Everyone of these videos are drawing a big smile on my face. 60 years later there's people analyzing bar by bar the Beatles songs. Can't get enough of it
Makes you appreciate the British Invasion and realize how many of those bands disappeared what is still remembered. Beatles, Stones, Kinks, Herman's Hermits and the Dave Clark Five the die quickly in the States yet had a world wide market.
I’m almost 70, watched the Beatles on Ed Sullivan, been playing guitar since 1966 and may finally learn this song. Thanks, Mike
Me too!!
Time for you to drop out of art school and start a band sonny!
Exactly the same here!
I am 73 years old and the same thing has happened to me
Yeah… I’m 70… took lessons starting at age 8 till 14. Got in my first band at 12. Saw the lads on Ed Sullivan too. Changed my life as I’m sure it did a lot of young guys at that time!
The more we learn about George, the more we respect what he accomplished, often on short notice.
Extremely under=rated....knew his chords - inside and out.
@@lyndamcardle4123 yes, Extremely overlooked, and to think he was almost to sick with the FLU, to play on ED Sullivan FEB. 9th, 64
@@lyndamcardle4123 onm.
it's amazing that they all kept up with each other's pace as far as advancement..
And poor George walks in during "A HARD DAYS NIGHT " and John calls him the ' Filthy Englander ' ...so hilarious that...!!
The reason I play guitar is George Harrison. The master of taste and exactky what's needed. We could all wax lyrical on the the genius of John and Paul. But their's would be a lesser accomplishment without the subtle grandeour of George to bring out the the brilliance of The Beatles. Thank you Mike for articulating the 'quite one's' contribution the the Beatles' overall excellence.
I totally agree. Best regards. Fabrice
It took all four, every time. Well, except Yesterday...
So true
Yes and Ringo did the same for this wonderful band!
The "quite one" indeed! 😉
This man is THE Beatles transposer. Never seen them closer. The Mark Lewisohn of Beatles transposing.
Beatle spotting.
He is the Carl Sagan ..... the Ken Burns of Beatledom ... and for that we are much grateful.
Speaking of Mark Lewisohn, when is the second book of his trilogy coming out? According to his website, "It won’t be in 2020, or in 2021, or in 2022. 2023? No promises, but it’s possible." I guess we'll all have to Tune In and see!
I don't think that word means what you think it means.
@@thinkandbefree9398 I’m patient. The first book was jaw dropping.
You've no idea how marvelous you sound singing She Loves You. the clarity of the instruments and the enthusiasm. 80 years from now people with love this video. Thank you Mr. Pachelli.
David - Wow, thank you!
You said exactly what I had in mind!..
@@benjamindsouza2782 yeah, me too. the best performance video by mike ever. it has the same excitement as the beatles. marvelous!
I'm 65 and still love this band. As a musician there is nothing simple about these tunes either, songs today are easier.
That is so true! There was so much substance in the Beatles' songs. It was in songwriting where they really shone above most other bands.
Great to hear the Beatles songs played properly. So many people including musicians say Beatles songs are easy, they are only easy if you don´t play them correct with the right chord structure and licks and then they sound crap.
That they sound easy is the genius of them.
I agree....played electric blues and slide for years and years. Thought i'd try some Beatle songs for the first time last year. My fingers have never had such a workout on chord structures. Absolute genius and so tight as a band
And your bird can sing a perfect example how good George Harrison's guitar playing was
That was really awesome Mike! It sill boggles the mind at how they were able to come up with all those variations in chord progressions & also write incredible lyrics. To me it was pure musical genius. Thanks for these videos. Be well & stay safe......... 👍😉👏🎸🎤👍😉
I guess I'm a little late to the party but I just discovered this channel and it is amazing. Like others have said, most Beatle lessons on RUclips are simplified versions and it is only when you see it correctly displayed with all the different parts that you understand how genius the fab four were. And I like how you put it all together at the end and play these songs and you do it very very well. Thank you, Mike! Share the music and share the joy...
KBoege - You are most welcome and yeah -those young lads were brilliant the way they'd put a song together. Each part fits together perfectly! You have a good ear for noticing that.
You make me feel 14 years old again. That's not easy to do.
