There's a compendium document with all the traits. Worth pointing out that the series of scenarios in the Read First document add more rules each one, so a great "baby steps" intro to the rules.
hi I enjoy your coverage of Batman Miniature game. Which is best base for joker and Jim Gordon. I noticed you can put them on bigger base with more scenery or smaller base
I used to really hate this game, I play a lot of games and I used to actively avoid this one. That has changed with the 3rd edition. We just use an general objective and plot cards for factions that don't have there own. I have played 10+games and they have all been great. I have gone from hating this game to recommending it.
Looking forward to seeing some Batreps from you for this new edition and more of your great painted models. Also at the end you mention new card decks for old factions, they are doing this they just released first one with the League of Assassins :)
I like this channel but you rush through everything and I don't mean just for this video. It often feels like you begrudge talking about this stuff. I want your channel to grow but try and think about how quickly you run through this stuff, just because you know the game doesn't mean your viewers do. If there's too much content for a single video why not break it up over several? Or only cover certain topics. Keep up the good work mate.
At around 11:30 and at the end you mention that you cant see a list of the traits in the book and need the box for the cards and stuff which is true for physical ones, but they have a full list on their website in the 3rd edition folder which also has copies of every card in the box too all in pdf form for free to download. So you can look up anything there and see what all cards do etc. I have added a link here to the dropbox with all the PDFs for 3rd edition from KMs website. It is being updated with the new releases too. www.dropbox.com/sh/41bwzzggpr9db4p/AAB7kyQ9qDoOEicVVaicAA31a?dl=0
I think you did the Strength die wrong in the combat example. Doesn’t the Strength die, not being an Attack die, just need to meet or beat the character’s Strength value? So Batman with a Strength of 3+ would just need to roll that for an unblockable hit? I don’t have the book, just going by what I could see on the screen. Not having the traits or objectives in the book is a bummer. Is this the full rulebook release or will there be a book that includes everything? I know there’s pdfs but one complete source is preferred. I can see how the streamlining can make the game more tournament friendly. Perhaps that was their overall objective.
Thanks for the excellent review. Unfortunately, this new edition takes every single thing that I enjoyed from BMG2 and throws it out the window. I had planned for 2020 to be the year that I did a deep dive into the game, but ended up going with ASOIAF after Knight detailed this new edition.
Just bought the 3rd edition from Knight Models. But what happened to the cardboard terrain and the Joker model? They're not included as shown in your video. Seems to be a lot smaller box. WHAT THE HECK??
@@Bigsonnyblue134 I heard they downsized the starter box for a more affordable entry. I call BS because I ended up spending a whole lot more money for the Joker and Commissioner Gordon and shipping to the US is not cheap. As for the cardboard terrain, there was production issues so they stopped it altogether. Boo
I would warn you about Knight Models. They are known for releasing these amazing models and quickly discontinuing them, following a new edition. Which they seem to also push out fairly often.
Wait, if your objective deck has to be half faction specific (so yeah faction decks should be coming) but also half generic, doesn’t this mean you have to get this box as the generic cards plus scenario cards are all in it?
At this stage, no new Speedster rules or updates to Magic. They did announce that they were going to water down the 'powers' to bring the game back to 'Batman Level' power. At the moment, use the 2nd ed rules for Speedsters and Magic.
@@TheEldarGuy I will admit speedsters are so powerful in 2 ed. So I'm not surprised they are reworking it. I didn't have any magic peoples I don't know how good that was but I was caught always interest in doing a Justice League dark team.
I'll enjoy watching Ash's battle reports for it, but man this game's rules are just asking way too much both in learning and executing for what it looks like you get back in return with gameplay.
Uh oh, I'm in trouble... you will make me buy into yet another game :D

I always use the smaller ones
Thanks for the video. My first dive in BMG. Definitely interested in seeing Batreps on this

So I’m guessing that this means that KM will be releasing updated card packs for each existing Batbox with faction specific objectives?
@@wyrdhunter they've Already started with League of Assassins.
@@wyrdhunter Yes and as said they have already started

Except that "Return to Gotham" is basically sold out EVERYWHERE! Lol.

no all online for free in the dropbox folder i linked above mate
Is there anything to print out the tokens and templates?
Did they change speedsters? And are the symbols for ammo and shots still counter intuitive? (Ammo is bullet holes and shots are bullets)?
There’s no rules for Speedsters in the core book; check the compendium PDFs!

Can't find this game

I’d like to see N4 use similar falling rules.
You should play Gotham City Chronicles again!
I can't get myself to play that game. The rules are just so clunky it's almost unplayable.
