This video is so real! Washing twists is a scam! lol I do not like it either. Now I just spray my hair and scalp with water or rosemary water every day and I can leave them in a full 2 months and my scalp never gets inflamed once a week a put leave in on my ends to keep them curled and thats it never washing my mini twists again! lol

It happens when I wash my mini twists. I now treat my scalp with rosemary oil while I have twists in as well as use a wet wash rag to clean my scalp but NEVER wash them until I am ready to take them out. And I take them down BEFORE washing, to avoid the matting.

Absolutelyyyyyyyyy not. I’ve done it once, made me cry during takedown. Never again. Micellar water massaged into scalp…with a lil tea tree oil….then spray bottle of water. Then warm wash cloth to rinse it all away….dats all i can do, if i gotta do more than that i gotta start over. I can’t. Whew PTSD.

Aww so sorry that you had to go through this. It’s like you enjoy the short wash and then the hard part is afterwards, nahhhh. Your twists look pretty though. Chunky twists is definitely an easier option.
Yeah that gave me serious PTSD. It took about 6 hrs to take my hair down and it only took me 3 hrs to put them in
You are 100% right! I don’t wash mine, EVER. I rinse and condition them, that’s it.

Awww! Maybe the issue happened because you were rubbing the shampoo and conditioner bars in circles when applying to your scalp? If you do decide to try again, maybe just scrub up and down on your scalp and then down the length of the twists? At least you tried it so now you know what you don’t like. Still a win!
Yes I thought about that as well. But I think I’m good on trying it again because the take down experience was horrific for me.

I can not and will not wash my hair while instead mini twists. I will leave my hair alone until its time to take them OUT, and then I will wash my hair. My hair is too fine and has the tendency to tangle. So I already know... 😒

I think the problem is twisting from the buttom, when you do that your roots are loose and will tangle during washing but when you braid at the roots then twist then it will not tangle... I do wash my twust and i braid from buttom, also when you have a lot of new growth its best to loose it before washing. Thats my take dear❤

Thanks! At the beginning of the video, you can see I didn’t have a lot of new growth. The roots were loosened from washing them. I’m sure braiding the roots would help but I don’t plan to attempt washing twists anymore.

Washing twist does matte the roots. I would grease my roots if I were to wash my twist.
