsu once they've mastered wrestling, the jiu jitsu guys aren't different than wrestlers, they're wrestlers with more- they learned how to choke and tear joints apart
@@nieljohnson7943 are you saying a BJJ practitioner will be as good at wrestling as a dedicated wrestler? how? imagine a D1 wrestler who wrestled through HS and college. you think a random BJJ person will be as good at wrestling as them? don't get me wrong, I like BJJ, I train BJJ, but that seems silly. I'll give an example, have you seen Rampage's infamous powerbomb on Arona in Pride FC? Yeah imagine if that was on concrete. I'm not saying wrestling is better, but a talented wrestler slamming you on the ground can be an instant win.
@@kovaji8212 No that is not what I was implying, don't be ridiculous. I'm saying olympic gold medal wrestlers go to Jiu Jitsu when they want to fight for real, it is the best wrestlers that know for a fact that Jiu Jitsu is the way to being able to actually fight, I'm not for one or the other, I'm for both its just wrestling is for kids, minors- and then sports with submissions, you know ADCC, IBJJF are for actual fighters
As a muay thai fighter I have no idea how people enjoy watching or practicing this, seems like such a bore man
My dojo does Muay Thai along Bjj and we do throws and takedowns wich is more entertaining to do and watch then Mr. Buttscooter

When fighting becomes a hobby it is no longer fighting. This is a display of rules.
It's not a fight. it's a fun hobby, we have to get to work the next day. It's a game, not a battle to the death.
nobody said it was a fight

Why do they just lay down on there back and wave there legs in the air. What an earth is that.
Learn about bjj you will understand.

lol he’s not stalling - he’s playing guard and it’s an essential part of bjj. The other dude couldn’t pass for several mins - that’s on him
Steve Wonder is the one who won this match

Please, chill down with the editing of you talking, no need to keep rushing what you say, just speak normally bro😂, but great video
I’m used to making short form videos so I have a habit of talking really quickly 😂, thanks for the feedback though 👍
