- This is it, the final assembly of of our new Woodland Mill HM126. You will want to watch this as we discuss some helpful tips and things I discovered along the way that I wished I had known earlier in the assembly process. Trust me when I say it will save you time and problematic headaches down the road.

Read the instructions. Very well done instruction manual. All the metric bolt lengths are described in each step very plainly. Get a metric tape measure and compare the bolt lengths as supplied.
Read them. All the nuts and bolts came in one big box. We separated them and measured them then put them in their own marked bag. In my opinion, when you spend this much money on something, the nuts and bolts could and should be separate and marked. Shouldn’t have to do that once it arrives. But that’s just my thoughts. Everyone has their own opinion. Overall, we are well pleased with the performance of the mill. It works great. 👍
They must of heard you about the bolt sizes. I got the HM126 about two weeks ago and each bag was labeled .

Our frontier sawmill came with the bolts all in separate bags and well marked. It was hard enough during assembly even with them being organized well.....tough doing assembly in your situation. it is coming together though. Also my mill head came MOSTLY assembled other than the top pulley system. Only mentioning this for reference for anyone inquiring. Best wishes

I think the problem with so many things we purchase now is they are all out-sourced from over seas some where and the attention to quality and common sense gets lost in the transactions. We got it together though and on to making some sawdust. Thanks again.

I agree with you 100% , when they write and package these directions and hardware they should think a little. I was watching a channel the other day that had something delivered and he was putting together. there was a separate bag of hardware for each step. and the bags were marked, step 1, Step 2, etc...... Whoever thought of that was genius.
I know, right? I mean how hard would it be to print up a label or something. I’m pretty mechanically inclined so it wasn’t a huge challenge but what about the next guy? I just think it is an easy step for complete customer satisfaction. Any way, on we go. It’s still a great day.
Why not pick up a cheap standard/metric tape measure and measure the hardware
Thats a great idea. Luckily, I have a couple and know mechanics pretty well. But for other folks that aren’t quite familiar with nuts and bolts that would be a great investment. Personally, I do think it wouldn’t take much to have them label the bags. Thanks for watching and the good suggestions.
I still watch these video's even after I completed my hm130max assembly.
I also understand your frustration, For me it took several weeks to assemble with weather and my old sore bones.
Working a little at the time then coming back to it days later after weather improved and knee joint flare up subsided.
This was a Large and complex puzzle to put together, but well worth the effort.
I wish I had sourced 20' foot angle and drilled my own holes, do away with splices/joints.
Look at it this way, you were part of the frontier for Woodland.
I Echo that Woodlands customer service is "Above" anything I have encountered elsewhere.
My bolts were labeled, so that seems to be fixed.
In the end I think it saws better than most are able or capable of reading a tape measure, if you get the track right.
Thanks for the great comment. The mill was a challenge getting everything figured out but once we did all went well. I agree on doing away with the splices and joints. I think it would be easier to stay true to level then. I enjoy my mill now and it has been a huge asset to our homestead. Thanks again.

awesome i have been watching your deck build and seen some of your video's with you guys sawing logs. i got the same one coming next week just wondering the torque wrench is it a 1/4 or 1/2 drive. i am getting one in the next couple days. love your video's keep them coming

The torque wrench is a 1/2 inch. You will be very glad you bought it. Set it to 23 and you will never have a problem. Thanks again and have a great weekend. How high are your 6x6 post sticking out of the ground? I am starting my build tomorrow and have the exact same idea you did.

Saw mill looks great, can't wait to see you run it & build up your supply of lumber. Then next you will be building up a storm. Does the saw mill come with a tarp or cover of some sort to protect it from the elements when not in use?
Thanks Roberta. You can purchase a special tarp cover made specifically for the mill but its $160.00. So for right now I use a regular heavy tarp and keep it covered. The idea is to build a sawmill shed over it in the near future.
@@CreeksideMaplesHomestead a shed would be of better use as you could also make it big enough to hold your milled wood too. I'm surprised they don't include one with the unit, I mean there was a considerable sum of $$ spent on purchasing the unit & setting it up so well. I mean a cover/tarp.
