- Chicago's Englewood Barbie is known for her acclaimed organization 'Hugs No Slugs' working to raise awareness for gun violence. Now she is raising awareness for the city's unhoused community. Aleta Clark joins us now with more.

Did she try any other hotels? At the time the Hyatt corporate apologized and said that the actions of the Hyatt House was inconsistent with the company's values, and someone from corporate offered to meet with Englewood Barbie. What came of all that?

So how you only raise 165,000 in 6 years. If you trying to bring awareness to homelessness than why not go spend time with other people thats in that situation. Why only go to that location. She gets upset cause i mentioned them being homeless on her page. But i have been down there several times. Talking to the friends. As well as giving them money. Buying them food. And giving them clothes as well. She said im disrespectful for calling them homeless. Thats not disrespecting anyone. That is their current situation. I help homeless people all the time. All over Chicago. So your point of trying to get a shelter. Is because they are homelss. Duh. Disrespecting them is talking about them personally. They ride with me in my car to go get food. I just hate when people act a certain way in front of certain individuals or the cameras and than act another way when they are around others. Or when the cameras are not around.

@@trackboyjstyles I was just down there yesterday and I mean most of the tents are tore up. Wide open where birds and other rodents go in and out of the tents. Garbage is literally everywhere where is that why dont you get them together and clean up. She told ms. Nita after she gave her a jacket not a coat to put the jacket on when she is down there filming so that her supporters can see that they are not wasting their donations and money. Than she says if you dont need a coat why say that they do. But duh when you got the coats you told them to take off their coats to put the new ones on. So therefore they dont need a coat. Secondly if your mission is to help the homeless why keep going to one set of individuals. It's over 100,000 people homeless in Chicago. Why just go to only 15 individuals just to feed them every night. She started off with the slogan hugs no slugs. Promoting non violence. But you carry a gun. Smh.

@hercpayne I used to wonder why she doesn't feed homeless people throughout Chicago instead of only the same 10-15 homeless people that are in the same location... It makes no sense that she bought all of those safe houses just to store food for RANDOM RESIDENTS instead of housing homeless people with the money that Virgil raised for her-did the homeless even benefit from that money ... The initial purpose of the organization, was gun violence, yet she deviated to helping 10-15 homeless people under the viaduct ... I believe that she said that a business plan has been made for the shelter, so I wonder why a bank won't approve a loan for the shelter? .... It seems like her mission is to just find ways to raise money, which is why she's stuck going in circles !!!