Most excellent. My favorite Beatle song to play. If you can't have fun playing this one, what CAN you have fun playing? Jut think, when this ws released, it was not good enough to play on American radios. All that changed of course after"I Want to Hold Your Hand". No wonder the Beatles had all top 5 songs in the charts and 7 of the top 10 at one time in 1964. Even a simple song such as this one needs your insight to break it down into what went into it. The Beatles understood harmony. Not just vocal harmony, but instrument harmony. That, and being anxious to change and experiment, was why they were so much better than everyone else. Thank you for doing this

This song changed my life. Heard it first when I was 11.
Same here. Lucky to have heard it at age 10.
Me too. Same age.
yup!!!! still carries the same energy
Same, although I was 5 at the time, it just leapt out of the radio!
I was 10
Great performance and breakdown of arguably the best pop record ever
I CANNOT DISAGREE WITH THAT
Damn straight
Was not really my favorite Beatles song but, jeez, quite rich in texture. Like most Beatles' songs, there are so many subtle parts to the whole. 60 yrs later and I'm still discovering the Beatles!
George's second final link is awesome
I mean just jazz musicians did it before
and Chet Atkins
Andres Molina - It truly is! No matter what the influence - George's usage of it is PURE genius!!
You can parse the song "in my life"
Great recording, by the way. You sing those parts very well!
Thank you very much!
@@MPfrance As Paul would say!
I'm 66. And I've lived with their music all my life. I played, I play and I sing their songs. But I've never thought about what the genius of their music is. Melodicity is the beauty of the sound, undoubtedly. But only now I understand that the main thing is in the little things, the combination of little things in their beautiful music. They are in each of their songs, little things that add a certain charm, beauty of sound. This is their genius.
I love how Mike teaches us the importance of George. I no longer see George as secondary to John and Paul. They may have wrote the framework of the songs, but they needed George to turn the songs into awesomeness.
George's contribution gave that song an edge, without it I doubt it would of had the same impact.
Since Mike has been doing the Beatles stuff, I had no idea how great George is on all these recordings.......I got a new 'hero'.................along with Mike !
I completely agree, George's playing always fit the song and he was actually the very first guitarist I looked up to and he's still one of my personal guitar heroes
I like to request the lesson of " I'm happy just dance with you". Especially John's part.
Fantastic Mike. Great to see how George played those descending licks.
Im 70, I was a Beatles Fan from the beginning and i am still a Beatles fan an enjoy very much to play Beatles songs in guitar classic style with the help of the great lessons of Mike
Hadn’t seen this one till now (25 July 2022). Mike gives me goosebumps with every breakdown. And the performance track is like being in the studio with the lads! Makes me cry with so much respect.
I feel the same way!..
GOOD LESSON! Can you do "Can't buy me love"?
wow. I had no idea George threw in sooo many complex chords for what I "thought" was a simple song. Thanks Mike!
Can’t agree with you more, not just the chords the intricate guitar solos also. The simplicity and complexity seems to be inherent in all their songs, a genius combination. It’s not until Mike here has brought it to your attention that you really get to appreciate their talent.
Mike, that was really FAB! Please, more tutorials like this.
Thankyou. Today is December 8th 40 years later John's passed away. This video makes me cry, because I miss John a lot. God bless you.
Yeah as a 61 year old who wishes that he had significant guitar talent, and envies those that do, I can say that the Beatles songs are not at all simple. They were fairly complex arrangements. And to this day, i still marvel at all of the wonder of creative stuff they did. If you listen, they were INVENTING so much interesting stuff that NOBODY else had the guts to try. Their producer, George Martin, is often considered the 5th Beatle because of his contributions to their music. Like them or dislike them, anybody who dismisses their work just simply doesn’t know what they are talking about.
Once again, good job Mike on both parts. The Beatles were so melodic & creative.
WOW!!!!!!! THANK YOU, MIKE, FOR THIS INCREDIBLY FUN, INSPIRING, AND EXCELLENT VIDEO LESSON!!!! INCREDIBLY GREAT BEATLES MUSIC!!!....
Although there are countless other candidates, this might be my favorite Beatles song, and Mike has only amplified that here (especially George's part on the second "yeah, yeah yeah" at the end).
HOWEVER...
