I am sure you are tired of seeing comments on this video by now, but I just watched and was impressed. I do a little wood working and have been asked to build a picnic table for a friends child. Your example is great. I will pick up materials in the morning and complete before the weekend is over. I think I will enjoy the project and I know she will enjoy the picnic table. Thanks my friend.
By far the best instructional video on this project that I have seen. Clear, concise, succinct, perfect level of detail and technique explanation. And all without self publicity - Just what I was looking for and needed.
I recently decided to build my kids a picnic table and came across a couple of videos. Honestly, of all the other videos I watched, I feel yours was the most clear and understanding for myself so I really enjoyed it! Thank You! Keep up the great work!
Awesome video bud.. Keep up the good work. It's the first video that I have seen on here, (and I have seen many) that you give the measurements to each piece. Will be watching for more video's from you...
John Higgens and George Potts Thank you both so much! I'm working on my next video and have been for a month, my mortiser broke and I'm waiting on parts.
What’s funny is I just built one today with these exact dimensions on everything he did with spacing angles and how’s it’s assembled. I got the plans off googling it and went off the blueprints. This kids getting views off of making a table from someone else’s blueprint. It’s fine if anyone thinks I’m wrong but everything is the exact same from the 2x6 on the top with half inch spacing all the way to everything else being cut and built the same.
Riley, my 2 1/2 screws are going threw the deck boards when I’m doing the pocket holes. Should I switch to 2 1/4. My jig and drill bit are both set at 1 1/2
Hello! Great video! I will be making one of these for my kids off of your blueprint. There's only one thing I'm unsure about. When you mention the height of the table, I believe you say 30". This table doesn't look 30" tall. And by going off of the leg measurements you provide, it seems it should be shorter. Hope you can reply. Thanks!
al Robinson I don't think you realize how much that means to me, thank you so much! A lot of people don't give people like me who I feel have decent skills because we're "kids." If you have any questions about it just shoot me a message and I'll b glad to answer it!
oh wow, go for it! i work in construction making cold formed steel buildings and i just finished a aerospace builing in canada. i have been watching yes, liked the beer holder and i loved seeing you with steve ramsey. he taught me to woodwork!
al Robinson LOL thank you but that was not me. His name used to be thewoodworkingteen but since he's changed it to Alex Harris, he lives in the UK and is a great guy. I would love to work with Steve one day but am just starting out.
Probably the best instructions on the internet well done young man.
Very impressive and I appreciate your measurements and your detail. Very impressive to see a young man with such great building skills.

How can I get a set of plans to build the kids picnic table? I’d like to build it for my grandkids
Is the wood treated or untreated?
Thanks for sharing big man
Do u have the plans I would like to build theses for my kids
Good video dude!
the seat slats look like 2x4s. is that so? what do you sell them for?
How long it took you to build this
Nice looking little table. Are you able to paint it since its pressure treated?
Ohio Digger Yes you can, but why? It is already made for outdoor use.
I'd like to make one and paint the frame white and maybe do the top and seat in pink. My niece is 3. I'd think she'd really like one.
Do a video demonstrating that Craig Jig.
Dr. Amy Cecere Please check back later today I will have one posted for you.
+Dr. Amy Cecere It's a Kreg Pocket Hole Jig. There are plenty of tutorials on RUclips.
