Correction - imagine doing something similar with any white culture or christian religion backup. And I mean doing that in Europe, not even NZ. It would face only hate - unlike cannibal war dances which somehow are considered beautiful and "diverse" (yeah Im sure maori had so diverse and tollerant approach to their neighbours...).

For those who didn't get the context, "The Māori language was suppressed in New Zealand in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The government implemented policies to assimilate Māori people into European culture. The language was suppressed in schools, either formally or informally, to ensure that Māori youngsters assimilated with the wider community. Some older Māori still recall being punished for speaking their language".

Just like if a black doesn't like being called the n word doesn't mean he's not happy about him being black.

The government implemented policies to assimilate Māori people into European culture. The language was suppressed in schools, either formally or informally, to ensure that Māori youngsters assimilated with the wider community. I accept what he did for me. Wash away my all sins and fill me with the Holy Spirit and give me the whole truth I don't want to be deceived anymore and shown me that I may know that I am saved. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ I pray Amen.
It works he never fails. Ask ye shall receive!!!

This is the future of India, if the Central Gov tries to impose Urdu/hindi on rest of the country either formally or informally killing the native culture.

They are your kin if you can come out of bigotry. You have already lost half of your language to English-a foreign language.

Lovely. This transcends through generations and cultures. I'm mainly native Mexican and I felt the strength and fight within the words and chants. Honestly idk why I'm crying but it feels like tears of sorrow and wonderment . What a world it would have been if we all (our natives) gathered together and resisted against one another to fight the bigger enemy. Who knows, even so glad to have a young woman represent the natives in a far away land. I wish you the best and hope this 'aboriginal ' woman is herd.
