  • Salem, Mass; Everyone knows the Witch House and the Museums, but off the beaten path for tourists, Salem has erected a modern memorial on the site of the executions at Gallows hill, a memorial to many of the victims of the infamous witch trials who were executed on the spot. We take time out to remember before going back into Salem proper, which bills itself as "Disneyland for the dead" according to at least one T-shirt, and seeing vintage Blow Molds and then finally cruising out for Old Ipswich, Pumpkins, and before we leave it, we show you where we stayed up in the woods in New Hampshire!
Not REALLY a Frights episode but considering the Witch trials, best in that playlist I suppose!

I've never visited Salem but I thank you for saying the name of my direct ancestor John Willard twice. My mother is a Willard. John Willard was the local Constable in Salem and refused to arrest a woman was accused of Witchcraft as he did not believe it. Shortly after a Salem counsel member stated he had a dream that John was a witch and that's why he wouldn't make the arrest . That was enough and he was hanged with so many on that fateful day.

🎉woo hoo!! What a great series of New England vlogs. Loved them all, so much history. My midwives told me many of the women killed during those horrible trials were actually just midwives attending patients during births and deaths.
Thank you Justin and Ally for sharing your trip!! 🧡🍂🍁👻🎃 Safe journey! 🌻 We'll be glad to have you back in OC! 👍😎

How awesome it is that your wonderful Hoast offered you and Ally to stay in this amazing cabin...what a dream!!!
I saw a photo somewhere of the Alcott House (Little Woman). I was hoping you would take the tour. I was able to go when I was 12 (1975), when visiting my Grandma, she took me all over to historical sites!
Nathaniel Hawthorne, I have always wanted to read House of the Seven Gables, but never have...that house tour was great also! I have to ask, did you see the window?
Anyway, great video Justin, I wish I could magically give the two of you more time there!
    Thanks guys!!!

I have celiac disease and I found NE to be very gluten free friendly. Way more than it is here in AZ! We were in Portland, Maine and went to an Irish Pub called Reah Rah’s that had GF fish (haddock) and chips. I was so happy I could have cried. 😭 Also GF potato donuts at a shop called The Holy Donut. 🍩 The donuts are made with potatoes grown in Maine. Maine is actually the 2nd largest producer of potatoes in our country. They were delicious!

I love the brick buildings but not the charcoal gray buildings, of which there were MANY in the video. Justin, if you haven't been to Cumberland, Maryland, you might wanna swing by there one day. Beautiful mountain scenery. The town itself looks very "classic" with lots of brick buildings. I'm not sure what there is to do there, though. 🤔

23:21 I've seen those kind of pumpkins at the Supermarket and believe me I have trouble trying to even touch them. Its like one had a disease, dated a few other pumpkins, never used protection and spread it amongst others.
    Sorry about that!

Sorry, I am not an English teacher or word snob, but... Just a little dictionary tidbit. "Hung" is the past tense of when you hang an inanimate object like a picture, it is correct to use "hanged" when referring to a person being suspended by a rope around the neck until dead. It's not that simple though, while most usage guides save hanged for "people" subjected to death, which means if an inanimate object is suspended from a gallows, the correct term is hung. Like hung in effigy. Though kind of interchangeable, hanged became the proper word for people possibly due to being favored by judges who were passing a sentence. Ok, back to the video.
