This is one of the games I couldn't finish as a kid =D it seemed so hard for me at that time. I hate ostrich-riding levels.
For me I got to the boulder level as a kid and that one was hard for me! 😆

Yeah. The ostrich part sucked. They should have at least got rid of lives, so you could continue endlessly.

Played back in 2000! Nostalgic! It was the best graphics game at that time to me! Music was too good!
Im impressed with the animation on simba on the other stuff..this could really be mistaken for a licensed game...also simba can roar explosions in the nes version

@@ExtremeWreck ikr, its..crazy to think about, I guess most of the budget went to the 16-bit games, why did they even bother making an nes version? So that last gen players dont get left out??

Eh, the NES wasn't a best seller in the UK and most of Europe, so I doubt most people have even played this version. Even then, there's no excuse for this baffling level of poor quality considering how good the Sega Master System version is.
@@ultrairrelevantnobody1862 they pulled the same thing with the aladin on nes, where all the did was port the gameboy version

When the Bootleg version is better than the Licenced version
I remember first time seeing the 16 bit version after a long time spent playing this one and I could hardly believe my eyes. I mean the 16 bit one had like 100 times more colors it was inconceivable. But more shock came when I saw the leaves falling down the moment Simba jumps on a tree. That was another universe from what I was used to. Still got a lot of fond memories playing it on NES though.
yeah, first time i saw the DOS version, i hardly believed my eyes. THe scenery, the sprite animation, so perfect, and the canyon scene mind blowing.

I mean the text in the SNES says "ROAR AT MONKEYS" before the title of the stage shows up, so...
Pretty sure this bootleg port was made in NTSC speed & NTSC Famiclones in mind.

Whoever ported this mainly failed only at the sounds. That roar sucks.
It's a weird game, it has pretty ok music, GREAT animations but terrible color pallet.
