I just took delivery of a brand new '23 Outlander Max XT-P 1000r two weeks ago and I LOVE everything about it! I still own and ride Honda three wheelers and they won't be going anywhere. But the advancements on these new ATVs really impress me greatly.
I’m not sure about the new can am atvs, but I’ll tell you that my family has an 2010 500 max xt and it will flat out go through anything that the U.P of Michigan can offer. It’s nice to have a 2” receiver because you can put a hitch and shackle setup in it and drag some serious logs with it out of the woods through 2 feet of fresh snow which we have done countless times effortlessly. I can’t imagine the 650 or 850 having any issues with that task either. For absolute brute work and play, the outlander series is definitely something to look into. Ours ended up being crushed by our 35x50 barn roof during an ice storm and she drove out of it with bent handle bars and a few broken Bits of plastic and is still hauling firewood and being trail ridden year round.
I just got a canam 570 and adjusted the preload to the softest setting, and it made All the difference in the world. Now I would say it is perfect ride, and still very stable.
I just bought a 2024 max XT witht he 850, I was torn between it and the 1000r. At first the dealer had told me only $500 difference between the two but he had made an error, when I went there it ended up being $1500 difference, not worth it, went with the 850 and bought some better tires and some accessories with the difference . Coming from a 750 king this thing has crazy power
Got it finally. Very happy, although it’s not like blasting around on a dirt bike really hanging it out. It’s big, heavy and your not tossing it around. I’m getting used to 4 wheels on the ground. Smooth almost boring ride. I hope to use it for plowing, levelling the property, dragging logs, pulling boats around etc. It’s really to fast, I’d like to remove some top end and add the the bottom. I was disappointed when I thought I could pull the front wheels off the ground. Maybe cause it’s the longer two up. I pulled it all apart and became familiar with it. Found to loose Zerks/Grease Fittings. The rear u-joint never had grease in it, I removed it and took pictures to show the dealer to prevent it from happening to some else. Other than that it was all good, hard to work on, nothing you do is simple, I think Can Am purposely made it challenging to service it. Lot of money and lots of maintenance, I’m happy with it for sure. Ive been spraying PAM underneath to prevent dirt from sticking, seems to work well..
Love the snow. We're coming from North Carolina up to northern New Hampshire between Christmas and New Year's Day to try our hand at snowmobiling. Hoping there's as much snow in that area then as you have in this video. Great content. Keep up the good work!
Your going to want a whole lot more than the mere couple of inches that are in this video, fortunately for you and everyone else there will likely be many feet of snow by then.
Hey man, could you make a video on servicing this machine? I have one also but am too nervous to pull anything apart to figure out how to change a belt and such
Very informative, thanks for posting this. I'm actually waiting on a dealer to get back to me on a 2022 max XT 850. Coincidentally I also live in South Western Ontario. Nice trails out your way? There isn't much my way. May have to venture out to your area and explore once I get my unit. Again, thanks for posting this, was very helpful.
I picked up the 650 version of this ATV and you are right they are pricey but it is a very solid machine . I am new to ATVing but from people who have tried the machine , they say it's a world of difference. I have found it comfortable and easy to control. If you are using an ATV allot . This is a great machine
James Mastroianni true, but I think this is also partly caused by people buying stuff they can’t afford via financing. People are more than welcome to spend their money as they see fit.
@@jonny5662 financing does make higher prices justifiable, but theres also the fact that if you wanted a basic atv of yesteryear with only a 470/570cc motor and all the basics, you can get their "classic" model where the 570xt tops out around 8.5k US. Complaining since the price of the 2up xt 850cc is high, that in general pricing is out of control, would be like saying a denali costing 70k is way too expensive and pickup truck pricing is out of control when a brand new pickup could be had for 40k msrp if you weren't always looking at top trims
@@Icutmetal its not an opinion that visco lok doesn't lock the front diffs when you actually need it. actually visco look couldn't lock the front diff until like a year ago. also who tf replies to a 2 year old comment
This machine seems like a perfect sweet spot for work and rec. For someone who knows they need more power than a 520, but doesn’t want to get slapped for riding a 50 yard wheelie riding with the wife.
I’m fairly new to ATVs and have a sportsman for work around the house ... I am familiar with off-roading jeeps and know that the 4dr is at a serious disadvantage due to the extended length/break over ... is this a noticeable issue with the max being longer ?
Not on the one I've been driving. The clearance and the huge tire size help eat up that gap. I haven't high centered mine, and on plenty of terrain types.
WHY DO YOU NEED 78 HORSEPOWER ? where I live we pick up more bodies from people from southern Ontario that go ripping down trails that they don't know and on your video that seems to be what you show . Any way nice video of knowledge
@@woah_astro3867 Sorry for sounding stupid to you , was having a bad day . It's just the ripping down trails brought back memories of finding a loved ones dead body wrapped around a tree . Hey Stephen, I’m from right across the border in Niagara Falls. We should hook up and go for a ride. There is a great place roughly 2 hours south in PA called Majestic Lost Trails that will put any of your test models to a good variety of trails. I’m on my 5th side by side and just purchased a 2020 XMR defender and so far I only have 6 miles on it so I really need a riding buddy!

He was just giving an initial overview and impression, he'll be back as he said, with a ride through deeper snow and more rugged terrain that may actually challenge the machine, at a later date.
Dylan Macaya you realize how stupid the title over the video is?? How does he know deep snow won’t stop that 900 lb quad over 1k lbs with him on it? I promise deep snow will stop this quad. Of course 1/2 inch of snow won’t stop it it wouldn’t stop a Prius 😂😂😂😂

Try replacing the coolant tank, not to mention all the hard to get to grease fittings. I have 2020 650. Love the bike , hate the maintenance engineering. I only have 1,000 miles on it.

For that price point, why doesnt Can Am use LED headlights?
Does LED headlights make it perform any better?

Can Am is a beast in the recreational vehicle industry. Thanks for the peek at the new 2020 & great enthusiasm!

The 2021 has more on it and costs the same as a Honda 520!
Definitely going Can-Am!
Put my deposit/order on my 2021 max xt 850 the other day, soooooo excited!
Really nice unit. I'm a Polaris guy but I would consider getting this!
So the max has a longer wheelbase compared to the non max?
Sounds like Can Am did it right with the new Outlander. Thanks for sharing.
I am debating on buying a can am out lander 650 or 850. Is there a noticeable difference in fuel economy between the two?
I have the same atv. The engine is a powerhouse. Right off of idle the torque hits hard. It can be scarry for an inexperienced rider.
650 max has plenty of pony's, very impressed with it
Pony’s what?
Hell yeah congrats on the beautiful property 👍🏻
Still waiting on mine. Ordered a 2021 in April, just recently told them to cancel and order in the 2022, I’m supposed to see in Oct…

Where you saw the snow here, It's not snow,
how deep it is ? 2 inches :)
Love my 16 850
Nice. Did you say a little wider by 11"? I assume you meant 1" more at 49" rather than 59". Probably a metric to imperial conversion issue :).

Is itc new on the 2020 850 outlander standard or just max xt
Not exclusive to just the MAX, its also on the regular sized 850 and 1000 as well.
