Thank you guys for mentioning a couple of things that I had on my heart after hearing Josh's message this past weekend. Just like with married couples, community is extremely important for Single people as well. I have found that hospitality has considerably waned in ALL the churches I have seen over the past decade, and especially after the pandemic. We, as a body, should be intentional about reaching out to others and not assume everyone in the House of God is on the same level. I know there are people who will walk in, stay for a service, then walk right back out without anyone speaking with them, I mean REALLY speaking to them. The Greeters to a great job, but that does not really break the ice...even though it does put a crack in it, so praise God for them doing that. I know one of the reasons why I came to Christ was because someone in the old youth group I was a part of at the age of 15 reached out to me instead of just letting me walk back out again after visiting. I know it is hard to do in a large church setting though. The effort is still greatly appreciated...it would not be in vain.
Grateful for this conversation. Grateful for a shepherd who wants to minister to the hearts of his single sheep. For a pastor who is willing to address the felt heart desires of this season. God is revealing things to me as I listen. ♥️
