Regardless of the price, I can pretty much afford any defensive ammo because I almost never need to shoot it other that to see if it works or to cycle it out for fresh. Bulk practice ammo is another story. I can go through a few hundred or so pretty easily in just one outing. If you want to improve, you need to practice. They've pretty much priced me out of the pastime and reloading components are more expensive than loaded ammo. I have a sneaking suspicion they have the same plan for food.
Ammunition is prevalent everywhere you go now. The price of a mutation however we’re never gonna go down to what they were in 2019 or prior. I honestly believe the prices will continue going up, not because of a shortage or the transportation aspect of it but because of the government more and more taxes

I know it was some months ago that the Scheel's in Loveland. While the employee was putting out ammo, customers were taking right away. Now when I go there there is plenty of ammo.

Bass Pro Shop, as well as Turner's Outdoorsman in SoCal have LOTS of 9x19 ammo. Still a tremendous shortage of primers though, and to a large degree, powders for those who reload. Revolver ammo is still scarce as hen's teeth. Thanks for the update!

Was at the St. Cloud Scheels today, and wasn't impressed enough on prices to buy ammo. Yes, they have a lot of 9mm, but more of it was over $20 that what you were showing. I was there to look at specific calibers, which they did not have in stock, so no ammo came home. This is not stock up pricing, this is buy it if you need it pricing still. When I see ammo at one store, then see the exact same thing at another store for almost twice the price, this tells me that the stores are still gouging.
You must live in the peoples Democratic Republic of California. I know the situation too well. It’s an Ag Inspection station. I have never been asked about things other the firewood, and Vegetables. Remember there is no sales tax in Oregon
Price on 9mm, online at least, is getting close to that $300 per 1000 shipped price that I think may be the new floor. Already there if you aren't afraid of steel case, though that will be drying up soon. Its the only caliber I think will come close to pre panic pricing this year.
We have 1000 rnd cases of Tula 9mm steel case for $420 here in Wyoming. That's the best deal at .42 c a round, that i could find. About .50 c a round for Blazer etc. Defensive 9mm is .75 to 1.00 a round and up. This was just last Saturday. I am still picking up a little bit here and there to replace practice ammo. But I am not buying it; or shooting it, like i use to.

Think by now most people are mostly stacked up with most American common popular calibers of ammo. But past 2 years now cannot find no 35 Rem ammo nowhere.
Just heard that due to Russia losing its favored nation status there’s an import tax of 30% on all Russian ammo. That’s going to add about five cents per round on 9 mm steel case. With that price increase brass case will be the better option and will increase demand on it. Could be in for more price increases.
As supply rises prices will fall. Material and labor have not increased by 80% so there is no real reason, aside from demand for these high prices. I'ts already coming down.
The cheapest I get my .38 spec. 158gr, LRN is $32 dollars a box of 50 and $60 dollars for my .45Colt 200gr. bullets for a box of 50 of course that's still expensive but getting better !!

No, we printed too much money for that to happen. .30-.35/rd maybe. Maybe if it's steel cased? I used to routinely buy M885 equivalent for about $11-$13/box (Winchester white box 9mm NATO Q4318), but..those days are gone.

That is mostly same case near me. But now only caliber that I still cannot find nowhere and did not see in past 2 years near me is 35 Remington.

I agree that prices will go up, but shotgun ammo and reloading supplies for all gauges are not prevalent and are running short everywhere.
