Mine goes down to 0 🤣😪
Well when im paying for 500mbps then 65 is low lol

I have a 1000 mb/s internet speed and steam is downloading at 5 mbs...come on now..

did you fix that its been 7 month ? because I have the same problem
Nah man, they show 5 mbps. But they do it even slower.
Same. Did you fix this?
@@JayaWayz If I remember correctly, I used a paid VPN

@@jwsb350same that’s crazy
@oxalic_ do you mean disk driver? i dont have Drive
No steam has done something within the last year or so. Now games take forever to download regardless of what settings you have on.
My problem is that on initial download i go up to my usual speed but then over the next few seconds i see a massive dip and i hold at about 5/10% of my actual download speed. sometimes it even just stops downloading for a few seconds. I dont get this with other Apps such as Epic or GOG
I have the exact same problem. Whenever I download via WLAN this problem appears. A while ago I only had this problem on Steam but now on GOG too.
This is happening to me now. Was wondering if there was a fix
ThTs normal I think it’s to fast for your computer to take that info in
I have the same problem and I haven't fixed it yet
I fix my issue... Mine was because I was using a usb hub once I downloaded it directly it was perfect.
30gb on Steam: 15hrs
30gb on SeriesX: 2hrs tops
but sure fiddling around with your settings will fix the shitty servers on the other end of the line where the actual problem lies. 🤡👌
@@yakimandu5098 😅
@@yakimandu5098don’t get mad, he actually has a point lmao. I have a $4000 pc I built and it runs better then a ps5 and a Xbox series x combined and I own a Xbox series s and I can download a 30gb game within 20-30 min while on pc that shit takes 3-5 hours or more. Idk why it’s weird. Sometimes the downloads on my pc are fast but most the time it’s not.
@oxalic_ Done that method a few times, i see no difference.
@@zetaopress2389 no! there is no point. and your comment is useless relativism. there is no difference between a modern 1000$ and a modern 4000$ pc when it comes to download speed unless maybe you are connected to some nasa pentagon superconductor backbone connection or whatever. but even then if steamservers are trash you get jack shit out of your alien technology super connection because the problem is the slow servers of steam that can not handle the traffic. videos like this are pure bullshit clickbait.
Im paying for 1 Gb and when I test the speed it be 600mbps but when I download a game it stays at 40 how do I fix it
Same!
Change the region, try out all kinds of different regions, even across the globe. Honestly trust me and try it out
changing my region actually did help me, was kind of surprised. thanks
One issue causing this is that you might be downloading games on a Hard-Disk Drive. The only way to fix this is move a game to a Solid-State Drive (if you have one).
when i download games from epic or battlenet my speeds are around 24MBs but when i download on steam its around 2 MBs and im downloading on a hard drive
@@wokeavocado2199 same 60-70 mb/s on epic and on steam i'm struggling between 3-10 mbs

I’m so confused bro I’ve added antenna to back of my new pc and still taking 2 days to download a 20gb game from steam. It’s only ever steam I have a problem with…
WHAT THE HELL GET A NEW CPU
Thanks Man. from 440kb/s to 10mb/s amazing
None of those worked for me. Years ago I was downloading on steam with 15-20mb/s, got through some internet speed upgrades over time and it very rarely reaches 30, often dropping below 15. Meanwhile downloading on Origin I never go below 60mb/s while staying at around 80mb/s rather consistently.
ye its same for me aswell its just steam is such a bad game launcher
I have been struggling with this issue on a high end PC for a while and have tried everything. I tried what you suggested but it didn't seem to help.
But as a suggestion for others where this doesn't help I found something which does improve things:
Instead of making sure the "Limit bandwidth to..." is unset, I actually set it to a lowish value which it then managed to maintain. You need to find a sweet-spot which then works consistently - I put it down to 7500 KB/s and it sticks to it and doesn't slow the PC down.
Still amazes me as to what causes this issue where by my second "old" gaming PC can download at 40M/s without any problems or slowdown what so ever!!
nah this actually works!! u saved me bro🙏
It when from kb to mb thanks
Thanks man. I put my limit to my normal Internet speed, and Steam no longer downloaded at a slow speed or stopped completely.
bruh i went from 6mbps to 54mbps thank you so much
@@bigbob5103 Bro 6i thought 6mbps was really good lol
When from 1 hour left to over a year 👍
yeah thanks Steam, i live in germany and just tried every location in Germany and even in belgium but slow downloads.
tested now a completly diffr country (USA) and its actually now reaching 40MB/s instead of only 1.3 amazing
one of my game updates went from 6yrs to 11 days thx a lot
💀
😮😭
for those wondering, the only real way to deal with this issue is to download your games on your SSD, sure changing region can help your speed but not the stability of it, Steam is garbage when it comes to downloading on something else than your main Drive therefore you HAVE to download on your SSD first and then change where it's stored
Here is how to do it
1. Install the game you want on your SSD
2. Right click on the game and go to proprieties
3. Go to local files
4. "move the folder" to any other drives you want
My ssd only has 80gb left and I’m downloading modern warfare 2 😭
exactly
worked for me now thx
Mine is downloading to my SSD and it still does it
God bless your soul

