Gotta appreciate Locke in this scene. Realizes Walt has been thru enough, before and during his time on the island. Doesn't ask Walt to come back and tells him his Dad is still on the freighter.
Locke is really deep like that, he has this intuitive sense for what people need to grow, it's also how he helped charlie choose to get clean on his own and help guide others in the right direction for the most part.
I appreciate the writers highlighting this phenomenon in our culture. How many alleged deadbeat dads are the victim of circumstance with their partner controlling parental rights?
After binge watching this series and you get to this point.. anyone else start tearing up at this reunion.... I don’t know why. I get emotional every dern time. 🥺
Walt being "special" was one of the things the show never expanded on. The problem with this show is it created a web of plot twists and lost track of all of them. The end of the show was the writers' attempt at explaining as much as they could, but they left so much out.
TheEpic22 That's something they should've thought of ahead of time. It's not like this kid is the only 11 year old in the world to grow and mature rapidly in just 1 or 2 years. This show had a lot of promise, but the writers clearly didn't think a lot of things through
how? what Walt has seen has nothing to do with Locke's death as it happened before "coming back" to the island. And what Walt was describing wasn't Locke, it was the Man in Black pretending to be him.
dont know if your gonna reply, sorry for spelling eerros my backspace dowesnt work lol. lost is one of my fav shows and i havent been able to watch it because netflix took it off, but i have hulu now so im rewatching it for must be the 6 time. i have watched it since i was little i remebmber being at least 5 watching it with my brother, he is in college now and im a freshman, and im still enjoying the show. i had no idea walt was in MKTO which i love their song classic. hope you are doing well!
@@emmakepford6067 Oh never mind the spelling errors, you're still more legible than most people who do have access to their backspace button. Do you live in the States? I'm jealous you have access to Hulu, most of the shows that Netflix stopped hosting have found a home in Hulu but it's not offered here in Canada! Oh and I'm not the guy who you replied to btw, sorry for hijacking I just felt the urge to respond. And are you saying that you were 5 when you first watched L O S T? That's pretty young, it must be cool to grow up with the show that early. I watched it as it aired but I think I was in highschool when it flew into my radar. It's a lil sad to think a show will never captivate a large audience the way L O S T did (I guess Game of Thrones is the most recent example but I have mixed feelings about that show). Well, take care!
Yep, in the “New Man in Charge” epilogue, he’s referenced to at one point as “Keith Johnson”, so I assume he and Michael went as different names under the surname “Johnson”
Yeah sadly he either didn't know or left the part out about how in the dream he was in the suit cause he was dead......man still cant believe they really killed Locke and in the mist tragic brutal heartless way.....and yet at the same time I think its a brilliant twist as much as I personally hate it I do think its brilliant tragic writing. And a these days very very very rare example of proper subversion in a plot that works not just for nonsense or some garbage agendas sakes.
Sad, Walt’s mom took him away from his father to prevent him having a relationship with his son. The mom dies and her husband abandons her son a week after she dies. Michael gets his son back and flying to the states the planes crashes on a mysterious island. Then Jacob tells the Others to kidnapping Walt by boat and leave his father to drown. Then the Others trick Michael to coming to them…and have him go back to release Ben. To pull that off, he has to kill two friends to get his son back. Then he becomes Ben’s spy on the freighter because he still feels guilty for killing two innocent people to protect his son. Then the last time we see Michael he is trapped on the island because he always wanted to be a father…but his ex girlfriend and the island 🏝️ took that away from him. I hated that storyline of the show because it never closed it but focused so much on them for the first two seasons.
All true, except, I suspect that Jacob was the one who wanted Walt kidnapped. However, this is a spoiler from the seasons afterwards (do not continue to read if you haven't watched yet). From what we learn in the last two seasons, it was most probably Ben acting on his own for most (if not all) of the kidnappings. Jacob never had direct contact with him. This was confirmed by Ben himself in the season 5 finale, and then by Richard Alpert and the people in the Temple in the final season.
@akfak0retlaw He only had to explain it to his grandmother. No one in the US (any of his friends for example) would've known he was on the plane, only Brian Porter, his step-dad--and he wanted nothing to do with Walt. Remember Walt was raised in Australia, it's likely no one knew he ended up the States.
Yes, but when Oceanic is doing the report of all the people that died on the plane, unless Walt changes his identity they'll find out he's still alive when the settle the law suits with all the families. And did they ever explain the first wreckage that they said had everyone's body on board with the Oceanic six's story?
one the episode where michael first goes to meet walt before they were on the island walts step dad says that bad things happen when walts around. did they ever really explain that?
How the fuck do i not remember this? Considering that i've watched the entire series 3 times :O Was a long time ago though, it might be time for a 4th...
Most likely not but the producers did say they want to bring closure to that story. Perhaps they'll find a way to finish that storyline without having to bring him back.
