Great review and the days of Lotus standing for “Lots of trouble usually serious” have definitely gone with their latest cars. Another great british brand albeit owned by Geely, but so is Volvo and Polestar🤷🏻♂️. But brought up to the 21st century. 👍. Regarding the seats in the back. If you want more sculptured and comfortable seats then you go for the 4 seat version which is way more luxurious in the back. However for families then the 5 seat is the one and to accommodate 3 passengers in the back I guess slight compromises. Which to be fair is the same in the Taycan. Plus the doors I believe have soft close hence maybe why the closing did sound like a top premium car? Great review though and definitely one on the list for my next car.
Geely have excelled themselves with this car. I particularly like the grey interior. It’s so grey. I don’t think they could have made it any greyer. I long to live in a world where everything is grey.
@@augnkn93043 Björn once changed his camera mode from colour to grey scale while pointing to the sky and you couldn't see the difference. That was so funny.
I feel like the iPace is the forgotten EV. When it came out it was compared to the Model X all the time, and then everyone stopped talking about i t. How are you liking it now?
I think Lotus is going to have a strong EV presence if they keep doing what they have here. I'd love to see them ship a lot of them over here. It would be a welcome change from all the Porsche SUVs
I had a test drive today. From the outside it looks stunning. front seats are also very good. Back seats are abysmal. Frunk is large enough for your toothbrush, trunk space (without back seats declined) is less than I expected. Steering is extremely direct and precise, suspension, damping and throttle response is sporty but not very refined and you cannot set it to more comfy setting. Not Audi or Marc class. Also, at full acceleration I notices some rumbling noise on the front axel. Finishing of materials are very good.
Very beautiful car, but the price starts at 90000 euro and goes up to 105000 for the S model, the R version is around 120000. That is a little too much for this car I think. Otherwise, this car got a lot of things from Tesla but did them better. The interior especially - it like Teslas with additional accessories but better quality and feel to it :)
For its price it's a steal. I know it's expensive, but you get a lot of car and performance for its price. The fact you can get in one of these for under 100k its astonishing. Cars like the eps for example are pushing easily over 130k and not having the looks to match. This is the best value luxury suv on the market by a long shot.
Is it any good at towing caravans? I have a grey caravan that I tow around the roads near me and the grey interior would definitely match my grey caravan which also has a grey interior. Geely have excelled themselves with this car. It’s slightly better than an Id4 whilst being many times more expensive.
Are there real buttons on the steering wheel or just sensor buttons? I like everything except the piano lacquer elements in the cockpit and the tiny driver's display.
Many interiors to choose from. Red, quartz, etc. Grey or black interiors will most probably be specced on over 60% of these. It's a daily car, bright colours discolour eventually, no matter how high quality. And yes, its expensive, but it seems a reasonable price considering what you get!
Really cheap compared to Model X which is assembled by cross-eyed retards. This is just next level luxury! the level of details and also better range/ charging than model X. I would pick this over anything in the 100K class!
@@millerbai I don't care if it has 9.000 hp and goes faster than light, I still don't have extra 135.000 euros in my bank account. Sure it's great for someone who have money, that's why I said the price is not good for normal person.
I like this car, but it doesn't look like you can play a movie on the rear screen??? That's nuts if true - why can't you have netflix/disney+ etc... for the kids in the back? Also doesn't look like it does V2L, which is another oversight.
Samsung? KEF is an absolutely top notch audio company from England, a pair of speakers are over US$2,500 and a pair of floor speakers are over US$7,000. KEF Muon pair cost more than US$200,000, definitely not "Samsung rebranding"
My big problem with cars like this is the safety factor. If this collides with a small car it will just destroy it and the occupants. Its jus physics and big heavy vehicles are not optimal
I think Lotus philosophy of low weight being a priority has just become marketing BS. This is a massive heavy vehicle & could have come from any manufacturer. Where is the Lotus DNA?
The DNA is in the way that it drives properly - Lotus have been consulting for other companies for a long time to help them with that. Companies exist to make money and it's way past time that Lotus stopped flogging a dead horse of trying to survive while making tiny sports cars.
It's not a Lotus it's a 3 ton Chinese lump, Caterham have produced what the Lotus EV should have been. Anyone paying that money for an SUV built like a tank has more money than sense.
We really don't need any more massive SUV's. The Chinese appear to be taking over the EV industry. It's OK for rich people but what about us ordinary folk. I'm going to stay with my ICE car.
Agree with Bjørn on this one, a beauty inside and even more on the outside. Ex90 go home
