As a military member, fainting while standing for extended periods of times is pretty common, especially for people who lock their knees. A bunch of boot camp graduation ceremonies online have people fainting
@@neverwinta7702 why does that matter? You don't get less prone to fainting as you grow in age. British Coldstream guards are also famous for fainting at attention at their posts because they wear those extremely hot uniforms. Lots of situations can make even physically fit soldiers at risk to faint if in extremely constructive situations for long periods of time.
@@jordanbrock8199 they're not locking their knees and remaining completely still. The human body is not designed to stand without moving. Standing requires the heart to pump the blood much harder, and that requires some level of physical exertion to increase heart rate. Something as little as shaking your leg or moving your hands can often be more than enough, but standing completely still without any kind of body readjustments can be extremely dangerous. This is well known in the military, which is why for instance soldiers on guard duty regularly march back and forth a few feet every couple of minutes. This is intentional to give the body the ability to increase the blood flow and decrease the risk of fainting. Standing completely still at attention for instance is usually the worst situation you can be in when it comes to this risk. When it comes to super market store workers, yes they are standing, but I think for obvious reasons you can understand that they are not standing completely still. It is your natural instinct to move, and you're not gonna do it without intentionally making an effort not yo move.
It does just happen though. Literally anybody who is standing still for an extended period of time can pass out if they lock their legs out straight. That's one of the first things they teach people when they join the military. You have to keep your knees slightly bent when standing in a formation or you'll collapse and look like an idiot. Lol
@@PyroNinja713 lol no shit I’ve seen a few videos now that you mention it of soldiers just buckling over standing there lol I didn’t know they teach you that haha, that’s trippy.

000 it's where you keep your legs completely straight for an extended amount of time with no bend in your knees, it causes blood pooling and will promptly lead you to faint from blood mis/malcirculation
the few times I’ve fainted have been the most humbling experiences of my life realizing that at any time all the lights can go out and there’s nothing you can do about it has a way of putting you in your place, we are truly powerless in the big scheme of things

Fun fact: silent farts are silent because what makes them silent is the presence of fecal matter in the colon, which dampens the anus from vibrating. Naturally, the flatulence moving past said fecal matter is what makes them so deadly.

Only thing I could find on this as to “why” he fainted was a response that he was sick with the flu at the time. Who knows if that’s the truth or your usual PR response. Generals do work crazy hours though, so I wouldn’t be shocked if it was some combination of the flu, exhaustion, and/or dehydration. Or his dealer giving him dat good shit.
Bro I worked 16 hour shifts then went to clinicals and have been up for 36 hours straight never had this happen that is a withdrawal of some sort or a neurological problem.
@@joshb40 No doubt. I’m sure a lot of people are gonna scoff at the idea that he was just a little sleepy. Lol. With all the crazy fucking shifts I had to work in the military, it’s hard to imagine that exhaustion alone would cause this.

@@joshb40 Bruh. Josh? Your in the minority. I’ve had the flu at school and if your dehydrated with the flu and haven’t slept you can for sure past out for exhaustion and dehydration even when your not on the flu. @@winstonbarnett7858 Winston what! I’m in the Air Force and have no idea what your talking about so I’m assuming your joking or trolling. The formation of bending your knees a bit and standing does not cause you to pass out lmao
Little info here, cause I see this so often and people rarely react properly; when someone is fainting, lay him down on the ground and take his feet in your hands while standing. If you hold someone up who is fainting, it's very, very uncomfortable for him.
This happens all the time in the military, the main cause is because of solders will lock their knees well standing, you could find a collection of YT videos of solders fainting well in formation
Back in the early 90's while serving in the Lifeguards, I fainted, the weight of the uniform & the heat that day was overwhelming, when I came around & gathered my emotions I was then marched to regimental prison cells & spent the rest of the day being beasted, British soldiers would be punished for fainting while on guard duty, shocking really I was fatigued & shattered for days after.
@@chazzlebazzle69 Good, If you fainted that’s because you either locked out your knees or you didn’t hydrate enough, your responsible for your own safety solder, I would have thrown you in the brig too if I was apart of your command
I think it is weird to lay him down right there and then. I've learnt first-aid too but the application also depends on the context of the situation. Bring him outta there, then lay him down.
That was a vasovagal attack, when blood pressure drop and not enough of it can reach the brain. Treatment is to bring head lower, so that gravity helps blood reaching brain. Keeping head and person upright risks permanent brain damage. So, when someone faints, lay them flat on the ground, with no pillow, and lift the legs up so that enough blood finds it easier to reach brain rather than legs.
Derreck Jones in the military we are taught to do it so subtle that you can’t notice because your pants are slightly big. So even if it’s subtle, you can do it every minute or so.
Derreck Jones Just like John said, standing up straight with your knees locked means most of your blood flow will go down towards your legs, this is is normal because when walking the pressure of that helps bring it back up; when the knee’s are locked and you’re standing, not a lot of blood is coming back up to the heart, which means not a lot of blood is going to the brain-hence, he fainted. Some people actually use this as punishment, especially in the military.
I had someone in my platoon break his jaw by passing out and hitting the floor! The other corpsman and I ran up to him and we instantly knew we needed to get it sealed for a long time

As a military member, fainting while standing for extended periods of times is pretty common, especially for people who lock their knees. A bunch of boot camp graduation ceremonies online have people fainting
He a general
@@neverwinta7702 why does that matter? You don't get less prone to fainting as you grow in age. British Coldstream guards are also famous for fainting at attention at their posts because they wear those extremely hot uniforms. Lots of situations can make even physically fit soldiers at risk to faint if in extremely constructive situations for long periods of time.
Hahaha hahaha
What about people working at grocery stores or restaurants standing for 6-8 hours? I don’t see them fainting

In the military, we have a problem if you stand in formation at attention and lock your knees, you will pass out it and it looks just like that. Wide eye and everything
@@joshb40 Bruh. Josh? Your in the minority. I’ve had the flu at school and if your dehydrated with the flu and haven’t slept you can for sure past out for exhaustion and dehydration even when your not on the flu. Combine this with the amount of time he works a day and the levels of stress and the flu can be enough to push you over the edge of exhaustion while your body is at war
@@winstonbarnett7858 Winston what! I’m in the Air Force and have no idea what your talking about so I’m assuming your joking or trolling. The formation of bending your knees a bit and standing does not cause you to pass out lmao

Who all got this video recommendation in 2024 ?
Little info here, cause I see this so often and people rarely react properly; when someone is fainting, lay him down on the ground and take his feet in your hands while standing. If you hold someone up who is fainting, it's very, very uncomfortable for him.
Thanks dear.
Noted.
@@chazzlebazzle69
Good, If you fainted that’s because you either locked out your knees or you didn’t hydrate enough, your responsible for your own safety solder, I would have thrown you in the brig too if I was apart of your command
I think it is weird to lay him down right there and then. I've learnt first-aid too but the application also depends on the context of the situation. Bring him outta there, then lay him down.
When you are responsible for human lives , it will take a toll on your body.

I got mad on how she just stood there and did nothing but laugh. Even his colleagues moved her out of the way. So useless.
The responsibilities of those 3 stars on each shoulder must have weighed a lot and forced him to lock his knees.
He probably locked his knees. That’s why the military says to bend ur knees when ur standing for a long yome
Derreck Jones when you look your knees standing up straight it cuts off blood circulation and can make you pass out if you do it for a long time
Derreck Jones in the military we are taught to do it so subtle that you can’t notice because your pants are slightly big.