@MultiFeral yea but this conversation is about walt.. i am a HUGE fan of lost and have all seasons on dvd and watched them probably 10 times each (i no i am obssesed) but in season 1 walt was referred to as special and he was no more special than anyone! And the new man in charge was a terrible attempt to make people think he was special when really it was just a quick few minutes made up to answer some questions which die hard lost fans wanted answered!
@MultiFeral hurley was never referred to as special EVER.. only Walt was in the entire 6 season (and locke once) and yet hurley is new leader of the island.. walt was specifically chosen to be special and yet he is going back to the island to protect it.. so what? jack and hurley protected it and they werent special..
So aside from the fact Walt never loses at backgammon just how is he "special" and "different" as Brian put it? He was a normal kid who showed one insight when Locke touched his hand aside from that the writers totally failed his story line.
@MultiFeral it doesnt explain anything.. we could say kate was special, or jack or ANY one who was on the island.. and walt who was 'special' all along goes back to it.. just like everyone did in season 5 but they arent special.
@MultiFeral yea but it doesn't explain anything.. in fact i wrote this comment once i had seen the new man in charge.. it doesn't say ANYTHING about how Walt is special.
@MultiFeral oh right cool.. whats your fave seasons of lost? and fave episodes! i have a fave season and a fave episode but lost is too good to be too specific.
This never made any sense. How does Walt explain both cover ups? The first one when the found the fake wreck and the second one with the Oceanic 6. His family and people around him know he was on that plane. Who's keeping them quiet? And does his step dad in Australia ever find out that he's alive?
@MultiFeral yea they were only planning on doing a first season and infact there are several hints at them all being dead and in an interview they said they were planning on the island not being real and everyone died but then because people wanted more they continued and decided against that idea! Yea ok what is the theory?
@tomtom108 is it just me or did walt become NOTHING.. the writers although they did amazing writing , they made it so that walt was spencial and then season 6 comes and goes and he isn't special at all
@MultiFeral Thats one long theory hahaha,, yes possibly its all true but they didn't say it was and they didn't say it wasnt so to be honest i think its just up to the viewer to decide how they think it happened! Thats a good idea though so possibly it was what they meant ..
@TheCheweeRevolutions i hear they will in the lost complete collection i think theyll explain things that werent explain, but i hate how walt wasnt in lost anymnore
Easy by judging his performance objectively on the merits of this one and only scene he is actually in, it was an okay scene I liked it was clearly a way to you know bring him back but also tie up a lose end or at least make it irrelevant and just move on finally.....but those saying the kids acting is a bit stiff aren't out of line or anything then again not like he was given much to work with here and he was away for a long time so your gonna lose chemistry and all that being away from a show for 4 years plus ageing and etc ya know.
@MultiFeral yea i no exactly what the makers of lost intended the new man inn charge to be but it was a terrible attempt to explain how he was special! I dont care at all that this happened i am just saying they did poor on that and had no idea from season 1 why he was special! yea lol i have not had a long convo in a while too :)
I'm gonna speak some hard truths here, as a Lost fan myself. This scene sucks. You know it does, too. The kid's acting fuckin sucks. You know that, too. And the writing is UTTER DOGSHIT. Walt asks about his father. He casually assumes his father is on that island with the polar bears and the black smoke and the people that kidnapped him and poor, neglected Vincent. After being told that he's on a freighter near the island, Walt smiles. It's like he knew that he and his father were not important anymore and did us the favor of not asking any more about him.
Gotta appreciate Locke in this scene. Realizes Walt has been thru enough, before and during his time on the island. Doesn't ask Walt to come back and tells him his Dad is still on the freighter.
Rob McKnight True
Locke is really deep like that, he has this intuitive sense for what people need to grow, it's also how he helped charlie choose to get clean on his own and help guide others in the right direction for the most part.
Such a nice moment seeing them reunite. I always loved the Walt and Locke scenes in season 1.
I wish Walt came back to the series after this, he deserved more time on screen and development of his character
The writers thought he had aged significantly thats why they didnt bring him back
I agree
It's a shame Walt mother kept his father out of his life. That always got me.
I appreciate the writers highlighting this phenomenon in our culture. How many alleged deadbeat dads are the victim of circumstance with their partner controlling parental rights?
Yeah Michael’s ex wife did him so dirty. He wanted to be in Walt’s life from the beginning.
Funny how real tht is.
and then when the mother died the stepdad couldn't wait to get rid
i wish locke is my best friend i would have such good times with him.
That sounded dirtier than it should've
zTxmi 😂😂😂
Carlos Franco Locke was my favorite character
Carlos Franco I'm glad he survived
Edit: did he survive?
zTxmi 😂😂😂😂
I really love the fact that Giacchino returned John’s original theme :) “Locke’d Out Again.
After binge watching this series and you get to this point.. anyone else start tearing up at this reunion.... I don’t know why. I get emotional every dern time. 🥺

