Nice shirt Cassidy haha
Is Ichiban even still alive, it’s been years since he put out a video.
Do clean keto for 3-6 weeks the transition to vertical diet, find maintainace, then start carb cycling, it will work.
If you're going to teach her how to ride a motorcycle, don't forget to teach her about counter steering.
There's a pretty graphic video on RUclips that shows a guy who didn't understand counter steering and drove right into a truck. Fortunately, it was a fire truck. He survived because of the EMS guys on board and immediate care.
1:33 Pass the mic!
Craig, the bearded mechanic is def the best motorcycle mechanic on RUclips!
Facts
Word!
The orange wire nuts give it just the right amount of AMF
Seems to be short 10 or so wire nuts
@@brianculbertson4288it's a trick because as we all know AMF Shovel Evos had lava lamps installed at the factory
Hahahaha
Josh will be in trouble when folks finally figure out how good hearted he is.
Beastie Boys - Pass the mic!! "My name is MCA and I still do what I please" - RIP. Happy New Year to everyone!
My number 1 is pacific Mike! He is the Bob Ross of old Harleys.. happy little Harleys lol
I’ve watched a lot of his vids!
+1 on Pacific Mike. He is the Bob Ross of motorcycles!! Hell yea!!!
When it comes to motorcycle mechanics, it´s hard to beat Allen Millyard.
You mechanic just like i do.. do most of it twice.. youre not afraid to give it a whirl and figure it out. Love you vid's
I would buy that from you in a heartbeat..... I had an 84 same model...
My Uncle had the same bike, there is no better name than the "Cream Machine"for this beast
I'd your cream is brown see a doctor
Calling him a mechanic doesn't begin to describe what he is. The best motorcycle engineer, builder, mechanic and enthusiast? on RUclips is one Allen by God Millyard. I never miss a Pacific Mike or Kruesi Originals video but Millyard stands alone.
Undeniable
Master Milly👏
Couldn’t agree more, Millyard is the MAN
Yes the 5l radial engined bike whew
Best motorcycle mechanic on RUclips, is hands down tatro machine.
My boss and I once spent almost 3 hours looking for a bolt that had fallen into his top pocket on his shirt!
Talking about doing things the right way while blatantly ignoring two orange wire nuts 😂😂😂 I love it!
Don't have a best mechanic, but I'd let whoever pinstriped that Tour Glide pinstripe my horse trailer if I ever bought one.
Imperfection is what makes this channel great, bad people doing some good things.
Ya gotta love the optimism. Also love the Huffy crash pad! But for Cassidy? There just ain't the words. That girl takes 'em away. Oh, I have to see this hobo swamp wizard in costume video. .
Without that bike, people riding them road glides wouldn’t know what to do with themselves today I don’t think🤷🏽♂️😂😂
Best mechanic in youtube land, Jared Weems perhaps 🤔 He is pretty damn good! And i have to say that i do find your videos amusing and sometimes even informative. So keep on making this videos for yourself so that they continue to be amusing and sometimes informative. I like it! 💥👍🏼
Love the Beige Bomber! And it’s an ‘82, same year yours truly came to be! I must have this bike. It’s my birthright!
I really like that Tour Glide. I'm going to ride one when I grow up some day. ( Right now I'm 63 )
I've only ridden for about 3 years now . I like the videos of your travels. I've been a truck driver for around 30 something yrs now and I like noticing some of the roads I've traveled from your videos . I'd rather travel by day being able to see more.
I've got plans to ride the motorcycle back up to Blue ridge where I use to live. ( It's across the ocoe river from Ducktown Tn ) so far I've made it to just below Atlanta to visit my son. I live in Brunswick now by Jekyll Island
2Vintage gets my vote for best MX mechanic. Every step is meticulously explained. Saved me hours of trouble shooting with old carbs/2 strokes!
I got my Rapstar order the devil rides, a triumph T-shirt and I can’t believe this thing fits perfectly! I absolutely love this shirt I’m a real big guy, big and tall. I wear a six sack cause I like a shirt a little bit baggy on me, but I have a hard time fitting my wide shoulders and my long torso in a shirt this one just matched everything plus it goes over my big gut tooshould’ve ordered two more if they’re around next month I’m definitely gonna order a couple more! Very happy with that
Can we petition for more Joe The Mountain Jedi on the channel? He's a trip to listen to everytime.
Ok, I'll gain weight so there's more of me🤣
Seriously tho, I'll be around here and there!
@@JoeTheMountainJedi score!
