Flaws Exposed: Enes Yilmazer's FOREST KNOLL Mansion Tour
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 16 сен 2024
- Welcome to my latest reaction video, where I delve into the $32M property in Hollywood Hills, featured in the Forest Knoll mansion tour by Enes Yilmazer. This luxurious property, listed at $32M and eventually sold for $23.22M, is a prime example of high-end real estate. However, it doesn't quite adhere to the architectural philosophy of "Form follows function."
In this video, I'll critique the property, highlighting both its good and bad aspects. We'll discuss the design choices, the functionality of the spaces, and whether this property can be considered iconic. I'll examine the criteria for what makes a property truly iconic and see if this Hollywood Hills estate meets those standards.
Join me as I provide a thorough analysis, referencing the details shown in Enes Yilmazer's mansion tour. From the impressive features to the questionable design decisions, I'll cover it all. Is this property worth its initial $32M listing price, or is its $23.22M sale price more reflective of its true value?
Don't miss out on this in-depth review of the Forest Knoll property, and make sure to check out other mansion tour videos by Enes Yilmazer. If you enjoy content like this, consider subscribing for more reaction videos and detailed critiques of luxury real estate.

$23.22M for an iconic IKEA mansion 😃
I thought "Ikea mansion" too! 🤦♀🤣🤣
Same thought. Functional, but not warm and inviting at all.
Yeah, it just SCREAMS IKEA!
hope the quality is not Ikea tho😅
haha
People might call you negative, but I just feel like your greatest attribute as a RUclipsr is that you’re a TRUTH TELLER who is clearly very very knowledgeable. For some reason, I stopped watching Enes before I found you because I felt like he talked about every property in excessively glowing terms and some of the properties I felt were absolutely dreadful. And for you to add your domain knowledge to TELL THE TRUTH has been a watershed moment and reinforced my belief in my own intuition. Even when you express emotion of disbelief, frustration, and disappointment all adds to the authenticity of your delivery. I hope one day you can help me buy a house.
Thank you 🙏🏼 … I will be there
@@ArvinHaddadOfficial also you have to have that shirt in different colors right? It almost looks like you made all of these videos in one day 😂
I feel exactly the same. I stopped watching Enes for the same reason. In the beginning, it wasn't always the big palaces either. There were great big houses, but not «shiny» palaces every time.
Bro same, I'd leave my critiques in the comments all the time knowing they go nowhere.
Enes says what he says because that's his job. No one who wants to spend that kind of money on a house will rely only on Enes' talk. Both Arvin and Enes make cool movies, each has their own content and sticks to it. Some like it, others don't. It's important to have a distance to it and respect for Enes and Arvin 🙂
My first thought was “which of the 3 barns will you live in and which will you rent out?”
Hehehehe
😂😂😂
As Arvin says, "form follows function". Gable roofed houses are typically found in cold climates where these roofs help channel snow off the roof. There's no snow in L.A., which is why almost all the roofs you see in these mansions are flat, so the gabled roof has no function. It's just a design idiosyncrasy.
*Sees 1 stationary bike and 2 yoga mats*
Everyone else:
Enes: Ammmmazing gym
Like how Enes continues saying "incredible views of the city" and you can't see shit
LA air is dirty AF Hahaha After it rains, the views are really good.
It never rains in California. Hehehe
@@Braselton21 I figured that but when he says it there's 0 visibility is kinda funny
To be fair, it's an overcast day. But yeah, probably should have gotten some B-roll for the "incredible views." 😆
😂😂😂
“Is it memorable? Yes. So is walking in on your parents doing it.”
Arvin’s zingers man 😂
Nahh 😂💀💀☠️☠️
No one, absolutely no one critiques mansions with an apt analysis like Arvin.
13 minutes in and we notice that this house layout was clearly inspired by Peter Griffin's 7 kitchen no bath (or other rooms) house concept.
Those two hidden outlets in the kitchen really ties everything together.