Let us not overlook Ringo's contribution here. The opening fill ignites the song, and the accents after each "yeah, yeah, yeah" add an edge that would have left the song flat without them.
I could never quite put my finger on what made this song so poignant despite its upbeat approach. Thank you for showing me Mike after all these years.
It's Georges descending chord voicings at the end. So evocative of a feeling of loneliness.💚
Brilliant Mike! Harrison I mean wow. I have always though he was way way underrated. To this day his stuff at what 19 is was some of the coolest guitar I have heard.
You really nailed it Mike! I feel like I'm 14 again, telling my father that I wanted a guitar, after watching Ed Sullivan. Still playing!
When did you get a twin?!
Haydeano 1901 - At birth of course! :-)
@@MPfrance You don't have a twin right, you just pullin our leg right ?
Just want to confirm the detail and accuracy of Mike's Beatles' history section. Not only did I live through the Beatles' era, I have studied them, and their respective lives ad nauseam. Great job on this video.
By far the best Beatles tutorials. I’m a huge Beatles fan but after these tutorials I walk away with an even bigger appreciation for their genius and originality. They really were one of a kind. By the way, your recordings are awesome! Thank you for what you do!
This is quickly becoming my favorite guitar youtube channel....the Beatles catalog is a music college start to end
Hey Mike. Thanks for the great lesson. Couldn’t help but noticing that the riff George plays has similar notes to Smoke on The Water, Man on a Silver Mountain and a bit of Burn. Be interesting to see what Ritchie Blackmore would think of that. Smoke having its origins in She Loves You!
Art - I never looked at the riff like that - but I see what you mean. And thanks for subscribing to my channel!
I liked this video so much. The George's part is amazing... I loved that D7 in the verses... and the classic lick... Many thanks Mike.
Brilliant. Many thanks. I was 12 at the time and drove from the Coventry to the Liverpool docks in a lhd triumph spitfire (it’s a long story) and had this song come to life when I got there.
Your videos are ridiculously detailed! I can't believe the time you spend listening closely to the songs. Very impressive!
Glad you like them!
A gentleman carrying an Italian name living in France and speaking American...confusing. But this surely is the most in depth analysis about the Beatle recordings ever in the history, all the questions in my teenage were answered! Thank you so much. Tell us please more about yourself!
Mike, your are a genius !! I love so much the way you explain the chords and licks, so friendly so smooth,. Thank you so much for your videos !!!!!!! I really enjoy your teaching. Congratulation :-)
Ben Harton - You are very kind. But I am in NO WAY, SHAPE or FORM a "genius." I just happen to have, perhaps, pretty good ears.
@@MPfrance A humble genius! The best!
@@MPfrance
You certainly do. Great job, Mike. A pleasure and a thrill.
Back in the day, we'd never heard anything like it. Totally new, upbeat, and a happy tune.
I was 14 when they showed up, what a tremendous happening,
@@jelau4851 nothing before compares to the moment we heard the Beatles singing She Loves You the first time back in the Sixties.
This is really cool! The first 45 I ever bought .. And the reason I became a musician.
When i was a young-un i was instantly smitten by this song! It sounded so different from anything i'd ever heard before...and now i know why. Thanks!
Even with a simple song like "She Loves You" the Beatles displayed their genius. Hey Mike why the move to France?
why not!
is not that simple really...
half dimished chords, augmented chords...
sure it's very in-genius
I love the Cm chord. You don't expect it as it's not diatonic. Really lifts the tune. It's these little magic touches which make The Beatles so great.
Jim Habash - My thoughts exactly!!
Southern France? Mmmm great food. Brilliant weather (in the summer) close proximity to loads of capitals... why not!
Brilliant mike ! I wish you tube was around when I was struggling to learn the songs I love
Your massive, infectious enthusiasm is exceeded only by you your brilliant dissection and instruction. You are a pure artist, Mike!
Thanks for another great lesson!
J
Those guitars sounds like heaven
Thank you very much😂 wonderfull work Mike. Awesome teaching, Genius.
Hi Mike, I also have the Country Classic. "She Loves You" is the first Beatle song that George used his Country Gentleman on a recording. Enjoy your enthusiasm.
Outstanding as always Mike
I was mainly a self-taught ringo-style drummer until I was about 18 in 1970. Had you been around for me back then, i would have had a hard time choosing my instrument.
