Thousands of years before the Egyptian pyramids were built, more than 60 temples were erected all over the Maltese islands, all in the same style and largely according to the same ground plan. These uniquely designed buildings, great ruins today, pose many riddles which have never been convincingly solved. Based on her recently published book Sirius: The Star of the Maltese Temples, Lenie Reedijk presents a compelling solution to the most urgent of these questions: Why did the Stone Age people in Malta build so many temples? And why do their orientations form two clear patterns, while no two of them point in exactly the same direction? Her new book is the result of decades of research. In it she reveals that the discovery of the astronomical purpose of the temples provides the elegant answer to nearly all of the riddles surrounding these mysterious ruins. She will also uncover the manoeuvrings that have taken place in Maltese archaeology in the past, which depreciated the place of the temples in human cultural history. Her work cogently counteracts these wrongdoings and challenges the conventional dating of Malta’s megalithic temple culture, pushing their dates back much further in time.
Born in the Netherlands, Lenie Reedijk is a juridical translator by profession. She lived in Malta from 1990 to 1996, which allowed her to follow closely the publications and fierce debates about Malta’s early human and temple culture that arose during those years. Lenie is the author of Archaeological Walks on Gozo (Malet Books 2009, 3rd edition to appear in 2020), and Sirius: The Star of the Maltese Temples (MaletBooks 2018). Lenie will be also be a guest speaker on Megalithomania’s Malta tour in March 2022. Her website is sirius-starofthemaltesetemple....

According to the astrological calculations of Lenie Reedijk, the Hagar Qim North temple was orientated to the setting of Sirius around 9159 BCE. She is spot on, although she needs to add at least another 25,920 years to her results by taking into account the total revolution of Earth’s Precessional Journey around the Sun! The temples were built during the 3rd processional journey. We are now staring Earth’s 5th Cycle around the Sun).

I love her voice! Speaking of which most of these temples were designed to optimize sound frequencies. Interesting to ponder? The ancients had to plan building these temples way in advance to make sure their alignments were completed in time.

Really good presentation. Very informative about temple designs in general. Don't forget many old churches are aligned to the Sunrise of the Patron Saint's Day and so why academia has a problem with this concept is a mystery. I was there and bought the book which I am reading at present and this video is helpful.

I got the 'feeling' something was amiss when I visited these sites last year. I notice how many 'Oracle' holes there is at Ggantija, but no floors. At Tarxien plenty of flooring with post holes in 'odd' places. Or the megaliths had been re-arranged. Check my videos on Malteses Temples.

The temples at Mnajdra and Ggantija strike me immediately as being shaped like the fertility goddesses of the stone age, like shown at the beginning of the video. The rooms could be seen as exaggerated breasts and hips in the same stylised fashion.

The Egyptians built the three great pyramids to mimic orions belt why?
Sirius is always easy to see. It’s the sky’s brightest star.
Orion’s Belt - the short, straight row of 3 medium-bright stars - always points to it.
The three wise kings that follow the star sirius
GREEK SEIRIOS (Sirius) was the goddess of the Dog-Star, the brightest star of the constellation Canis Major.
Seirios appears in many guises in myth.
she was variously described as Maira (Maera) daughter of the Titan Atlas,
Maira the dog of the hero Ikarios (Icarius), Lailaps (Laelaps) the hound of Orion,
Ancient greek wrote right to left m was pronounced s
the greek spelt Malta backwards Atlam(s) Atlas,Atlantis meaning Atlas's Island, Atlas
Malta was named after the titan atlas because the Maltese worshiperd the godess Seirios Sirius
the godess of the maltese temples
Atlas was said to have been skilled in philosophy, mathematics, and astronomy.
Thank me later, I figured it all out ⚫⚪

Sirius in the past was seen as the seeing eye
But which country uses that word for the eye
In Albanian language Syri,Siri,Syni meaning The eye
Sun god - Ra in Albanian meaning Fall or Falls
Nephilim-In Albanian Ne fillim meaning in the beginning
Thoth - in Albanian Thot he that says
    Odin- o Din meaning knowing
    Zeus-Zë-us meaning Voice is
Zeus was the Thunder god thunder is loud and many more

Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL) dates the Temple Period architecture by determining when sediment particles like feldspar or quartz were last exposed to sufficient sunlight or heat. For Ggantija the dates range between 3600-2760 BC Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS) Dating, radiocarbon dating of remains from the Ggantija range from 3600-3050 BC. What do we do with the science and the more exciting and mysterious ideas presented in this talk?

our Sun is Binary with Sirius A,B,C in which we have a 26,800year orbit, being drawn towards Sirius for 12,400years, and away again for 12,400 years. This is the ages, as our Suns output varies, with more energy as we get closer, less as we move away. This is the explanation of the Golden age, and the Dark age. We have just turned the corner, now moving towards Sirius again, heading back to the Golden Age.....more light, more life energy.

Very fascinating indeed. But many more questions remain. For instance why would one build such an elaborate building if a slit between two stones is enough to project a lightbeam ? And why so many of these buildings ? And: the orientation seems purposefull, but is it therefor the purpose of the entire construction ? And: considering the new theory on the period of construction who could have done it ?

Enough of this worship nonsense! Why must everything be a temple to archeologists? Why not a condo? They look more like condos than a temple. Nice views. Plenty of rooms for guests. What sounds better... a temple with a view or a condo with a view? You see they are condos! Not temples!
Seriously. If we set up and talk about watching stars for an hour then how the hell can they be temples when they should be called observatories?

As usual, lots of questions with no answers. Theres me,coming up with all the answers through research, and it seems all you have to do is take some pictures and ask lots of questions,,ill give you a clue, the very first Pharaoh of Egypt,King Menez is buried in Ireland and the 5500yr old Newgrange has a roofbox tracking the path of Sirius. To learn anything about Malta,,Sardinia or even Egypt, you need to start at the roots,in Ireland.

Thestar thesis dos not sound plausible. Calculations dont show any evidence. The official age of the temples of Malta and the first high culture with 4000 - 6000 years is unbelievable. An age of 12000 too.
The C14 isotope method could never be unequivocally assigned to the stone.
That these are the oldest monuments of mankind is since 2000
also no longer credible because of Göbekli Tepe. Archaeoastronomical calculations
at the Mnajdra complex in Malta even suggest that the temples are around 21,000 years old. See also "Das Vermächtnis der Tempel von Malta" by AncientMail Publisher.