For $99 at harbor freight you can get a 12 ton air hydraulic that adapts to the HF lift
I also want to say Happy New Year's to all of you. Hopefully it's gonna be a great one this year
When I purchased my Tour Glide during the 80s brakes were considered an optional extra, absolutely loved it until I had a head on collision with drunk driver, still remember to this day laying on the road watching his drive shaft bearings role into the curb, cut the thing in half like a knife through butter, however, I did had a bit of work to do to the front end Oh and had to wait a few weeks for some skin to grow back and a couple of toe nails, have to say that if I'd of hit the vehicle on a motorcycle of less weight I doubt I would of got the chance to watch those bearings role around the highway like mad dun Beatles,... Love the Diversity in this episode Dude.
Glad ya made it through my man!
Pacific Mike would be my favorite RUclips mechanic. His videos are great and have a lot of useful information.
There are a lot more that I like though.
I truly enjoy your videos, all of them.
Man I feel every second of this video. My first exposure to shovels was in 83 or 84 when I bought a 79 Lowrider. My God, you'd think no one at Harley even knew how a butt splice worked, much less a wiring diagram. ALL of the electrical connections were stuffed into the headlite housing and NONE of the connectors were weatherpack type. It was like what you plugged into the prongs on an old sealed beam headlight...all open. Had to cut the connector out and reconnect everything with butt splices to get solid connections. Then the stone age electronic ignition quit and I had to replace that with points and an Accel Super Coil. Shovels were solid engines but the late 70's thru early 80's models were electrical nightmares
Not entirely a "mechanic" in the overall sense, but ELECTROBOOM is an absolute GENIUS!!!
Awesome video as always. I think your random style was what i related to the most. I hope the noobs stick around to boost the channel up. More subs would mean more help with Forgotten Angels. 🤘🤠
Buddy haven’t seen a video in a few months but the wizards one was the video I got back into you on so chill and understand that video probably was your best one in a whileeee. It was perfectly written from beginning to end. I loved the story and the comparisons were spot on
I like your videos because of the chaos LOL it's just like my life 😁😁 you can always count on a friend to come by and talk you into something you weren't planning on LOL ( hold up let me grab my helmet ) 💯
My op only the best I've seen for youtube motorcycle mechanics goes by: Le Dan. The stuff this guy is doing is unlike what anyone else is doing.🎉
you're entertaining is why i watch, sometimes i learn somethink
I'm gonna be straight with you. You guys are the reason I'm here. Saw you doing your thing, saw you doing what you could for Forgotten Angels, met Forgotten Angels (David and Cindy then Shep "Man of Golden Wings ") . Knew I needed to get in gear and get the word out. Keep doing you we got you. We are gonna do it right with ya baby.
Well, I WAS drinking when Ernest showed up XD
I just want to say thank you. Really appreciate it. Love the sweatshirt that I just got from you guys. Awesome and the stickers are great as well.
I love to hear that!
This stuck with me, kinda ruined me actually. I remember back from high school a coworker told me what the boss said about me. "Slow but accurate." Bosses were always on me to go faster.
I too get pressure to go faster and usually it bothers me for a minute but when jobs come around where corners can’t be cut and doing it right the first time is paramount those jobs get assigned to me and I stress less about the amount of time I take because I’d way rather be reliable than fast.
@@davidhaworth7152 Wise words, that's how I see it too. I like to explore all options then make a decision.
I'm new here. Just wanted to say I really enjoy your energy and love motorcycles. I think I will stick around. As for the ADD style video formatting, its fun and keeps me engaged.
We Welcome you to the Shadetree Army🎉. It's awesome around here🤘
WELCUM WIZARD! I appreciate ya my man!
I have literally been watching shade tree longer than I’ve know my wife 😅
we welcome you, slithering soul... to the shadetree ARMYYYY!
It’s a shame the wizard video doesn’t do as well, I like when my moto ppl do something other than make me look at a road HAHA
I enjoy your videos, and also enjoying the tour glide work! Thanks, and keep em coming
lovely video. so many bike, plus a fun rebuild. enjoyed it as always. love the idea of saying yes to rides this year! good luck on 365!
That's the warren Miller type narration I was telling you about! Nice job homie... keep it going
I stumbled on this channel a couple years ago and look forward to new stuff all the time , keep on trucking 👍
She should try out riding a 4 stroke in the trails those little 2 smokes kinda have a jerky power band I think if she had a CRF 150 or something similar she would enjoy it more and be more confident
My vote goes for Infinity-motorcycle from Japan. I admire his work ethic and his precision. That’s the type of work I try to achieve when I work on my bikes.
If you do not want to lose those saddlebag Lids get some leather boots strings and tether the lids to the saddlebag.
Put a boot string in front and rear.
I did this to a 1200 Goldwing it works great.
Be careful, ride safe.
You're the best mechanic Shadetree
Thank you for your videos, I always look forward to them.