Mike- brilliant, inspiring job on figuring out the pure magic of the Beatles. What is even more astounding is that these guys were doing all of this in their early 20's. Are you kidding me?!?! Such cool, clever writing, playing and singing- it is unbelievable that this actually ever happened in human history. I rank the Beatles right up there with Tesla, Einstein and Edison for pure brilliance.
Fun fact. "She Loves You" is Stephen King's favorite The Beatles song
Excellent, Mike (Roger James - Singer & Songwriter, Watford WD24 5LW, Enngland) x
Hello my friend, kind regards from Madrid, i think this beatiful song defines the BEST Beatles Time.❤
Keep them coming my friend your great
Your videos are EXACTLY what I have been looking for!!! I have tried to figure this song out so many times! I love your enthusiasm for the guitar parts! Thank you so much 🎸🙌🏼
Super props Mike, it so neat to see the breakdowns of these songs. I'm so amazed at the knowledge and expertise these guys possessed at such young ages. Truly amazing.
Kudos to the rest of you old farts as well who have stuck with it. ! Concur with all the Old Guy Posts I had to check to see if I was the one who posted. Identicall type journeys.
That's fantastic. I can't believe how much effort you put into making this (effing) video. It's perfect! Kudos, man
This song made Beatlemania . So much energy. So much talent.
Mike you are the best ive seen play The Beatles songs i think youre great i believe you play in The Fab Four am i right ?
Hey you’re the first guy on youtube who can sing the Chorus actually sounding like the Beatles, not sounding like some phony accents that even Beatle bands do. I was in a Beatles tribute band in the mid 70s in Chgo area called Blackbird, and we did She loves you Chorus like you did. We didn’t look like them so we had to go for the sound. We pretty much nailed most Beatles songs. Mind you we were doing a tribute to Beatles before Elvis died. From 76-81
ANOTHER GEM!!!!
well done!!!!!!
revered this song for 55+ years
Would love to hear your comment on the amazing vocal harmonies that they do at the end of the song and in the choruses.
just wonderful.
Hi Mike , as a very average player as I am I just love your videos made especially unique by the history lesson at the beginning.
I’m learning , with the help of your lessons , all of theses classics and I feel my playing is definitely improving .
Stellar stuff thanks a million Mike.
The facts are the fab 4 were natural born geniuses in all the music they made...that's the talent of an original artist ...they knew how to make melodies that made you happy and gave that fun witty feel.......wow...!!!
Wow Mike, I had no idea you could sing like that! Your guitar playing is impressive enough, but adding singing along with it takes you to another level of awesome!
and his twin ain't bad either! haha
Charlie - That's very kind of you to say. I realize I am NO WAY as good a singer as John, Paul & George. I just have fun doing it.
Phil X says John Lennon played the guitar like he was mad at it.
Your enthusiasm and Beatles knowledge are without equal on RUclips. Love your Vids!
Mike your dedication to deciphering The Beatles Guitar playing is amazing. It's also so cool you put it all together at the end and do your best version of their songs, .George just had such a knack for playing the right response to John's rhythm Guitar. Fill in the space but don't overwhelm . I may be biased but Lennon , Townshend and Richards are the best Rhythm Guitarists from the Golden era of Rock n Roll. Thanks again Mike I go through many of your videos . You have made a great contribution to the Guitar community .
Thanks Al - and extra thanks for being a subscriber!!
What would this song be without George? What would the Beatles have been?
Mike you did it again, right on with interesting music info on the songs of the BeaTles. She Loves You i would say is a very explosive and powerful song at that time and being about 14 when i heard this song was soooo different than anything at that time and probably blew away the competition of that time. Steve Lawrence , Go Away Little Girl I believe came out about that time very tame, nice but when She Loves You came out that was the end of the old school singing and writing. The Fab four sure made a mark in music and GLAD you can explain the innards of there music which i enjoy. Their music will live on forever as it should for there musical genius of four young lads that were far more talented than most bands at the time. The 60s of my life were the greatest growing up and listening to not only the BeaTles but the English invasion. I can only dream of playing half decent guitar but watching you explain there music makes me hungry to try better. Your awesome, keep up with the Fab Four ! South of France? You an engineer in music there? Maybe next time give us all some insight of what you do,married, children and what got you started in guitar etc. Thanks again
Mike Pachelli = The Blond Beatle(s)! Seriously, this is a pretty cool study. The original chords have always grabbed my gut, and you have unlocked the mystery.
