Just got it from Amazon for $99.99. This is the only machine under $300 that listed to go beyond 8.7" deep. Excellent deal! It can detect metal wire 9" under fair consistently. You can push it even more by using the pin-point button if you generally know the direction and what you are looking for. This machine is going to save me tons of time and my back in locating random irrigation lines within 9" to 12" deep. The only cons is that it is a battery hungry machine.
Better machine than last week, and less money. You are weeding out the duds and showing people you don't have to commit a lot of dough to having fun and success to boot. I'm tickled with my Simplex, which you steered me to(Thank you), but this is very informative and satisfies our curiosity about these low priced machines. Everyone wants some bang for their bucks.
I think mine is broken, I watched this video because I lost the instructions, and adjusted the settings to fit my backyard, and it was constantly going off even when I pointed it at the sky.
Another valued review. As a beginner I didn’t ask if my purchase was waterproof or not. I just assumed. You might want to add that aspect to your presentation. 🙂
This is a nice deal. Accessories detector with a decent discrimination makes a nice detector for a beginner. Thanks for the video Quarter. Can't wait for the next one
You do a great job with the machines explaining in detail. The pin point wasn't very discriminate but it's a $109 machine. So far looks like the Stryker is the best.
People will outgrow Pretty much all machines under 200 very fast.. For just 50 more its worth it to just buy a simplex and grow with the machine instead of quickly outgrowing one thats just a bit cheaper.. But for young kids these machines are the ticket
@@rwheatley0206 what type of places do you search at? I’m in Colorado so I’m not really sure where to start maybe some reservoirs or tourist spots maybe hiking trails idk haha
For a beginning machine it looks like this one is a winner. Still will wait until you finish this series. I currently have a Bounty Hunter Pioneer EX (very dated machine with lots of limitations). Thanks Jason.
Looks good but it needs a cover for the coil so it stays safe. Not bad for the price. My first machine was close to this one I also have the Garrett ace 400 and the AT Max. They all work great found stuff with all of them. Thanks Jason for doing these videos so people can see that you don’t have to spend a lot f money to get into this hobby. Stay safe out there and god bless you. HAPPY NEW YEAR
Good honest review, great thing you are doing. I'm even interested in what you find. I dont call myself an expert but, I go as high end as I can with what i can buy. I bought an Anfibio Makro and i dont regret it. It beat up my Garret.
You did an awesome job reviewing this unit! I loved the way you used a ruler to measure the depth capabilities. I just got this machine and I got some great pointers from your video :) GL & HH
It's great to see you doing this to help those interested in getting into the hobby! Excellent Job on breaking it down and explaining the capabilities of each machine!!! Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!!
I do like that the connector for the head unit screws on and isn't one of those push in and pray it doesn't fall out connectors that some of the other cheap detectors use. I'm still hoping for a review from you on the Dr. Otek MT-XR detector too. They are about $120 on Amazon (sometimes on sale for $99) and appear to be popular and have good reviews.
Thanks for your taking the time to do this video.I just bought one of those ommo. when you say discriminate, does the picture stay on the screen when you do not want that item or is the screen blank by that item? I am going to be looking for an axle nut that is 2 inches by 1.5 inches. what do I have to have on the screen to pick it up? It is lost in grass.
When you say striker, is it more expensive? I want to buy my son and I one. We're beginner's. My son doesn't do well in crowds. So I thought this would be a good way, too get him out of the house more.
If you're looking for an inexpensive machine I would stay with American made. The Bounty Hunter Tracker IV is a very nice starter machine. It is made in the USA and has a 5 year limited warranty. It also sells for under $100.00!
@@jerrydineen2827 I would have to agree but if I could make one other suggestion for the same price as this unit you could get the new midi horde I guess that’s turning out to be a good beginning units for kids and adults as well and would probably get the same performance depth wise and might be a little more user friendly and has a few more modern features just my humble opinion
I think you should look for a used Garrett Ace any of this machines are great for beginners, that’s what I started out with. Once your son gets the hang of the detector you will have trouble keeping him in side. My grandson loves to go out with me,he is 13. Good luck.
great series...so far all but the one before this would let you know if you'd really like to detect and could easily pay for themselves until you bought a better detector.
How do you assemble the shovel and pick? The handle connected to the shovel is tight but the shovel and pick just dangle loosely Is there a way to get it tighten to use it?
Great review! I just purchased this machine, unfortunately, I'm not having much lunch with it. I spread coins out, and when I pass over each coin, this machine is NOT hearing any of them. Any help would be appreciated. Elgin
Hello wife just got me the same ommo haven't used it yet but my buddy ask me if it would detect a gold ring inside 5" thick concrete he lost his ring while poring concrete Thank you
Are you using used batteries in these tests? Second machine i've seen with only 2 bars battery.. maybe because you played with it before filming? Just curious , love the idea for taking value of change found in a year and testing the machines in that price range. Awesome.
Good morning I have a question I bought a metal detector like the one you are advertising but I am in Mexico and the truth is I do not speak English and if I would like it to be translated into Spanish thank you
Swinging it too fast. Slow down and line up the coil more "flush" with the ground (degree and angle wise). If you swing it too fast, its less effective.
isn't a Vanquish 340 $199 and for $40 more you can get a Simplex that's not a child's toy like the ommo and it's water proof' and the best bang for the buck
No doubt both are excellent machines. I’ll have a Vanquish 340 coming up later in the series. The Simplex is a little over the $200 price ceiling for this series, but it’s a machine I’d recommend in a heartbeat.
Ya , I think to many people give a review before they really try the detectors out. That’s why when I look and see a good 4 star review I look at the reviews from 4 to 5 then go read some of the worst to the 3 star. I think if people spent their money on this machine they would be turned off the hobby.
I have a machine for u to test please i think you will be very impressed by it it cost around 200 dollars it a tx 850 metal detector really think ya viewers would be interested
When I bought one I got it and it started beeping like crazy. I also adjusted the sensitivity and the same thing happened. I Unsubbed and disliked because of this

Can't wait to see what you bring out next Sunday. Really enjoy all your videos.

We picked up a ommo (the same one reviewed) last summer for my 9 year old. He loves it, finds a bunch of loose change at the campground.
I just bought one of these so I was glad to see your review. Just subbed your channel.
same! about to use it now for the first time down at a dried up creek, have you found anything cool?
