    I had an expandable hose once. ONCE! It didn’t last a season before it started tearing away from the connector. As much as wanted this to work, I never bought another one and stuck with a solid hose that’s lasted for years.

    Just recently found your channel when you bought that BIG compressor, and I have to say, I'm really enjoying the laid back, but to the point style you have going here! It feels pretty fresh and new, in a very good way! Keep up the great work buddy! Cheers from over in Newfoundland. 😊

    I’d like to know how long this hose lasted? I’ve been through a half dozen of these things and I’m pretty fed up with them now. Every time I go to use one of them it either starts leaking pretty bad or completely bursts and gushes water everywhere. Does anyone make one that is durable?

    With all that extra hose you could wash a few of the neighborhood cars while you have your bucket thawed out.lol. another few weeks and the winter will be over(with a bit of luck)! If you get the opportunity please do a long term test.

    • @wbwills2

      This type of hose is convenient ,the trade off is some durability. I’m going to go for it this season. Prefer the straight brass nozzle you twist on&off. Suspect it should pair nicely with the retraction .just using on soft grass & not going to yank it or put much stress on the ends. There is one particular hose brand (Aqua blue or aqua Joe.?.)surely there’s others,same product rebranded ect. More of a mini firehose design. Appears more durable but doesn’t retract on its own.kink free ,light weight ,less bulk.both types would be fine.might flip a coin . Time for something different. Thx
      Spray on.

    When i switch of the water from the spigot, the water comes out of spigot from those tiny holes..does it happen to you..how do i fix it?

    • @ScottRods
      @ScottRods  2 года назад

      I'm not sure where you mean, with the water coming out, but basically the water will keep coming out until the hose has stopped retracting as it's under elastic pressure.

    • @AtulSharma-vc2tg
      @AtulSharma-vc2tg 2 года назад

      @@ScottRods scott the water comes out of the spigot (those tiny circular holes) when i shut if off. This happens as a result of the water pipe contracting since there is water in it due to it being stretched...is this something that happens to you too..? i am new to all this so dont know if this is how it should work or there is some problem with mine.

  • @wannabyawatch
    @wannabyawatch 2 года назад +1

    What is the make and model of the nozzle that you switched out? I've always had problems with nozzles that have switchable spray patterns. BTW I might want to try one of those hoses but the spigot is before the regulator and might just cause the hose to burst. I'm using a Craftsman hose that I've had for a couple decades. You do make a very watchable video. Thanks.

    You know we still have a couple of weeks of winter left technically and the first few weeks of spring aren't always the best. But it's all good. The only cons I've seen on those hoses is they don't like constant pressure and they tend to move around a lot on my well as the pressure goes up and down, messes up my lawn sprinkler. Nice review and I got to say they work awesome for washing the car.

    Can you attach them to pressure washers?

    • @ScottRods
      @ScottRods  2 года назад

      I use it on mine with no problem. Pressure washers actually reduce the flow, that's how they make pressure, like when you pinch the end of a hose with your fingers. Actually that's not entirely accurate, but you get the idea, lol.

      @@1957cajun a friend that works at a hardware store gave me a bunch of retuned ones. 100’,50’s& some 25s. Dk why they were returned. No damage. Except for 1 The only green one in the bunch. Also got a couple more conventional rubber hoses. I have used a 75’ rubber to a 50’ rubber to 50 feet of black expansion hose. Uncoated silver aluminum fittings on the expandable. It takes a minute to build pressure in the expandable one & I rarely uncoil the rubber ones. No problems for first summer I can remember. The combo handles the pressure better..maybe..?. I think I accidentally figured out what works best. For me anyway. Give mixed hoses a shot a see if you notice any difference ..I need to trench in some more spigots .2 spots I can think of off the top of my head.
