Usually but it became the number one company. So of course it's going to get talked about. Apple has been talked about by normies for years and it kept going up.
Yeah. Not perfect but very well done by Mark + the 15% would probably just confuse things. His goldrush and nvidia are supplying pickaxes analogy was probably the best one liner that got things to click for them.
About why US doesn't produce the chips in the USA. Taiwan Semiconductor (TSMC) the world's dedicated semiconductor foundry has the tech to make the chips at a micro level. A great place for you guys to start your research.
4:15 CPU is Central Processing Unit. GPU have more cores which can do parallel task which cpu is not required to do. CPU gives parallel tasks to gpu and focus on its core work of os, hardware handling etc.
u skipped mining straight to AI all the miners were buying gpu cause of BTC then Eth nvidia them self were selling under the table to big mining companies
Great freaking video and explanation. I know it’s not sexy or the topic will Make some people go to sleep but I luv that you uploaded this. I heard about this company and didn’t know much on how it worked!! Great video and a breakdown of a hard subject for most people
Nah, not for a basic cheap laptop. Those usually have the Intel GPU that does the bare minimum in graphics. Nvidia GPUs usually come in the more developer oriented computers
I think the best way to explain it is Apple sells to the Average Joe. Where Nvidia sells the companies a better source of money with higher budgets and better flexibility.
I appreciate the long winded answer from Mark on why the company blew up, but really the short of it was because of the pandemic, chip shortages overseas due to trade embargoes, combined with the high speculation in tech hardware because of Ai and post Covid spikes in demand
To Andrews comment: Ai is being used by companies to understand users. Users are being used without knowing it by ising the phone, laptop, etc. and give feedback by wanting something that the ai wants them to want.
I had the opportunity to buy at least 20 shares, but decided to stick with AMC during the pandemic. I get so mad whenever I see this company’s name smfh
Not many of them have it as disposable cash/savings. They generally just buy more property, businesses, assets, and investments and become loan sharks. They borrow their spending money from banks at low interest rates and mortgage their vast portfolio
18:15 America is the reason that we can't have factories for this stuff. I know there is Intel factoring close to Columbus Ohio and that's it in America as far as I know. I can see him build it every day as I pass by
You seriously had no idea what nvda is? Sheesh. They make chips dude. The best ones. By far. You know chips, the things that run every ecu in every electronic we use? Yea those things. No big deal
The technology and science of developing these chips is an art form. And it's distributed among countries that are US allies. China's mainly part of assembly and packaging stage which is the least technological part of it. Taiwan mainly does the design and fabrication part. The first 2 stages that require specialised skills and techniques. But even before that only one company can make the machines required to make the chips. A germany company that uses dutch parts. Both making that machine and those parts from netherlands further require specialised skill sets. China however has a monopoly on the raw minerals/resources required for it. But then India is taking away some of the assembly and packaging part from china.
I'm so upset because I remember investing in this company back in 2000 and it seem like I looked it up it was about $6 a share now it's up to $130 something or more. I'm feeling sick to my stomach because I got rid of the stock or I moved it something else because it wasn't moving fast enough in my head because I don't know nothing about stocks but I know that I make money and I know to put it in stocks.
man everyone knows about NVIDIA or AMD since childhood if they play games ,THey are the only GPU companies, dont know if its correct or not but i heard Jensen works at AMD first and now AMD is competing with Nvidia its like Ferrari arrogance created Lambo
if your in tech you know NVidia but comedians not knowing it is obvious lol - but the recent boom is because of their developments in AI chips the investing would've baked speculation in them achieving their goal for years until they recently did and made everything with AI possible - The only people that would've got it correct would've been speculative gamblers so don't play the market like its the casino just buy a VOO or SCHD Etfs and then just stfu and watch your money go up over time slowly - don't try guessing the next NVidia you'll likely invest in another Theranos or FTX kinda thing if you do that. Because buying and ETF is just buying America basically your buying all the top us companies your buying America just in a Stock so if you believe in your country you'd be better off investing like that.
"i feel like scaling is easy." - Andrew. "prototypes are easy, scaling(permits in US/letigation/millions oversight/Ebrionment Groups) is HARD" - Elon Musk( Ceo of SpaceX) Who is doing shit rest of the world combined can't do in Space Industry.
5-10 year investment then buy now it, you’ll still see massive gains long term through the decade you are not too late, in terms of short term investing/trading I’d still get in now before the earnings report coming in August, they’re most likely going to beat expectations again which will increase the value (price) of the stock
It's surprising there's little mention of that in the comment section. A guy I worked with in 2010'ish, and introduced me to bitcoin. He was renting space to house his small GPU farm for mining. It sounded crazy to me at the time to invest in virtual money....he's doing very well now.
18:00 Setting up Fabrication lab is so hard. I mean so HARD that its almost next to impossible. Only Taiwan was able to do it. TSMC can design high end chips that power our entire world. 1 chip per 1 second are being manufactured today to meet world demand. Its almost funny when Andrew says AI is not helping him day to day. In fact mobile phones of apple inc they user already have dedicated chips for the same. Fab setup is not like your regular factory setup. It requires 20-50 billion dollar investment to just start the fab. China wants to do fab still they cannot manufacture 5nm chips. Indian government is pushing for semiconductor industry and it will take 10 years to see the results of todays investment.
2 years back Biden did put a foundation stone for fabrication lab for Samsung in Texas. I think 6.4 to 20 billion dollar investment from biden government was promised.
That's a hell of an answer to what NVDIA is and does. Great job
