Ive had the X5 for a few years. The latest update is awesome. Full hole view, layup distances, club recommendations...love it. I also much prefer the touch screen/multi-function button combo. Shot Scope distances are more accurate than my buddies i-watch with arccos. Shot Scope is great golf tech.

Just bought the V5 and used it 4 rounds and it’s great. I had a Garmin S6 with a battery getting weak and used Arccoss until I tired of the excessive subscription charges. The V5 is a perfect and much cheaper replacement (nice looking watch too). The main drawbacks (minor) that I have seen are the green pin placement you demonstrated is far too fiddly, I’ll never use it. Also the apps presentation of data is not the best but I’ll get used to it, the data is all there! Would have liked to see the hole Stroke Index in on course mode.

I own the S70 and love it but i'm debating selling and converting to Shot Scope V5... There's so much i don't use with the S70, 90% of the time all you're looking at is front / middle / back and the Garmin Golf app is so bad when it comes to post round... I also love that you get the tags with the Shot Scope watch instead of an extra $300 for big obnoxious Garmin sensors.

Used the V4 yesterday. Not a watch but something that attaches to your belt. In terms of round speed, it was cart path only. I could grab a few clubs walk to my ball and have front middle and back readings without using a laser. Definitely speeds things up.

I have the V3 and pleased to see that two clips used to secure the strap not one. I have a small elastic band to make sure the V3 stays fastened.
The data tracking is excellent on the shot scope products, and I’ll buy the V5 when my V3 fails. In the UK it’s on offer for £199.
Regarding in position can you still collect it when you enter number of putts taken?
Main drawback I see is the custom charging lead I know these are about £25 for the V3 and I have had to replace the straps for whatever reason the sensor unit failed in the strap, shot scope replaced FOC
Their support service is very good as well, especially if there are mapping issues on a course they try to update within 24 hours!

Great video, thank you LPT- Watched the video the day it was released and immediately purchased a V5 after watching this video - it arrived within 4 days and the set-up was simple. Put the tags on my clubs and scheduled a 9-hole round for this past Monday, May 6th. Initially, everything worked very well but then in the middle of the last hole I looked down and the screen on the V5 was toggling relentlessly between the wake-up screen and a "factory reset" screen. None of the buttons did anything to manipulate the screen and I couldn't even turn it off. Eventually, it lost battery power so I plugged it in hoping that it would return to normal and the same death spiral of toggling between these 2 screens occurred again.
OK we all know S happens so I'm not too stressed I'll just call Shot Scope and get this worked out on the phone with a customer service rep. That is not an option. There is no one to call, your;e only option is to send an email. The website also explicitiy states they are very busy and may take a while for them to get back to you and so far I've heard nothing. I don't even want a refund I just want this thing to work properly. Leaving for a golf trip next week and am probably SOL with Shot Scope unfortunately

Great show Gabe, I got myself a cheap Garmin s12 last year and your absolutely right about speeding up play as I would regularly under club trying to work out yardage from course markers but now I may not be hitting the greens but I'm up there next to them, I will definitely be checking out the v5 if available in UK , all the club sensors and info looks like a bit of a bargain, the only thing I don't get on with is the buttons , I no longer wear s12 on wrist as I kept hitting buttons when swinging ,look on next shot and the hole had changed or even turned back to being a watch, so now hangs off the bag which I no big deal, keep them coming mate.

Hola Gabe!! I have a golf buddy WT5 as my golfing watch and I use a blue tees range finder. I use both during a round.. my range finder when I have a true change at going at the pin. How is this any better than a mobile app on the phone like SwingU? Right it doesn't have shot tracking per club but it has a automatic scorecard for your whole group and if you know your clubs you will be just fine without needing to have individual club tracking.
Plus the phone is a larger screen so you can actually see the hole you are playing (regular or satellite mode) rather than a tiny representation of the hole. Plus the app is mostly free unless you want additional features like wind speed, elevation and "plays like". The ONLY benefit of a watch is having it on your wrist. But I mount my phone on the cart then glance at my phone as I get out and grab my club. And I don't have to deal with a watch possibly hindering my swing or wrist bend.
I have used my smart watch with other golf tracking apps and it gets in my way more than it helps.

So bummed….I dished out $$$ for the X5 before this came out…didn’t realize it…don’t really like it so far for a number of reasons. First, I’m coming from 10 years with Arccos. So, much easier to use (maybe I’m just used to it). Second, I’m left handed, but golf right handed, so don’t like a watch on my left hand, but it’s required. Also, don’t like the way the watch band is reversed. I may unscrew them and swap them. Looks pretty easy to do. I do like the sensors. They are better than the Arccos; much smaller and pre-paired to the clubs. I’ve only used it for one round so far, but will give it a little while. Not sure if I can use my phone to do all the tracking. I normally have to wear glasses just for reading, so reading the small watch face isn’t ideal. Prefer reading the phone screen…I’ll have to look into that more…

Does this watch allow to touch sensors to confirm club you're hitting? Even the H4 is a step above Arccos.
This is why Arccos is not very good since day 1. Batteries req'd on each sensor that won't connect. Subscription req'd rips the bank. Manufacturers need to stop offering those hideous arccos grips that don't perform or w/ battery, meet normal swingweight standards.

    • @LetsPlayThru
