- Recognising a lack of a support system for women refugees in Jakarta, Nimo Adam and three other refugee women founded the Sisterhood Community Center in 2018. The Sisterhood’s mandate is to be a dedicated haven community for refugee women to be empowered through skills such as language lessons, craft classes and more, and to be able to seek emotional support freely. Their desire is for their fellow sisters to find hope and purpose in their lives despite the uncertainty of their journey.
