@113053284804509145800 When Obama won he removed American troops from Iraq ISIS filled the vacuum. Because Obama removed American troops from Iraq untold thousands of women and men have been raped, tortured, mutilated and killed by ISIS. Let your conscience deal with that complete truth, if you have one.
InfernoFlameZERO Bush signed the deal for America's troops to pull out of Iraq with the possibility that they should stay in Iraq if needed. Obama refused to let them stay. Obama refuses to use American troops for any fighting or defense mission, only allowing them to be advisors or using the Air Force to bomb. This is why the Islamic State problem has gotten out of control in Iraq and Syria. Obama also said that if the Assad regime in Syria used chemical weapons that he would be stepping over a forbidden line. Assad then used chemical weapons and Obama did absolutely nothing in retaliation. Obama also said that the Assad regime in Syria must be removed. Now Russia has sent massive reinforcements to Syria to support Assad and Obama is doing nothing. No one believes Obama will act, because he refuses to, so no one is afraid of Obama. And America is the only nation powerful enough to defend the innocent and oppressed and to maintain world stability, but under Obama our allies know they cannot depend on America. Even defense of our long-time NATO allies in Europe is in question under Obama. When Medvedev was president of Russia and on a trip to America Obama said, not knowing he was on camera with an open microphone, "just get the Russian heat off of me about the rocket shield America has been planning to build in Poland to defend Europe, because I have an election to win, and after I win the election I will do what Russia wants." !!! You have to give props to someone who is actually able to influence an entire american election just by impersonating someone. You can't even call it mean. Look at the real interview. A large amount of what Tina is saying in this sketch is almost exactly what Sarah Palin actually said. I love Tina Fey, she's so funny, I'm English and I'm so happy that she's well known over here now. A while ago no-one knew who she was when I talked about her but those sketches were even on the news over here, so that just shows how influential it really was. I also don't think Sarah Palin is a bad person, ill equipped for vice president but she can make fun of herself, she showed that when she appeared on SNL. I do always have respect for someone who is willing to take the criticism and make fun of themselves.
This is why satire is an essential part of a free society. It is like journalism that underlines the absurdity of it all and makes it funny. Pretty difficult thing to do coherently. For example just doing the impressions some character is not enough (the Nobel laureate Dario Fo would say impersonation is "sfotto" not satire on its own). Impressions expose surface level character flaws . Satire goes much much deeper. P.s.: I also dont think Sarah Palin is a bad person. She is just not suited for the "big roles" ,which is a shame because she is kind of adorable. Imagine Palin with the intellectual potential of Hillary Clinton. My fellow conservatives on the other side of "the pond" would win by default with a candidate like that.
I actually think this is one of the best American impressions ever. She has captured her way of talking, behaving and thinking to perfection. She's not imitating, she's being her. The opening "oh hey, you know, sure" alone is absolute gold.

They didn't even write jokes, they just read the transcript of the actual interview.
I can’t believe it’s been 10 years!!!! I remember these skits like it was yesterday. Some of the funniest moments on SNL! ❤️❤️❤️
This will never stop being TV gold! So thrilled these queens are going to make history with their Emmy win on Sunday❤️
When this first aired, live, I then went and looked up the original interview. It was frighteningly identical.
Tina Fey owned that part.... I think Palin was created to go into politics to allow Tina to parody her so so well....
WOW the voice is identical! :D The Russia statement was hilarious!
Before MTG and Boebert, there was Palin.
No where near as bad as MTG and Boebert. However yes lol
@@cmacle1 Agreed. She's not as mendacious.
This skit NEVER gets old. The genius of these women is just awesomesauce.
2024 still Epic Comedy Moment In History
Tina Fey as Sarah Palin might be the best impersonation in the history of SNL. 😂
Agree. She looks more like Sarah Palin than Sarah Palin.
She was astonishingly good at this.
the craziest thing about this sketch is how true to life it is
The sad part is some of this was word for word what Palin had said in her interview!
Oh my G-d, I needed a laugh tonight. The US has me where I can start cryin' at any news report. Tina, Amy and SNL, thank you!!!
Not nearly as embarrassing as when you watch Sarah herself.
Bout the same!

Never fails to make me laugh. Tina and Amy are GREAT!!
I just love how Amy's character is so consistent. And damn Tina, she looks and sounds so alike playing Sarah.