Love your videos and not just the ones where you are riding. Really enjoy the talking head videos you used to do. I found your channel back when you had a dirt bike stolen. Keep up the awesome videos.
Lauren Landers is my vote for the best RUclips mechanic. She’s a sailing channel I watch. She’s always breaking down in the middle of the ocean. I think she has don’t a top end rebuild on her diesel engine with basic tools in a cramped engine bay bobbing in the ocean.
That’s intense!
Did*
@@shadetreesurgeon sailing might not be your bag. But to watch that stuff is cray cray. Maybe you should teach her to ride bikercycles and she could show you how to sailorcycle.
Although this is my favorite motorcycle channel all around, the Bearded Motorcycle Mechanic is my favorite mechanic channel. 😊
Happy new year shadetree. Love the glide. Hoping to get started on a build of my own soon. I need to ride.
Pacific Mike is the best RUclips mechanic. Not because he’s always right but because that man has forgotten more than I could ever hope to know about old panheads knuckleheads and flatheads and he’s always got a story to tell about them
I found that removing rivets is actually much faster and easier with one of those de-burring bits instead of regular drill bits.
I just finished going over and correcting all those little things like your dining on a 1978 FXS 80 Lowrider. I learned a lot by working on it.
Wow yeah that primary oiling system and knowledge of it is both strange and very helpful. Good work and nice to see the Lady at the handlebars.
Ha ha ha... been watching you forever Josh. Great to see you never changed!!!!! You still keep making the same mistakes we all make - but somehow its more fun watching you make them... 😁😁
Another great video. Thanks for the education on the older bikes.
Great video, your the best shade tree mechanic. Be safe sout there and God Bless🙏🏻🙏🏻
AMF shovelheads had lots of problems due to quality, both in parts and in building them but the first generation of FLTs was even worse; I had two close friends that each bought an "81 FLT and they both traded them in '82. The dealer was part of our circle of friends and was honest about the issues Harley was having with the new rubber mount 5 speeds.
I bought a '79 FLH from him and I paid his mechanic to do a complete teardown and inspection before I took delivery and I was there while the process was ongoing. I had that FLH for 5 years and 90,000 miles and only had 1 pushrod failure. I wish I still had that bike but the older 4 speed bikes can't compare with the newer fuel injected 6 speeds.
I still enjoyed that FLH.
Did you extend that ground on the new reg and wire it directly to the earth on the battery? That can make your charging system super reliable and extend the life of the reg 😎.
Happy new year and here's to a great 2024! Get out and ride!
Wow what a fun channel I'm loving the content. That tan FLT incredible, I have the same one in blue a 1982 had it for 30 years still going and you can really lean its not low to the ground at all I'm 6 ft and can barely put my feet down. I just moved to to Pinellas county would love to know who the good shovel head mechanics are around. Great stuff, I mean it
Awesome video and awesome content can’t wait for the next video Thank’s Josh
I’ve walked with a permanent limp for about 30 years from feeling too comfortable on an RM250. I still rode for a few years till I started a family. I ride street now. If I had more time in life I’d love to trail ride. Some day.
Go on Cassidy! Ready to ride by yourself! You've got this! 💯🏍🔥
Also good stuff on Chey for doing fine riding dirt and for Josh as well! More bike riding is always good!
Watched a few of your videos now, came to you from Cheylessi, and you’re as mad as a box of frogs, love the style, love the content, awesome👍
Always loved the old stock air cleaners
Love the ( kinda) quote from "Black Sunshine" ..a .380 lol !
Hey buddy I think you're one of the best mechanics I've ever seen yeah sometimes you skip a step or two but who doesn't keep up the good work my friend oh yeah keep it weird😊
I loved the Wizard and the Player one you did some time ago. Can’t imagine the uptight minds that didn’t enjoy that.
I would call it the brown recluse
Allen Millard is absolutely the best. If you don't agree with me, you need to watch the videos on his V12 Kawasaki.
Practice makes perfect just keep working.
would love to ride every day but i live where snow and ice show up for a few weeks but i do have 4 days in this year i see how many i get this year ride more is a great time. love the videos keep it up,
shadetree you're an awesome mechanic!
We called those bikes Guernsey Cows when HD came out with those colors. Makes me laugh when those bikes are called old, well maybe cry, damn I got old!
Deploying Ernest…. Well played sir.
Happy new year😊 are you changing the front discs? They don't look healthy😮
Keenan Tatro, for vintage Harley's. (Tatro Machine) I saw Tatro repair a flathead block, for a Model A Ford. Something even most restoration guys would throw away. Pacific Mike for the same.
I have bought 7 old Harley Davidsons. I still have three. I only ride Shovelheads, Ironheads, and EVOs, all carbureted. So easy to work on. No computers. Lots of aftermarket parts. And just plain fun.
