What the heck are those high "spacer" bolts on the grab rail? Good looking bike, mostly stock, except handlebars, levers, exhaust and rear indicators & radiator guard. That being said, a nice example of a proper Hornet 900. Then there's the refurb (brake lines, discs&pads, coolant hoses - they deteriorate after 20 years!) I'd go for it - but I already got 2 of 'em. The new owner will be pleased - it's a bullet-proof Honda (and a very good example of their finest).
The spacer fixings look like some sort of cargo net mounting points to me. The crash bungs and rad guard are useful additions, but the mirrors are aftermarket as well. I wouldn't look at this bike unless the original end cans [it's not a full system] and mirrors were included, even better if it came with a centrestand! As for the discs, I'm still on my originals at over 100 000 miles.
Lovely. Does it also have the common "stink" issue, that your clothes smell after the ride? I have a 2002 one and it's an issue unfortunately, lovely bike though.
It is because of the high position of the exhaust pipes that the exhaust fumes stick behind your back. Have the same problem with mine. Have to Keep my motor clothes in the garage.
21 000 miles? Let me know when it's run in...
;-)
It would have been nice to hear it.
Hornet 900s sound a bit rattly like the cam chain is about to let go, I get the feeling the exhausts are a bit obnoxious as well.

I definitely do, and have stock pipes 🥲
I didn’t notice it….
@@Wafflebrah21 heh, same- I am looking for a fix for this, I wonder if it came like this from the factory or it's just something to do with the age.

Do you mean a petrol smell? It is also to do with the fuelling of the bike, FI slapped on an engine designed for carbs.
Where did you get the "net" at the end of the seat? :) Link please!
Thanks,
Not sure, sorry
Looks like some sort of Cool Cover to me, but may be an aftermarket seat.
Hello, how high is the RPM while riding ca 100 km/ h in last gear?
I am not sure, sorry…
I think I get around 65mph at 4k rpm which is around 105 km/h
Thanks👍
Under 4000 rpm on standard gearing. Most bikes of 750 cc or more will be doing 80 MPH at 5000 RPM.
