i DNFed the Gd of the woods and i feel kinda bad about it cus i got it as a gift…but the writing style bothered me so bad. idk if im just getting too pretentious but you were also spot on when you said that its a young adult mystery disguised as literary. and that’s what bothered me extra about it too like…if you’re gonna write a young adult mystery…just write a young adult mystery? this would’ve been a perfectly fine concept but i felt like the author was almost begging me to take them seriously through their prose. i guess i can donate it to the public library cus it’s pretty popular rn
Girl don't feel bad. I'm kinda jealous because I wish I had dnf'd like you. It was not a good book and I regret the hours lost and the emotions (mostrly aggravation) wasted on it. But hey, it just won the goodreads awards for mystery/thriller. I can't believe it's still agravating me all these weeks later😭😂
