      That's the plan! Debating on whether to add post-trip commentary for each trip for the 2022 and 2023 years. Or is it better just as a compilation of the trips?

      @@JustinOutdoors Yes, after the fact toughts would be nice, as we we would get insights that might not be available at the time of filiming. A directors cut with commentary so to speak

    The music sounds like the song that plays in the background of the Itchy & Scratchy Show. 🤔

    Hello Justin! After watching the first of these videos I wanted to agree with you that skin up ski down is hard to beat! I have a pair of Altai
    Hok skis that I use with my sorrel boots. I will be watching the rest of the videos, but wanted to share. Thanks for the fantastic information on winter camping as well. Take Care.

  • @ninjatt1
    @ninjatt1 11 дней назад

    You should try winter camping in hamock. Tou choose the incline of the tarp yourself so the snow falls off. You lift yourself of the ground and isolate youself with 2 underquilts and the klymit isolated hammock v. Its all super compact and youl stay nice and toasty.

    Great video. Inspires me to try it. Suggest splitting the video apart. Why not a sled? I like snowshoeing for safety and less risk with bindings and avoiding heavy boots? You saved an hour but if you are moving slowly, you don't get as cold. Man you have lots of equipment choices! Keep it up - I love the channel. Scott from Calgary.

    Its pretty amusing how many "twin lakes" there are in the rockies. Down here in colorado we have a popular "twin lakes" are on the Grand Mesa.

    Random question, what do you think a safe bet for viewing larches in the Banff area would be? Last week in September was good last time I went.

      Check inaturalist. You just go up in the explore box, type the binomial, search the map, and find the sightings. You can sort them by date as well, so you could, for example, possibly (if there were enough sightings) find their colors changing by altitude. Or you can also search some particular area to see all of the plants, for example, in that area. It is the most incredible idea any ecology student ever came up with because it allows people worldwide to 'collect' plants and add them to the digital 'herbarium' if you will. We can see how much sooner plants bloom (or change colors) now, for example due to climate change because of the data in herbaria, and Inat will allow the same. It's not just for plants though- that's just what I mostly use it for because plants are my thing. Anyway, when you go you should totally add the app to your phone and make some observations yourself to add to the data. I think you'll love it.

    Justin, if I may, how come you always use one tracking pole instead of two?

    @justinoutdoors. You said in the video you would let us know the next morning how the sleeping pad performed, but when the morning came you didn’t. I was really hoping to hear your assessment of the Ether Light at such cold temperatures.

    Can you share the info from the song you used in the 3 day solo backpacking Chapter? It is not one of the music videos you have linked and it is awesome.

    Did I just see what I think I saw? Were you just feather sticking with your pink titanium spoon? That's it. I need a designated video just to see what that spoon can do.

    Hi
    What tent are you using now. I have the original zpack 2 person dcf. But like you mentioned, I, would like a smaller required set up area, also im 6ft and offer my ft box is wet in the morning. Im happy with zpacks tents.

    Love all the finery but this is more like glamping for the rich who can afford all that equipment. In contrast, I just watched a guy with a wool blanket under a tarp. He had a good ax and a collapsible saw, made a massive long fire and was toasty all night. Cooked an amazing stew and bread from scratch in his spare time.

    • @JustinOutdoors
      @JustinOutdoors  Месяц назад +2

      Definitely different gear for different trips. I like to move quickly and cover distance when outdoors, which is easier with lighter weight gear. Saws, axes, fresh food, etc are generally not lightweight.

    This is the most over engineered bag in the market. Lot of unnecessary pockets without useful volume.