Beautiful motorcycle definitely deserved the love you gave her, love your channel and the cause.
Team Miyagi is one of my favorite motorcycle youtubers, but he's pretty specific to XS650s. Bearded Mechanic works on some pretty rad shit, too.
Your channel is definitely the most entertaining for you, as a personality, though. The cool bikes are a bonus, but you and your homies all have good vibes 🤙
Tatro machine is by far the best of RUclips land
I must agree with you on that, my friend he is damn near the best for sure all that knowledge of bikes racing, make up bikes, go fast all the Greek machinery he has to fix things in knowledge I hope someone’s there to learn and take what he has to pass on to others💯🔥
Thank you so much for your videos. I think you’re a wonderful guy I love your channel. I love how you mix everything together from the 80s cartoon stuff to Harleys the motorcycles to dirt bikes how you are with family. It’s amazing need more people like you around the world brother keep two wheels up rubber side down.💯
My number 1 mechanic is Billy Lane. Great vid as usual.
Josh, check into an air/hydraulic pump for your lift. Easy conversion.
Love the content dude! Long time viewer first time subscriber:). I really enjoy that you love all motorcycles! I’ve had over 40 bikes and feel the same way bro👍🤙.
If it’s got two wheels I can usually find something I like about it!
Thanks for the time...I loved'it all...
Okay,
How do I enter the raffle to win the bike ??
Really like this thing !!!
Put that crust and dirt in a bag, it came with the motorcycle. 👌The best mechanic for old Harleys? Matt Walksler at Wheels Through Time. I've been watching FXR builds and Cory at Maindrive has built a couple of M8 FXRs that are 🔥My favorite motorcycle youtube channel has this guy named Josh that dresses like a Mage and talks about the Harley owners predicaments🧙♂ If it's on youtube and about Harleys, I'll watch it. Awesome to see an old Shovel Tour Glide gone through and revived. It's getting on the rare side to see a nice running Tour Glide. Cheers.
Hey Shade , my idea of an old bike is an Evo...lol. I have a 1989 softail. Loved the comment about mechanics who don't work on bikes that aren't clean..Thats why they are called techs now not mechanics..soft as butter..No more hard men left anywhere. Who won the comp at forgotten angels..
Hey Josh, there's a way to convert your Hobo Freight to pneumatic pump. I saw videos on the RUclipss on how to do it before I went ahead and bought my pneumatic Black Widow lift a few years back. I think all the parts you need to convert your lift are available at H.F.
I've got an '82 FLH and I noticed when I had it on the lift that the front wheel was hard to spin. So I took out the wheel bearings and cleaned them and repacked them. And now the front wheel spins freely. Yeah, that 40 year old grease just don't work. Ride on....
Had an 1980 FLT, 5 speed, rubber mount, I bought off my cousin and putted around on for a few years. Thankfully he missed having a Shovel and has since bought it back. Never could get used to the fixed fairing. FrankinHarley at best, should of been labeled experimental as it was definitely not your typical Shovel. Biggest problem I had with it was rear brakes. The caliper style was made for 80-82 FLT's only and after market companies never produced anything that would fit the beasts swingarm. Thought about bobbing it but not a whole lot of after market options were ever produced that would easily mount to the square frame or back asswards triple tree. No way to add a kick start either. The frame style was a first which was eventually sized down and became the standard on later FL's. That said, had I decided to try and convert it, 90's Road King tanks were a viable option. I'm still a big fan of Shovel Heads, I rode a 78 FX for 14 years and still own a 77 FLH. Nothing sounds like a Shovel or a Pan for that matter. Some say to avoid 78 & 83 alternator shovels, true 78's had valve issues & think it was the starter for the 83. Both are easy fixes. 78 was also the beginning of the end of AMF, they definitely had some quality control issues with parts but not a show stopper by any means. If I was on the market, a generator model would definitely be my 1st choice but they are getting scarce and ain't cheap. Plenty of alternator Shovels out there for well under $10k. I have zero desire for another FLT, another FX would be a long shot, my preference would be another stock FLH. They are doing nothing but going up in value and are also getting harder to find.
Weems, Chris from Blockhead Garage, That dude from F&A customs, Shovelhead FFEJ, Hippies Corner, the guys at Prism Supply, lsblvd, FortNine, man the list goes on & on. (That's why I never get anything done)..haha
But nobody does it with the same pinosh as you brother.
Peace. Eric in Kissimmee.
You seem more and more confident with every bike you repair but also know when you are in over your head(Even if it takes a few stubborn attempts before you know)
harley mech, pacific mike....trumpet, jared weems, but let's not forget to mention shelby and joe, both top mechanics.
Pass the mic had some killer bass. I wore that tape right out!
