Seriously your breakdowns are leagues above most channels. Too many "breakdowns" are just a narration of the sequence of events and never get into WHY. You've given a lot of insight here.
This video altered my brain chemistry bc I’ve never had success with tripod passing, I watched this today and then had some of my best tripod passes ever. That small detail of the shin across the hips when working your way to mount is such a game changer too. This is why everything halts when a new LIMI video drops 😂
You can hit an inside trip from any tie up. Underhook is just usually preferred bc you’ll already be in close to your opponent if you’re doing it right
Dude this video is way more concise in terms of language than your other ones, I love it. I hear the Greg souders in you coming out. I have to improve my content now man thank you for your hard work.
That rear naked choke portion blew me away. I have Gordon’s back escape instructional, he taught keeping a high elbow to prevent them from being able to trap the arm, but I completely forgot about how much more structurally sound it is compared to a low elbow grip. Switching that to an offensive situation, obviously it makes sense to push the elbow down to weaken the structure before going for the kill. I love this sport. 🤯
Thanks for the great vid again, all I took from this match was changing from under the arm wrist control to over the arm before rnc and that alone increased my finish rate. Thanks to this far more detailed analysis I can steal more moves from my fav grappler🔥
The under hook means he can put weight on the opposite side leg. So you get weight on the foot that you trip to get the takedown. Inside trip is ouchi gari in judo.
The inside trip comes from an over/under usually in wrestling with the trip being to the overhook side. So if you have an underhook only, if you get weight on to the opposite leg you can still go for the trip. Watch Adam Saitiev, he use an underhook to punch but also use his free hand to pull. Like a double it’s insane
Other than this video and the database, what is the best instructional or resource for high tripod passing? Insanely good stuff on grip fighting from the back. Game changing.
Rob Biernacki's style of "tripod passing" requires a lot less flexibility, but it is almost a completely different type of "tripod" passing. The "tripod" more like kneecut camp passing with a lot of head pressure under their chin to keep their back flat. I'd like to get a better feel for how the two versions of "tripod" passing compliment each other.
Chan got exposed against Tyes' average performance. Needs way more wrestling, needs to convert guard to some sort of offense that scores, needs to loosen up. Stiff as a board. Maybe in 3-4 years he'll be top level.

Which Craig instructional was that entry into saddle from?
Jozef is really the future of this sport. His guard retention against Tye Ruotolo deserves analysis video as well.
Yeah really good. We will see!
@@LIMIBJJjust an analysis of that match in general would be awesome

You need the overlook on the side you trip to stay balanced. If you have an underhook you can get swept on the other side.

Jozef has very flexible hips, which allow him to execute the tripod pass. Lot of people without this attribute will get rolled over.

Yeah definitely helps