try restarting router
This did not help at all 😭My net in speed test was 400+ mbps d/u ... but steam would only give me a insanely inconsistent speed... sometimes even none for a solid 6 seconds
It be cool if you mentioned clearing dl cache will also completely restart your current download. It was a not so pleasant suprise to see it restarted my download i was 19 hours into while you also didnt fix steams slow download. Very cool
try restarting router
Daaaamn that sucks I’m sorry that happened to you
Why would he mention it? It legit says "Clear Download Cache" He also never said to clear the Cache so you clearing the Cache is your fault not his lmao.
He never said to do that though lol you muppet
I pay for 1000/1000 Mbps internet, which is also confirmed on Speedtests. However, when i download on steam, it stays on around 15 Mbps. I am not limiting the steam downloader in any way, and I also changed the download region a few times, but with no luck. Any tips?
i pay for 1 gig as well but on steam i get around half of that and its really annoying
Yeah in conclusion Steam is just a dogshit company that we are cursed to have to use because it’s one of the only apps with a good game selection. Their servers are the issue not our PC’s.

not working thank you
Um 50mbps to 9mbps so suck
Same
trying to download gta5
i live in massuchusetts and my download region thing was on boston changed it to new york faster
At first, you must know the difference between MBps and Mbps.
MBps - Mega Bytes per second
Mbps - Mega Bits per second
Here, the case is, your internet service provider provides you with lets say "100" Mbps which means 100 Mega BITS per second.
In general, 8 bits = 1 byte.
And the files we generally see (or use) are in terms of Mega Bytes (MB).
So, your actual internet speed is your Mbps in this example "100" / 8 = "12.5 MBps".
Most people mistake this and think there is a problem when there is nothing wrong and end up messing with their settings.
Hope, this helps.
I have 1000mbs speed and it downloads with 6-7mbs... on everything else it download with a maximum of 850mbs even on my xbox series X it downloads at full speed , 100gb+ games downloaded in less than 10 minutes...steam is super broken , i remember it being like this since 10+ years ago... nothing has changed.
this litterly did nothing

A big issue people could be having is that they’re downloading to their HDD instead of their SSD. Your SSD is your local hard drive and is much faster downloading speed

ITS HIGHLY DEPENDS ON YOUR DISK WRITE SPEED I was downloading call of duty warzone 2.0. and I was downloading it to me E drive which is a USB flash drive, and it was nor more than 2 Mbps I stopped it changed the download to my D drive and it went to more than 200 Mbps so make sure your disk write speed is good.
@tuf1f How do I make sure my disk drive speed is good? Like 2 days ago my download speed was at 40 mbps and now today it went down to 12mbps. Any suggestions? Maybe just bad wifi?
My problem is that after Steam changed the GUI of the downloads it takes a lot more time than it used to and I do mean with exactly the same download speed. Why does it say that download is 500MB, and when you start it it says that it is 20GB and then another number next to that which is even higher...
I wanted to update a game with that 500MB update now earlier and it said that it would take 45 *_MINUTES_* to complete, like what the... I got a 50/50Mbit connection and nothing wrong with the internet today, and it did show full speed on the download. That's why I'm just frustrated with it all because game updates and downloads worked fine for years on end, until they started with this shit.
As it is right now I got no clue of what the size of any update actually is, nor why it takes so god #¤%#¤ long. I also tried to paused it half way and when I wanted to start it again, it started from the beginning so a new 45 minute timer. Happened another time as well so no more Steam today because I've had it...
this is normal if you are updating a game, I don't know the explanation for sure but think as if you were installing the game again, not downloading but installing it, it happens to me too
-sorry for the broken english
Yeah, something happened right. In early January, I downloaded "A Way Out" (21.04 GB). Took like max 30 minutes. Now I'm here and downloaded 10GB in three hours. Like what? Download speed pending from 350kB/s to 30MB/s. Mean while doing a speedtest I have 915 Mbps down and 934 Mbps up. Why would Steam do this?
Man thank you alot before it showed me 20 hourse to download a 71 Gb file now its only showing 3 hourse thank you a lot
works as in India !!

my problem was with the drivers because of my boot option. I have a windows 11 and I saw in a tutorial that putting it in selective startup would make the pc start faster, but I noticed that the downloads were slower, so just put the startup of your pc in normal and the problem will be corrected