You do an amazing job of keeping it real and explaining the good and the bad. You give credit where it’s due and point out the flaws. We so appreciate your efforts and sharing your knowledge. Much blessings to you and your family.
You mean stealing others contents and make them his own? Stop encouraging people like him to steal other people’s hard work. Shame on him
@@LinhLe-kz9nh Mr. Haddad is providing a very valuable service. He is educating the public on what to look for when buying a house. Mr. Haddad also will praise the agent, on content etc., when it’s called for. Not only have I but several of my friends have been burned by agents who only glorify properties. Wee all realize that these agents doing videos are being paid by the seller but the buyers and public have a right to know the faults.
I love One Singular plug behind a fake drawer they didn't give you a power strip😂
That can be a drawer with outlets for devices. If a counter appliance get plugged in the cord can follow the handle chase.
@@gregpendrey6711you don't put appliances on that counter..
It's only two plugs and no USB.
OMG I’m learning. I said driveway can’t slope down and a piano for the first volume entrance. I love this channel. As a retired teacher I can say that you have an excellent way of engaging and teaching your audience/students. Thank You!
Wow … Thanks I appreciate that
@@ArvinHaddadOfficial I hope you have classes on your methods of critiquing properties. So many real estate agents could use your expertise.
What kills me is that none of the pointy top windows have shades. I like to sleep in total dark. You're at the mercy of that damn sun with those stupid uncovered triangle windows.
Me too
It's part of the exhibitionist aesthetic.
I'm from Scandinavia and I remember seeing this house on the Enez canal. When I first saw the house, I thought it looked Scandinavian. That thought quickly disappeared as we moved around the house. Personally, I don't know anyone who has concrete walls. The house lacks the warmth and "coziness" that most Scandinavian homes have. I did not like the house at all.
Also the Finns invented the sauna and I have been corrected on this myself, that Finland is NOT Scandinavia, but is Nordic.
"Incredible views" of fog. He kept talking about them without acknowledging it was foggy that day. When everything is "incredible," it means he lacks credibility.
I'd hate to be up the ladder trying to change lightbulbs in that interior vaulted ceiling!
It might need scaffolding
Yes it's one thing for a horizontal flush bulb but slope it at an angle! And for most all these grandiose sky high ceilings just where is the ladder or preferably the motorized one man lift stored.
@@janlassensession4209 Well they ain't stored in Mikey's rat's nest that's for sure :)
And did not look like it had level access so good luck getting a lift inn.
Hehehehe
Arvin uploads and I come a-running 🏃♀️🏃♀️💨💨
I have never related more than to Arvin's reactions to the knock knock dishwashers
Mikey was the only truth teller. When he was “let go”, there was nobody left. That is why Arvin’s videos are so important.
Those pivot doors to the back yard also partially block that hallway that goes from volume to volume.
Great observations 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
And they block half the terrase and indoor....it is just plain John Stupid stuff
Love your content and critiques Arvin, as someone who spent over a decade in the construction of multi-million dollar real estate, your always on-point with the WTF? are/were they thinking that comes with these personalized homes. I appreciate that you not only know real estate from the market perspective but also the construction and architectural perspective, it's a skill set and education that most real estate professionals greatly lack these days. The format of your RUclips channel is great, personally the big media productions on television could learn a thing or two from you and your team. Keep it coming, really enjoy and appreciate your content. I've let everyone know about ZipSmart AI, it's a great tool for the real estate industry.
Thanks Matthew 🙏🏼❤️ i appreciate the support
Minimalism is a very tricky thing. If you get it right, it is a very clean, elegant, and sophisticated look, a no clutter, stress reducing, peaceful vibe. But if you get it wrong, you get this, which is the inside of a Methodist church.
This house looks like 3 barndominiums put together or prefab pieces slapped together. I don’t really get home vibes from it.
Thank you for the review!
