The punching mechanic of cancelling out each others punch is a great throwback to Rayman 1 and the “punch gun” or whatever that one bad guy would shoot at a regular interval.
I am still amazed as how you found the right (by me) middle ground between the original aesthetic and a modern renderer with beautiful effects. It looks so professional. This and the attention to details like the animations, the remade models. What a magnificent thing this is.
Your models are gorgeous man! So impressive, it blows my mind everytime I see new ones! They look *exactly* like the original models, but just with super high detail.
. The illuminations looks sooooooooo good man. Glad your taking your own design choices too that honestly made things pop out way better than the original. Also that ending with Globox was perfect... now add a hidden option in the settings to make his back white again >:]
That camera improvement is really great! It'll be cool for people who like to use mouse buttons to attack, jump etc. I'd add an option to keep camera frozen in set position until the player start running again. Your level design skill was awesome since start but I feel like it's getting even better than before! :D One small thing, that stings my eyes though, is the vines design - their surfaces are somewhat unnaturally cut to a very clear and regular shapes. It'd be cool to get them more, like, blended into the environment - maybe with some more unregular shape of its model or with making them less lush close to the edges? At the end I actually thought you're gonna tear Globox a new one (though saying "the first one" would be more accurate in his case xD)
6:34 yes i think the rock Is to keep some gems in the original game. You are doing a really good job!! Hope you keep going and have fun during your work😁
Ahaha got us good with the globox thing! I think the option to add in the new camera mode is a great idea! Perhaps with the new camera mode when we play it we can make detailed screenshots of all your hard work! Having it be able to be disabled is a fantastic idea though as i can see it potentially tricky to use for the snowboard/funkyboard fixed camera sections of the game. Love everything your doing its always such a joy to see a new video!
Dear god it's crazy to see Rayman 3 like this, i grew up with it and when i go back to it it's always a shocker cause of how good it still looks, it genuinely is one of the best looking multiplat games from the 6th gen, not many games have the magical vibe and art design rayman has, the swirly textures, the warm lighting everywhere along with the crazy music, i think Rayman 3, whilst gameplay wise not being as good as 2, did that the best, there's still nothing quite like it. Seeing it like this feels like somthing i thought i'd never see, truly looks like it does in my brain when i think about these areas, seriously the best fan remake project i've ever seen, they hardly ever nail it, but you clearly understand what made the original so special. Also, as a little aside, the window's you light up at the spiral room that the fairy comes out of is always thel last one you check instead of being completely random (maybe the second to last one sometimes, but never the first second or third) i think the intent was to explore the room a bit before the cutscene sends you in the direction of the door.
It was a set amount of windows you need to light up before you got a cutscene (IIRC 4 or 5) and there's couple windows more than what is needed too so you could choose which to do.
One cool thing that you could do with the red enemies that throw punches is, if you hit then with a normal punch the glove will fall to the ground and then pop. But if you hit it with a fully charged punch it could bounce back into him, punching himself. And now if other enemies are nearby and you hit the punch from the side, it could homing on the nearesr enemy dealing double damage, rewarding skill and experimentation.
This is insanely fantastic work! I hope with everything I have that you'll pull through and finish the whole game. This is pro quality AAA work and not only are you very faithfully remaking the original game in HD with improved controls, you're even improving some things here and there to make the game even more interesting. I cant wait to play this! Keep up the amazing work!
Wow incredible. Absolutely gorgeous, modernised yet feels completely authentic and faithful. I'm just imagining what my kid self woul dhave thought upon seeing this... One tiny nitpick: I think the wobbling effect of the vines at 0:08 and 9:45 is a little too pronounced, if it were me I think I would reduce the "amplitude" to maybe half or less of what it is currently so that it's just a subtle effect. But honestly thats literally the only thing I can point out. Everything else looks perfect. Keep up the amazing work!
Big update man! It's looking amazing already. I am jumping ahead by saying this but hopefully you get to do your own section designs to make the levels bigger in the future that would be incredible. Nonetheless real good work as i said before! Keep going
I enjoyed watching this, there is a few questions about the models if you nevermind: at 2:52 how did you added the hair of the lums? did you use zbrush for this also at 3:08 did you use zbrush cause the model look not that complex to do in blender at 9:46 how did you make the rock particle falling hope you reply and thanks
Hey! Thanks for watching :D 1. The fur was created using a technique called shell texturing, using Zbrush for the fur would be really bad for performance. You can find a lot about this topic online 2. I did use Zbrush and a time-lapse of making this guy is coming soon 3. So the main rock is a mesh that has physics turned on, once I get close to it, and the small rocks that fall after are made using a particle emitter, that emits a rocky mesh. Hope that helps!
If only I had a job I would support you, this is so good, you are doin' an amazing job, makin' design choices to improve things that were there already. When I'll get a job I will surely donate, this is so amazing, keep it up and continue to be amazing
Brother you are criminally underrated like you are doing such a huge project for the Rayman community and you still don't even have 4k subscribers😭 Like this is a lot of dedication but keep it up💪💪💪🙏
I think the black lum needs to be alot more of a darker shade of black, at least on my monitor doesn't look as scary. I also love the addition of polls now, this should be helpful
Do you plan remaking the whole game and releasing it to the public? If yes, you are the most important person on RUclips to me and I am thanking you so much!!!
I would love to remake the whole game, but unfortunately that is a pretty unrealistic goal for one person :( Right now I'm focusing on finishing and releasing the first level, and haven't really decided what I will do with this project after that
man this is SO pretty. thats a good looking slapdash and black lum i love the expressions interesting that podocrocks require vortex now that actually makes a lot more sense gameplay wise than just kinda being the easiest roadblock to cross ever i decide the other ninja crab should DIE !!! main reason is that i think its just really funny that it just gets killed by a rock instantly. also its a bit more memorable than it would have been otherwise (and makes more sense for an early player to only have to fight 1 enemy at a time) so nice to see the camera controls with the mouse actually function, rayman 3 pc originally had that too but it was really bad so i never used it. nice to see very customizeable camera controls hey my comment was in there. i think this was genuinely my biggest gripe lmao but im glad its been fixed !
Cool trick with this camera control with the mouse. The most useful, unlike the original version. Even this bug with this slide is also great and actually, you can leave it like that.🙂 And yeah, thank God you painted Globox's back blue.😂
This is amazing… I’m always so excited to see the next room, and the next, and the next… I’m curious about something, will you make a 100% faithful remake, or will you do a few things your way ? I’m sure you’re familiar with some scrapped ideas, like the water level where the hoodlums used the creatures to create a washing machine x) At some point, you may be in the position to expend on the original game
Will you be releasing the source code for this when you've finished? Would be useful as both a learning material and as a means for fans to expand on the work you've started!
I feel like the ice “glitch” isn’t even gamebreaking, like, from what you show it doesn’t seem like you can skip the entire section so I don’t think there’s to big a reason to really fix or worry bout it
Amzing progress, and finally Globox is fixed!finally Globox is fixed, About killing crab I think it would be intresting if there is a hidden rock switch that player must shoot, that spawns rock that falls and kills the crab.
In the fairy room, you shouldn’t be able to discover the black lum on the first try - in the original game I do believe it was designed to be the third or fourth one you checked, not randomized. I have never found Andre on the first try in the original game once, even after playing this level probably close to 50 times at this point
Not a fan of making that room(where you discover Andre) fully blue to be honest. I loved the combination of different colors in the original. It's one of things that made The Fairy Council levels so special. I hope you stick closer to the original style *however* that said, I do like some of your fixes of things that the original creators did in a hurry. Cheers!
in my memory rayman 3 looks like how you are remaking it now and I'm constantly surprised by how outdated the original looks when you put it on screen for a comparison
would love to see skins for rayman like in origins/legends. kinda got use to play as rayblox. absoluly not nessasary im aware, would just be a nice addition. or maybe modding support to do it urself.
You know, if you’re looking for staff to continue this sublime remastering project for the third Rayman installment after completing the first level, I’m sure a possible collaboration with *New Dawn Games* and/or similar teams might do the trick since your considerable amount of talent could definitely come in handy to help each other with your respective works… 🤩💯😎
I think that's something that's easier said than done, as every team/person has their own style and workflow, as well as the technical aspect of every project is different. So any collaboration would probably require a lot of work just to get the hang of things. Also, I really wouldn't want to take off any of New Dawn Games's focus from their amazing remake :)
Ah yes, now I can sleep peacefully when Globox has a blue back XD
me too 😅

