I wish I could have loved punk more but aside from a group here or there I was primarily a John Lydon fan. He was the extent of my interest in punk but he was enough because he was incredibly real and genuine. He remains so today. I loved how he busted Dick Clark's chops with his bizarre off the wall appearance on American Bandstand. American Bandstand was great but having Lydon's antics on the show made it better. John Lydon is a true giant in music. Sorry about your family, John. Blessings to them.
You're right...I consider myself a punk fan but when I actually think about it, there was only the Pistols, the Clash, not-quite-punk bands like the Stranglers and the Banshees, second division plodders like the Lurkers, maybe the Vibrators, and the rest was rubbish. Stuff like Eater, Slaughter and the Dogs, just bereft of any talent and with no legacy. The proof of the pudding was the great music that Lydon continued to make (members of the Clash too, plus the Stranglers and the Banshees went on to make many great albums).
I live close to what is now the Emirates stadium (home of Arsenal football!) that's built on the childhood home of John Lydon. I often think of him when I walk down Benwell Road.
I just love him. What a tough little fu##er. His childhood in Ireland was horrible. And it looks like the hardship is still there. Fuck, this man just blows me away. Way way way away. I just want to give him a hug.
Fantastic to see John Lydon, nice interview.
Nice one. Because theres a lot of shallow hals making comments that atr coming from their assholes
He has always pointed out the importance of truth. He was talking about that in interviews from 77 . And I believe him because truth is all you need.
I love this man!!
Says it like it is. You have to respect this guy for what he’s achieved and his continued integrity
He has a thyroid issue, his brother/best friend died a couple years ago, and his wife has dementia. dont make fun of him.
Lydon is a moron
I just love him. What a tough little fu##er. His childhood in Ireland was horrible. And it looks like the hardship is still there. You just know he will be at his dear wife's side taking care of her till the end. That's what a real man does.. And it cracks me up that he fell in love with L.A. of all places. Stay healthy John . You're one of the real things.
He started off so stick like. Ironic. Love the guy
This was the best interview ever of Johhny Rotten. This girl is very good.
I feel really bad for Johnny, stop making fun of him. He’s going through a lot and eating and drinking might be the only coping mechanism that helps him. If he is ok with the way he looks and doesn’t care then that’s fine(truly it can’t be good for his health but I think as long as he is happy that’s all that’s important).
Jeez, is this in widescreen??
What happened to John did he get injected with cooking oil intravenously???
Be Healthy Johnny.... Many Many People Love You ✌️🇦🇺
Very interesting guy ...
What genius put the mic stand in the way of the camera?
it’s a radio show not a tv show
We all get old and fat. So what it's part of life so live it. His mind and spirit are all there so listen and learn something.
Love this guy and his honesty
John, hope everything works out for you.
I was just getting back on here to say that Springsteen should have run out of every gig but I already posted that earlier so i just say it again!!
So sad for Johnny. He's always been blunt and never one to mince words. Such a huge influence in the world of modern music. Hope he gets better soon.
He's always a great interview, regardless of the skills of the interviewer.
Brucie Stormed out of North Carolina too, when he found out that he could go to a restroom with little girls.
LOL..he supports those weird policies, and politicians who make them...