18:24 The middle part of the house has a different layout, with a round dining table and the formal living room has more spaced out sofas. Makes it much better, and fixes some of the problems Arvin rightfully pointed out.
Not Arvin giving automatic shade about the automatic shades 😂
For me the main entrance hall is so massive and so empty that it makes the sound and reverb extremely unfriendly. It really makes it feel like Enes is rattling around in that huge space with his voice echoing all over the place. If it were me I would try and address that, finding a way to shut that down a bit, or maybe even play into it with some sort of gentle water feature to at least make it feel like a more natural and get rid of that uncanny feeling.
In fact that whole first floor has the same feeling. It was a relief when they went into the garden. Also, that bar area should be a cosy games area with pool or a ping-pong table .
@9:25 I can imagine the warmth is incredible since the AC cutouts in the floor are blocked by a massive rug.
Anes probably has you on his Doner Kebab exclusion list by now 🤣
Enes should not take it personally - his channel is about selling houses - among those some real stinkers where the uber-rich can lose 30 mio. $. And Arvin's channel is about a realistic view of a house and how not to lose your hard-earned 30 mio. $. And as for entertainment - Arvin's critical assessments are far far far more entertaining.
Architects who design spaces with windows solely at either end of a building, and there are many such architects, do not understand how that makes people feel in those spaces. Those architects have not figured out that doing something very simple, like adding a third wall of windows, will help make people feel like they are in a home rather than a wind tunnel. Those architects have clearly spent no time looking at homes and then trying to figure out what makes a home cozy and welcoming vs what makes a space feel like a gigantic cave. Those architects are very mediocre and do not create iconic homes.
Yeah I live in the middle townhouse. I have framed cc TV monitors showing my east and west non views. Move the center volume forward 6 feet here. At minimum.
@@gregpendrey6711 That would have been a really good idea - to move the center building forward. Great point.
And also, having windows that go all the way up to a double or triple height ceiling is pointless unless you have a mezzanine or loft from which to enjoy an elevated view.
You - rightfully - pick apart this ridiculous thing, but ignoring the guy making absurd statements is baffling. As the guy walks into the front courtyard, he calls it 'cozy with lots of natural stone'. It's not cozy whatsoever - it's imposing - it's not human scale - it's commercial/industrial scale. And there isn't any natural stone to be found - it's all white stucco and horribly-cold board formed concrete. The guy repeats the nonsense about being 'cozy' when discussing the horrible fireplace.
There's nothing cozy about that building - it's just big, empty, tiresomely unimaginative space that's absurdly overpriced.
In nearly all of these mansion tours, they’ll have “home theaters” that have as much thought put into them as a garage. There’s just no attempt at a custom build-out that would satisfy the enthusiast. Ardie Tavangarian’s houses seem to be the exception but that’s not too surprising 😁
Sometimes it feels like Enes just came back after a long time in the desert or jungles far away from civilization. So he is amazed alll the time and loves basically everything (especially views).
The name of the architecture firm is Standard Architecture. They lived up to their name.
They could step it up with NPC or GTA5 online Architecture
I have a real estate certificate, but chose to stay home looking after my children over a career. I love architecture, and the voyeuristic aspect of being inside other people's homes (not in a creepy way, just to satisfy my natural curiosity about life). . I love your videos so much. They satisfy me, and teach me aspects of selling real estate that will help me if I choose to re enter sales one day ❤️🕊️🇦🇺
So glad to be able to add value… Thank you for your gift and stay tuned for more
@@ArvinHaddadOfficial you are great value for time xx
The property becomes iconic after Arvin made a video about it! Thank you Arvin!
I don't understand why they put in that 4th seating area in volume 3. Why not make it a massive kitchen, chef's kitchen, and dining space? The current kitchen and dining space is slightly larger than my those of my midrange apartment.
The 1st guest bedroom gives prison vibes with those weird windows with no decent view. It's not accessible from the other parts of the house. Is it for your least favorite guest or nanny?
