Do PS3 games have platinums or count? If so and if you want a break from Harry Potter or Lego, MySims SkyHeroes would be interesting. Sure, it isn't the best game in the MySims series (a spin-off of The Sims), but it's the only one on PlayStation and, excluding flash games, is the 4th game in the series not exclusive to both Wii and DS (after the first game getting a Java mobile game and a PC port, the DSiWare exclusive game, and a lost media Korean exclusive Java mobile game) and the last game in the series.
These videos make me want to go back and finally platinum my lego HP games as well! I don’t have your level of patience and dedication though lol. Sigh.. I’ll get there one day 😅
I personally prefer 1-4 with one of the main reasons being that many areas (most notably all 4 common rooms) that were explorable before are no longer explorable in this game and although I liked some locations added I felt disappointed by some that weren't (like Hogsmeade, Ministry and Godrics Hollow only being a level). Spell wise they were both equal imo. Character wise again pretty equal. Level wise I enjoyed both, but just 1-4 slightly more. Graphics wise is the only place I preferred 5-7. I still love and enjoy both, but it just felt like they took away things they didn't need to and when adding new things they had a lot of missed potential. But it also goes to show how much potential a Skywalker Saga type of remake of Harry Potter has. Especially if they hopefully decide to follow more closely to the book story wise (which might be too much to hope for so I'll hope it happens, but won't add it to expectations).
From a casual player who just enjoys Harry Potter games: I preferred 1-4 by far, for a few reasons, which I'm going to write down just because I feel so passionately about it 😂 - The duelling was so tedious and so frequent! - The amount of character-specific abilities in 5-7 was overwhelming, honestly. Arthur's blue wrench, Ron's Deluminator, Hermione's bag. - The levels seemed longer (more rooms/scenes/locations) and more tedious to do, more teeny puzzles everywhere that stopped you in your tracks. I want to average the number of scenes in each level and compare the two to see if that's actually accurate. The puzzles were more focused on one tiny area than using the whole area, and the puzzles that did use the whole area were simple fetch-and-finds. - So many explorable locations were cut down or removed completely. Dumbledore's office being gone was a real disappointment, and Diagon Alley even more. - Starting in year 6? there are Death Eaters everywhere in free roam areas and are just plain annoying, because they attack and respawn almost immediately. Discovering Avada Kedavra removed them permanently was a HUGE relief. - Some scenes in levels, some of the tasks, really came from out of left field. Needing to wash clothes at the Weasleys'. Having to extract Moody from the fountain. Mrs. Cole's grand adventure through the orphanage. Combined with the feeling of tediousness and increase in minipuzzles, I just didn't enjoy these levels and actively did not look forward to doing them. That kind of puts it on the nose, when I realized I did not like 5-7 as much: I dreaded having to go back to do levels over, whereas in 1-4, for the most part, I was delighted to revisit levels. 1-4, I would pop on just to play a quick level and have some fun, but 5-7, I had to carve out time and expect to spend at least 20min on the shortest level (my fun comes from collecting everything, I will not walk past a banner without hitting it). Even though 5-7 is a shorter play time than 1-4, it felt slow as molasses because of the endless puzzles and duelling. I have too many thoughts on the subject. But 100%ing 5-7 was more of a dry, dragging effort, compared to the excited grind of 1-4.
genuinely, it is such a shame to me that Harry Potter will probably never be free of Rowlings' hand because it is honestly one of the biggest influences of my life. Such a beautiful series and the LEGO games really got me into its fantastical world...
I'm currently working on this trophy, did the Sirus Black one was I was going through the story because of you. I have missed the tent ones, I'll see if can go back.
@@RetroRaconteur Did it. Just finished the game late last night and got my third platinum trophy. Planing on platinuming all Harry Potter games, then move to some games I played in my childhood. Thanks for the inspiration, my first platinum was in June this year with Hogwarts Legacy.
Which game should I try to platinum next?
Dragon Age!! Just kidding, you should do Harry Potter and the Half Blood prince

red dead redemption 2
Sure, PS3 games count. Any game with a platinum!
All of that, defeating Voldemort... opening a box multiple times... just for 10 points to Griffindor.
😆😆😆

You can do it! Just space it out over a few weeks instead of trying to cram it into a few days like I did 😆

Really hoping the remake rumor is true!

Amazing video retro!!!!!
Thanks, Rory!

I only had years 5-7 on console, and this brings back so many memories
Are the VODS of your Lego playthroughs available anywhere? I'd love to watch them!
Yep! They're on my twitch page. I streamed most of the 5-7 playthrough.
That must have been a really good cookie 😆
😆😆😆
I got 100% in this game yesterday, good work.
Nice!
Nice dude!
Thanks!

I think you should be able to!

@bmill229 awesome 👏🏻
Thank you so much 😍
Glad you enjoyed!
So glad you didn't have to retry the 1 mill stud level because you didn't get a key character.
Same! That would have been unbearable 😆
I did the same thing with the bonus
1-4 you can enter all the common rooms and dormitories
Yep! I was surprised you couldn't do that in Years 5-7.
Got to 99.9% bought everything and did everything, checked twice
