Just downloaded this game yesterday. So far it reminds me of a more grown up Tropico. I'm looking forward to many hours of learning and beating the mechanics.
What is the difference? they both might be the same, I want to play City Skyline, but I think I just have to wait for City Skyline 2 coming up in this year.. Cant wait
I’ve always wanted to play this but never had a pc to play it on! So seeing this on console is amazing and I’ve been loving it since release! And it’s really beautiful on a 4k tv and running on a next gen console! It’s got a couple bugs like an occasional crash, some audio bugs when you zoom into the city sometimes but overall it’s been amazing!
Just a fyi if you do L1 trigger will bring up tools menu and one is the copy and paste any amount of building placement so you can do a quick build of a section of city onto any island you own so you do not have to outright build individualy all over again or paste sections you have created to expand your original island Also the upgrade tool also allows you to upgrade multiple buildings at once
I’ve been looking forward to this since I saw it was coming out on Xbox. Haven’t gotten it yet, but this review sure helps. Been playing Anno games since the first one, 1602 on my Win 95 computer lol
I've been enjoying the free trial on PS5 and can see myself buying it, especially at £35. Only issue I've had (on PS5, don't know about Xbox) is that when trying to resume game after PS5 has been in rest mode the game won't launch. Good video btw 👍
@@LPeck1985 yeah sometimes when I zoom in really close it can take a second for some building textures to load. I like zooming in though and seeing little people going about their business!
@@killbill71 Ah thank god. I thought that it may of been the settings on my TV. I just thought it a little annoying about the rendering, as I also like to look at the animations of life cracking on with tasks etc. I just started the trial tonight, and I'm thinking of buying the game. I haven't played an ANNO game since my PC days. I'm glad that you are enjoying it. 👍
@@united1990 That is a fair point. I haven't played Anno 1800 at all, so having the base game on the PS5 should suffice enough since I can't miss what I never had.
They said there are no plans for it. It can change of course but it depends on how well the game sells. Releasing cosmetic packs is easy but porting over expansions requires investing more resources into the console version. There is plenty of content in the base game and it's not being sold for full price. I think it's a good deal for those who can't play this on PC. If you have a PC capable of playing Anno 1800 then obviously that version will be the better choice for you.
@@Jscrewvall omg yes! definitely choose pc if that's an option. you get more regions, biggers islands, new set of citizen tiers, and a lot of the mods have just as much content as a dlc
@@TheCriticallyClueless been playing this for 3 solid days now, every chance I get. Got to say…. It’s brilliant, beautiful and easy to play, took a bit to understand the farmer/worker caste system and how upgrading houses changed the dynamic of your population, but once I understood that things really took off. Your review really gave me the nudge I needed to get this game and I really don’t regret it at all. Thanks again….
Great review. These always looked good but never on Consoles before, at least not that I noticed. I do though see there 9 packs at £3.99 that do only look cosmetic but maybe not!
@@TheCriticallyClueless Is this to do with when zoomed out textures appear sloppy and lowly detailed?? if so, I thought it would be something inherent with the console release since it is an extremely processor intensive game, so I thought they had to compromise on render distance.
I’ve been on the fence with this game for ages. It’s my style and wish listed on Xbox. 50% right now so I figured I’d watch a review. You should get a cut of the sale.
Does anyone actually know how to change skins of buildings or ships? The only thing I will say is the game does get very stressful when you have to start managing multiple islands Oh and on cdkeys it’s £28
Hmm, while it's nice that this series is finally coming out on console, if the PC version of this came out in 2019, I wonder why is it "only" coming out for "next gen" consoles and why did it not come out on PS4 and Xbox One close to three years ago?! 😯😂🩲😀🤘 Anyway, even if it's "only" on "next gen" consoles, that's good, but it means that I and many others still won't be playing it anytime soon, until the PS5 in particular comes down to a more reasonable price! I still haven't touched Tropico 6 after playing Tropico 5 to death, so I can (and will have to) wait for this game, but as said, surely it could have come up on "last gen" by now! 😯😂😀🤘 . (On the "last gen" consoles, while I'm very happy that Sony and Microsoft fully support the PS4 and Xbox One, however it's long enough into each systems' lifecycle that both companies should developers to create PS4:Pro and Xbox One X patches and games specifically for them, to get best out of the last few years of the generation! 😯😀🤘🤞
Been having a lot of fun with this on my ps5. As a ex pc gamer I’m glad more strategy and city building games are coming to console.
Why are you an ex-pc gamer? I’m curious. :)
Same... RTS is my favorite genre, thank God they're becoming more popular on console.

Its a game for Tropico fans but not a game for City Skyline fans.

Anno 1800 and tropico are strategy games. (war and trade elements.) City skylines is a deep city building game.
Idk about that. I love city skylines but hated Tropico. Love this game tho and Crusader kings
I like City Skyline and Age Of Empires so Anno might work for me.
Bit late to the party but it's a game for neither, it's a game for Anno fans. Anno is awesome in its own right and has been for years!!

How do you find the rendering of buildings and the like when zoomed in? I find that it takes a few seconds to render the details.

Yeah that’s what’s stopping me getting it. Not away to pay full price for a game that will be lacking in many features compared to pc.
