Hey guys. I am here because I am a fellow fabricator and a fan of Corvairs! Looking forward to seeing this build in on the trail and in action! When you bend roll bars, try and make sure the weld seam is oriented on the neutral axis. Your main hoop had the weld seam on the outside of the bend, making the weld seam experience maximum stretch. There is already a bunch of stress on the tube due to the weld, and asking it to stretch is potentially making it worse. Putting the weld seam on the center line makes the tubing as happy as it can be. When starting a bend, just remember to make sure the weld seam is lined up with the edge of the bending die and you will be all set!
And in this episode Matt learns that plasma is hot. Who knew? lol That thing was a tank the day it was new...It's even more so now. Truly a case of there's no kill like overkill. Crazy cool build, really enjoying watching it. Thank you!