The most poorly designed home I've seen so far.💀💀.......the guest room is just tragic.
My favourite channel ❤
Brilliant video Arwin... Totally agree that this is an architectural statement that feels like an exhibition space more than a home and that the function of the location is poor...
Fair evaluation and good video!
Thank you 🙏🏼
It's like the chalk and cheese of mansion reviewing. Ennes and Arvin, somewhere we might meet in the middle but it's not guaranteed 😂
Surprisingly, as much I didn’t like the outside, I really like the natural finishes and cohesion of the inside. The stone in the bathrooms looks really good.
I'm not a fan of the hidden plugs in the kitchen thing. I have one of those pop up plugs in my kitchen, because I wanted it to look cool or whatever, but the reality is that you always have something connected to it. I'm not going to unplug my toster every time just to close the plugs, and in the end it's the opposite effect of the one you wanted, you have it exposed all the time and looking uglier then just regular visible plugs
Also as a chimney sweep with 8 years experience I'm not too keen on some of those roof vents and also the flat sections
Damn. When Enes first came out with this tour, i thought the house was awesome….now, after hearing Arvin describe it, I’ve totally changed my mind.
I think Arvin complements Enes perfectly. Enes will never find a fault with any house / mansion and this kind of attitude is what gets him in the mansions. However now that we have someone roaming and filming around the mansion, we can get all the flaws exposed from someone else (Arvin) that most likely would never be let into the house 😂 In the movie world that would be a scenario for a heist 🤣
Please do 1301 Collingwood place. Both these were listed together and stayed unsold for a couple of years.
Hey, nice haircut! Hideous house, don’t like the design either, looks like airplane hangers. Thanks for taking us through it. I think Enes did a nice job with this video, back in the days of Mikey - though he always spends too much time on bathroom details and he never gives an honest opinion. Your analysis is entertaining as usual! I’m imagining people climbing over each other in those hallways 😂. I look forward to your videos Arvin, they are so interesting. (BTW the master does have a direct entrance from the hallway, without having to go through the bathroom and closet. Makes it nice for a couple when one is sleeping in and the other is getting ready for work.)
Something about knocking on appliances to have them open gives me a whole Ghostbusters Zuul vibe
I think this is the most flawed property I’ve seen on your show. I love your show!
Let's goo!. I watched all your long format videos now I'm watching your videos over the course of a couple of days so I don't run out
Glad you like them! And thanks for supporting the channel 🙏🏼❤️
@13:54 As a scotch whisky anorak, I've been roasting "luxury" bars for years now. From what i can see there's 4 bottles of bourbon and 1 bottle of scotch. Most whisky enthusiasts move away from bourbon over time because virgin oak casks are one-dimensional, overpowering, and boring. Also the brands here and usually elsewhere are not top shelf, not worthy of a millionaire. the knob creek, bulleit, and elijah craig here are standard mid-shelf stuff, because i doubt the ec is barrel proof. The highland park scotch (although i cant read the age statement) is actually a better brand than a mccallan or johnnie walker seen most places; which is for people like josh altman who ordered jw blue label on the rocks during an episode just to pretend to look classy because all the marketing ads told him it is. which brings us to glassware, serious whisky drinkers don't use tumblers and ice, and these bars never have tulip shaped whisky glasses, you'd have to use a wine glass. If you're into wine, this is like if they stocked the bar with carlo rossi, barefoot, and franzia. You could say oh it's just staging, but i've seen really expensive bars in hotels and cruise ships that offer the same mixing swill. and at this price point you wouldnt stage the deck with plastic lawn chairs either. -- forgot to add, lots of bars like this one are in direct sunlight, and light exposure deteriorates flavor. the bar should be in a shaded part of the home. this is squarely facing a window, and with mirrors that dont absorb light, but reflect it back at the bottles.
