The small date D 82 Lincoln cent is what got me into coin roll hunting. I bought 4 boxes to go though and found the 7 you highlighted, but not the illusive D small date copper coin. I did find some that might grade out if the grader has had his correct amount of coffee and doughnuts, and no traffic issues on the way into work, and they aren’t behind on any of their bills, etc. LOL The whole grading thing needs to be way more objective than I’m hearing it is.
I'm stoked for your channel. It's the only channel that shows and explains that there's several types of '82 Lincoln memorial cents. Because of your videos I purchased a scale yesterday. So, what should I do with the 1982 small date 3.1g. Lincoln Memorial Cent that I just weighed... ??? I've been in the hunt this past eight weeks and with only 10 penny rolls (almost grabbed my first box of pennies @ the bank, but the teller said they'll be new pennies and I didn't want it) and some pocket change that has given me an unbelievable discovery of rare pennies !!! The '82 I'm mentioning now was from one of the two customer rolls @ the bank. Hello Daniel. I had a great weekend I ended up getting a 1936 s wheat penny in my pocket change. I think I got something worth a a little bit. Thank You for the video
Great video. I got a tough question for you. I'm new to coin collecting and I'm wondering what if you go into a store and buy something and the cashier gives your change back. But before you went into the store somebody went in before you had a collection of coins that they inherent but they just spend it like ordinary change but the person who left it behind had their coins cleaned and you get some of these coins and think damn this is a great find but then you decide to sell it and they tell you that this coin has been cleaned and you say not by me I just wiped off a little bit with some wipes and put it in a coin flip. It could cause a little bit of confusion. I'm just asking because some of my coins looks like new. Anyway. Thank You Daniel
People need to realize that when I say that is a nice car, doesn't mean I think they made the car. So when one is told their coin is cleaned doesn't mean the dealer and accusing them of cleaning the coin.
@@CoinHELPu I didn't mean nothing bad about the question like I said it was a tough question. I was just wondering if anything like that has ever happened to someone who was new to coin collecting like me and going to sell a coin and that really happened. I was wondering if you would do a video about that. Thank You
@@charlieglover491 I never said you did mean anything bad. People are too sensitive. New or not, just because someone says a coin you have is cleaned doesn't mean they're saying you did it. I guess I don't understand your question. This happens all the time. I don't see how I could do a video on people misunderstanding a dealer telling them their coin is cleaned even though they didn't clean it.
Good morning I have a question where can I get a penny checked out I'm pretty positive I have a 1982 D Small Date Copper penny but I don't know where I can go to get it checked
Since there's small dates without a mint mark it doesn't matter. Many of these were minted at the West Point mint as well but there's no difference in the coins.
Got one exactly from your explanation of 1982-D Small date, it weighs 2.5 grams, so it is Zinc…is this coin valuable…I know the copper one is w/ 3.11 grams which is valuable…
Even if you don’t intend to melt copper pennies, which you said can’t be done, are pre-1982 Lincoln memorial pennies more valuable numismatically because of their copper content? If so, would you be able to say approximately what is the value of a pre-1982 Lincoln memorial, common date (not rare in any way) in average circulated condition? Thanks.
@@CoinHELPu I’m aware that the red book or the online price guide gives you price information on individual coins in specific dates and specific grades. Let me rephrase the question to broaden it and give it the general idea I had intended: It is a good idea, or at least makes sense to hoard pre (and including) 1982 Lincoln Memorial pennies (regardless of dates and grades) because, AS A GROUP, they are more valuable than their post-1982 counterparts. True, or false?
I wonder if you’re asking the same question that I have. I recently went through my penny collection looking for all 1982-pre pennys that are the 90% copper versions. I have all the copper pennys in one pile. I guess my question is… is that pile of copper pennys worth face value or is it worth more with the material value of the copper?
OK I'm thinking the 1982 small date d copper penny is the coin worth the most. You kinda slipped Copper in at the end of explanation while pointing at a zinc coin.

Thanks for this information I have same a lots of I need sale please tel me were I sale
Great video. I got a tough question for you. I'm new to coin collecting and I'm wondering what if you go into a store and buy something and the cashier gives your change
back.
Call a local dealer, coin club or go to a coin show.
Great job
Dan my 1982 has ate like a small day but the two looks double struck and looks like a straight 2 im confused cuz it's 8 looks small .
Thanks for the info.
Thanks for the video i have two quarter 1982 ,same to your coin will you please guide me to sell this coin, thanks
Yes, you can sell them at ebay. Just take an image and list it.
I think the mint could of made a mistake and forgot the D mint mark on some small date coppers what do you think about that is it possible
Since there's small dates without a mint mark it doesn't matter. Many of these were minted at the West Point mint as well but there's no difference in the coins.
@@CoinHELPu ok that's nice info someone else said the dies came from Philadelphia mint I guess its not possible
@@bill4572 Correct
I like that BELL lol Good video.
Had to do it, might be my new thing. lol
I hate it when people ask this constantly. Hopefully one of them are watching this and seeing the 2’s and get a scale and learn what to look for
Me too
Great Job 👍
Got one exactly from your explanation of 1982-D Small date, it weighs 2.5 grams, so it is Zinc…is this coin valuable…I know the copper one is w/ 3.11 grams which is valuable…
No it is common.
Thanks.
I recommend using the 2022 Redbook or an online price guide. Even ebay sold auctions can help with this answer.
The same as that 1982D smalldate. How much is that?
Thanks have not found one yet.
OK I'm thinking the 1982 small date d copper penny is the coin worth the most. You kinda slipped Copper in at the end of explanation while pointing at a zinc coin.