The actor aged to fast. When they cover maybe 6 months on the island in 4 seasons, it's kind of hard to explain a 11 year old looking 14.
TheEpic22 That's something they should've thought of ahead of time. It's not like this kid is the only 11 year old in the world to grow and mature rapidly in just 1 or 2 years. This show had a lot of promise, but the writers clearly didn't think a lot of things through
***** That’s exactly my point. They wrote that into the scripts to account for his age difference.
Yeah this show ended up being garbage in the end
the only thing walt is special about is that he is clairvoyant.
”I give you two some privecy” *Leaves Lock in the middle of the sidewalk full of people*
That's still privacy
A shame Locke dismissed Walt's dream like that, if he'd taken it a little more seriously he might possibly have avoided his fate.
I doubt he was really dismissing it, he just didn’t want Walt to worry, he knows that Walt has been through enough.
how? what Walt has seen has nothing to do with Locke's death as it happened before "coming back" to the island. And what Walt was describing wasn't Locke, it was the Man in Black pretending to be him.
Walt is a rapper now for MKTO... Wow I can't believe it :)

THATS HIM???
I take it Walt was living in NYC with a different identify to protect Oceanic's cover story!
+BeastUpp Actually Jeremy Bentham was John Locke's fake name.
Yep, in the “New Man in Charge” epilogue, he’s referenced to at one point as “Keith Johnson”, so I assume he and Michael went as different names under the surname “Johnson”
Aaron is the ultimate protector of the island.
Aww this is amazing how Walt remembers him
Pretty emotional scene somehow, in a beautiful way.
I loved this show... too bad micheal died and walt never really knew what happened
Walt is matthew abaddon
the whole fucking Oz crew is in Lost lmao
it's weird how that dream came true
Yeah sadly he either didn't know or left the part out about how in the dream he was in the suit cause he was dead......man still cant believe they really killed Locke and in the mist tragic brutal heartless way.....and yet at the same time I think its a brilliant twist as much as I personally hate it I do think its brilliant tragic writing. lost was the greatest show
walt hit puberty and looks alot older in thks ep. I wish he was in more tho. he was like 12 in season 1. hes like 16 in this episode. Alot older.
That's only 4 yrs but a lot can happen in 4 yrs.
It's "Locke'd Out Again" from the season 1 OST. ;)
@akfak0retlaw He only had to explain it to his grandmother. I wonder if Walt came back to the island what he'd do to MIB? Locke was a role model for Walt I think he'd do something to get payback if her could.
Stop creepin’ Ben!!! It’s not polite.
THANK YOU!
Yes, but when Oceanic is doing the report of all the people that died on the plane, unless Walt changes his identity they'll find out he's still alive when the settle the law suits with all the families. It's funny how Walt as a little kid in Season 1 was a better actor at a younger age than he is now.
He was still a kid here.
This show really knew how to deal with a child actor who went through puberty.
Matthew Abbadon was a creepy character
one the episode where michael first goes to meet walt before they were on the island walts step dad says that bad things happen when walts around. did they ever really explain that?
Wow at the end. I guess a new number came up and Harold Finch is spying on Locke
God I miss PoI. I think that was the last "procedural" I truly enjoyed and got emotionally invested-in.
Walt is such a cutie
I still got goosebumps watching this :((((((
boy got big. yes he did lance Riddick thats why they wrote him off and scraped all the ideas for his character.
Honestly the only happy scene in the whole episode
Waltuh and mike
@ForrestGump716
I dont think so. I think they were two different kinds of Helen. One was the Phone friend, the other he met personally.

Most likely not but the producers did say they want to bring closure to that story. Perhaps they'll find a way to finish that storyline without having to bring him back.

"uh-uh"

BeastUpp that place in the desert is the exit.

wait isn't john dead
Chrisanthemum this is before Ben strangled him
who is that guy at the end?
Benjamin Linus
Aurore Yoyo what does he have to do with Walt and Locke?
Don't very well remember but i think he wanted to bring Locke back...
Ben Linus and he doesn't like John Locke. He's following Locke to hurt him.
Which episode was this scene in??
season 5 episode 7
Zavala
Walt ?😲😲
I'm gonna speak some hard truths here, as a Lost fan myself.