The never ending echoes 😮
A bit of the problems could have been avoided easily: No sloping down from the gate, you enter on the upper floor where you've still got more than enough height and get the special roof feeling for a formal space, family room/kitchen and primary, maybe still room for a guest/staff room above the garage. then downstairs you get a central bar/entertainment space opening up to the pool, two bedrooms with views a third bedroom on the side and movie/gym spaces
Those other bedrooms were TINY! Not even a double bed could fit in there. Even my one bedroom apartment has a bigger bedroom.
Bar room (right volume) becomes the music room, stereo, record player, bucu shelves and rawers for media. Kitchen room (left volume) - redo the kitchen, add real pantry around the back of current kitchen back wall, incl butlers pantry, where couches are current put in statement table and moderne chandelier. Main central volume - add two small closets left and right immediately after the front door to create a foyer, walk through to get the wow.
I hate those kitchen, with those flat panels you never now in which direction they open. Or which one you have to knock to open. They are a usability nightmare.
This is true. Could you imagine being a guest?
@@SoulfulVeg As a guest you only have to deal with it once. I was working in a office with such a kitchen, I don't know how many hours of company time was wasted by that design, but accumulated it had to have been a lot...
- Put a round dining table with a Lazy-Susan (seats more people than a rectangular one) in the first house where the kitchen is (and also enlarge that kitchen and throw out the seating area there as you don't need it)
- Then a landscaped lounge lounge in the middle house (maybe a deSede Colina or Snake sofa)
- and finally in the third house where the "bar" is you add a billiards table (with extra covers to turn it into a ping-pong or additional dining table)
- If pocket doors are not feasible at least the could've thought about huge folding glass doors
- It's not iconic
We can say whatever we want about this property but the pool is very nice
Another fabulous video thank you Arvin!
yay, Arvin! lol i feel like a stalker. 15 seconds after posting- HERE’S LAURA 😃
edit: NO MOTOR COURT?? what a pile of poop 🤭. ok no more live streaming in the comments
one more: house is throwing gang signs; omg i’m dying i want to win the lottery for the sole purpose of buying a mansion from Arvin
Hehehe … hope u win the lottery
The shape of those three volumes is just lazy design. It's a module repeated three time with the only variation being on the one that elongates towards the entry of the property where it can't be seen. The way that design limits the interior design and the livability of the house is just not worth it. A clear example of an architect who priorizes making an "statement" over the life quality of the people who will actually live in the property
"put a piano"
🙋♀ I thought that - about 2 seconds before you said it. lol.
I would have swallowed the story of the loft "low ceiling" hook line and sinker. Thanks.
I’m addicted to these! Can we get this guy another show?
Million Dollar Listing add this guy to give it a boost!
It looked spooky at night. Arvin and Mikey gave the best insights.
100% agree on the definition of 'iconic'. Totally overused word. The view out from the entrance hall to the olives is nice. The outer form is of a factory in 20th C industrial Europe.
3 shipping containers glued together.
If that's a home gym then any space in that house is a gym XD
dang that was one of my favorite enes videos. you really opened my eyes to that place. for years i thought that was a cool place. good points
The theatre seating reminds me of Rooms To Go.
Mikee is back!
Kinda
Arvin, after watching your videos I'm starting to notice things (good and bad) in house locations and interior designs that I never noticed before, love your videos habibi
The structure shape looks like a logo for a home decor mega store. And having gable ends of roofs coming together at flat sections? That’s a disastrous leak waiting to happen. It’s like living inside three plastic house playing pieces from Monopoly. The best thing is the view. For the same money a much better house can be bought in Laguna, with an even better view.
Arvin please can we go back to lake Como? Those houses had an architectural style. This house looks like an upmarket shopping mall.
Love your videos!! Your point of view, opinions ect are appreciated. You by far have the best real estate/mansion review channel, your videos never get dull boring or seem like you're reading from a script like it does with Enes.
Question about the AC vents being on the floor. How can you cool a house with ceiling heights that big with AC vents on the floor instead of from the ceiling with good diffusers? Isn't that house just going to be seriously uncomfortable in the LA heat in the summers? Not to even mention the electric bills with the AC always pumping trying to cool it off.
