MPhil/PhD

Our extensive research training for MPhil/PhD students consists of: (i) an initial foundation programme that covers different approaches, assumptions and philosophies guiding research and introduces you to a range of tools, techniques and methods used in empirical work; (ii) a programme of Advanced Methods workshops, providing support relevant to the second and third years of your project; (iii) a very full programme of subject-specialist seminars run by the Research Centres. Many of these sessions are constructed around students' own research problems, and all of them provide extensive opportunities for students to learn from one another. Students are also encouraged to participate in the training provided by the College-wide KISS-DTC.