The reason I graduated as a composer is these Fab Four! I guess, all of us remember freezing in the floor, listening to those sounds of incredible, almost alien sort of freedom, and this astonishing, if you please, "child-alike" joy, so easily understood by a kid, as it happened with me back there in eighties and, perhaps, still happening with our brothers and sisters around the globe this very moment.
Thank you so very much for all of your videos, I'm living my cheerful moments throughout the day with them!
Great video.... as always.
Thanks again.
George was awesome!!!!!
That was ABSOLUTELY FAB That ending Mike..!! George was far more inventive than people gave him Credit for IMO ....
What a great analysis and explanation! But everyone knows what a extraordinary guitarist and teacher Mike is. Most surprise how he can sing the Beatles voices. Absolutely amazing!!!
Great job as always, and you got the head shake down pretty well.
I'm 71, and although I admired George enormously for his intricate contribution on guitar, I always find myself drawn to listening to John's equally important rhythm work (something I'm still working on!). I'm passionate about his awesome sound on the latter recordings (a la The White Album), particularly on songs such as "Sexy Sadie", a seemingly simple tune. Just awesome. I'd love to see a break down of that one. Any chance Mike?
That was the song that grabbed me back in the day...
I was never the same after that.
I have watched this video so many times .... I salute the Brilliance of the Beatles ... and I salute your salute to the four lads. You are a wonderful, talented and joyful Beatles emissary, archivist, historian, interpreter and preserver of their legacy for all to enjoy forever more.
Mike, in my humble opinion, She Loves You is the greatest pop song ever recorded. The way you broke this down and explained it was genius. I don't play guitar but I was mesmerised by your teaching and explanation. Then you put it all together at the end perfectly. We'll never see the like of The Beatles again but you did this wonderful song justice. Thank you so much!
Your a breath of fresh air m8
Wonderful great John Lennon voice brilliant
Thanks Mike, it was good to see all of that explained. Even a non-musician like me can follow along.
Gracias mike te las mandaste
Hold Your Hand is the ultimate Beatles song, period! When I heard it I was in shock. What The Hell Was That! So much for Per y Faith. Years later Frankie Valli writes the ultimate co.plimentary ,,,,
Song Oh What a Night late December back to in 63 day as Sherri gets blasted out of number 1 by the Beatles. Oh yeah I got a funny feeling when she walked into the room. ..I was never going to be the same.. what a lady what a night .
Love these videos so good curious why you live in France
Did the " yeah, yeah , yeah " come from the Hayley Mills movie 1962 " the parent trap " in the song written by the Sherman Brothers ?
Keep in mind Paul later wrote the theme song for a Hayley flick " the family way ". Something to think about.
Timothy Flyte - the Parent Trap had limited UK release until its re-release in 1968 so I'm doubting that. Plus - it's SO corny by Haley Mills that I'm betting it would have been doomed and unusable by the lads if they'd heard it. Cynthia Lennon said that in 1958 John signed a x-mas card "'Our first Christmas, I love you, yes, yes, yes." So it appears to be a phrase that John used before and prolly turned 'hipper' by saying "yeah, yeah, yeah" - much to the chagrin of Paul's dad.
George was the guitar virtuoso of our time.
One more thing its hard to believe what a command of thd instrument George possesed.and how young he was at the time.4 amazing individuals.Great perfomance of the song Mike you are such a talented musician and great performer!
Mike, I really enjoy you Beatles lessons. Thanks and Peace to you!
Mike, How on earth did you work out those George & John parts in such detail?? After all it's not the greatest sounding mono recording. You're a genius!! (John's acoustic was plugged into an amp - making it sound electric). I've actually done a pretty good remix from the mono recording - to replicate a 2 track stereo mix similar to the other mixes of 1963. Tiger.
Man, you’re just great! Thanks!
I have been wanting to learn this one!! Great!!
Your enthusiasm is infectious, and your teaching is clear and concise, Mike. Many thanks, mate. 👍