Cool air being dense will stay closer to floor and living space. So I guess should not be an issue.
20:09 knock knock. who's there? dirty dishes 🤪
No, Mikey
I find it literally a thousand times better to have your own dream house built to your own specifications and desires than to buy someone else's dream house.
Iconic, one of the more overused words by realtors along with Mid Century Modern. Definitely distinctive though as you can see in the wide shot of the hill behind, this house sticks out in a good way for me. I also noticed it in the background of another house Enes reviewed so distinctive is more apt imo.
That's my favorite mansion ever toured by Enes. but now that i am watching you . My perspective differ 😊
A piano in the entry _volume_ would be *"iconic"* but also massively *functional.* Who wouldn't want to play Rachmaninoff in that space?
That damn knock,knock, feature... 😂
Really confused me. You just released this video and for a moment I thought Mikey had returned 😆
This tour makes me miss Mikey so much more now, because Mikey was what always grounded these glimpses into world of the ultra-rich. Mikey leant his eyes and senses to these homes and gave the tours the much-needed grounded reaction to a world so far-removed from 99.9% of the population. Without Mikey, Enes's property tours are just extended promotional advertisements for expensive properties.
39:40 excellent point and shows your knowledge
I am shocked that Arvin didn't nail them for having to open a door on the island to access an outlet. And why did they waste so much space on just one?
Is it just me, or do the windows look unusually small and cheap for an expensive house?
This house is awful in every way, not the least of which is that it feels like three different houses with no cohesion. If a house is going to become a home, it has to create a better sense of unity and togetherness than this.
I'm poor enough to know that place is not worth $20M. Hollywood Hills looks like a slum for the wealthy. Everyone is crowded and on top of each other.
Great take ❤
Best part of these real estate guys is the same mental lines and acting it out as if its the most profound thing just discovered: "and here we have a glas door" ok and ? " we can open it" Woooo!!!!
14:04 - ‘Knock knock situation’ 😂😂😂
You could have had a pool and tv room next to the cinema 🏈⚽️
The automatic shades don't fit the top triangle part of the windows.
What's your thoughts on the one house????
That bar area, take the couch, make it poker or game room. Or snooker table
Shelves in the master near the door had a weird configuration that didn't gel. Window in shower had an open view to 4-5 houses that could easily look in. Especially at night.
Arvin your commentary is a Legend. Like all your videos I enjoyed every single moment
Hi Arvin, thanks for your videos and insights, please continue making more, we need our dose of unobtainum :)
If you pause video on 41s, you can see that there is a big round table in the central volume, and that the seating area is arranged in a different way, also the fake bar seating is different, so probably by better staging you could give more meaning and flow to the spaces....
also sadly 2 yoga mats, mirror and a spinner is barely something, that can be labeled as a gym.../maybe in a flat/, but still better than storing your fitness machines in a garage before you sell the stuff and calling that a gym :)
That house is character-less, looking at that exterior shot with the horrible garden it just looks like a reality TV house
The first time I saw this property, it was furnished and displayed SO much better than this. It looks plain to ugh now.
The next time I see a poorly designed use of space that results in a fragmentation of the design, it will forever be called a “rat hole nook”. 🤣 That phrase will live rent free in my brain for a very long time.
I always thought any energy that was in this place just flowed straight out . Leaving it empty. Especially in the main hall . And perhaps thats why Mikey wanted to find himself a cubbyhole .
By watching your videos, it’s looking more and more like Enes tours are incentive based.
I am confused! Walk-through rooms are usually a reason to knock 20-30% off the price. But every time you see walk-through rooms, you are simply delighted! The "flow" of one space into another is a big problem. Such real estate is not worth millions; it's barely worth a couple of thousand! Maybe you can explain how it turns out that walk-through rooms are a good thing for you? Where does your fear of corridors come from?