Wow, we're getting so close to having the full first level done now! Keep up the great work brother!
You dropped this, Sir 👑
you're really pouring your whole heart into this project! the black lum model looks amazing, I love the poof effect when it hits the wall as well
Bro what your doing is amazing litterally my favorite childhood game
6:34 yes i think the rock Is to keep some gems in the original game. You are doing a really good job!! Hope you keep going and have fun during your work😁
I love all the new additional stuff you're implementing that weren't originally in the game, make so much sense
Ahaha got us good with the globox thing!

Even better than the original game, nice work
As a huge fan of Rayman 3 and Rayman in general, watching this blows my mind!
The models, rooms and lightning looks fantastic!
Some of the coolest Rayman content I’ve seen in years. Love this!!
The project is amazing, and your videos too! Keep going! ❤

Thank you! It's always a pleasure to see you supporting all the community driven projects
@@MarkedasUnrealyou’re *VERY* welcome, keep it up!!! 😇
Game of my childhood, love how it's looking so far and I can't wait for the full release of this❤
the insane thing is you probably can make like, rayman 4 at this point

Maybe remove or make the drop shadows less intense from the fireflies. It grabs the attention too much. Great work as allways by the way!!

Why doesnt the camera follow rayman properly when he jumps up the vine? Gotta fix those bro.
I love Rayman 3 so much, but Ubisoft are a bunch of soulless "people" that hate anything that will not make them rich. I hope the best for you.
will you make an open scource of this fangame ?
