For anyone who likes to have counts (like I do) before starting a project, here's what this one requires: 100 Pistons 73 Sticky Pistons 30 Repeaters 19 Hoppers 161 Redstone Dust 1 Redstone Block 4 Redstone Torches 80 Oak Wood 7 Obsidian 1 Dispenser 1 Dropper 6 Chests 25 Half Slabs 292 Regular blocks 10 Glass 1 Lever
This thing still works after all these years....bloody brilliant. I need to move mine as i've decided it's not in the best location. Had a ton of trouble relocating this video.
This build uses: 10 glass 884 cobblestone 804 wooden planks 296 iron 430 redstone 66 oak wood 74 slimeballs (all are raw materials used in either placing or crafting but all added up) (i suggest getting 6 more of each material listed above)
connor costa if you think about it the planks are not relevant seeing as they will be replenished practically immediately, also you neglected to point out the large amount of bone meal that will be used. but the build also supplies you with infinite apples so that more than makes up for the cost
Now. I'm gonna do the thing that mumbo should have done when he made this video. RESOURCE LIST:: 64+18 WOOD 64+9 STICKY PISTONS 64+13 PISTONS 1 DIRT ~4x64 BUILDING BLOCKS 64+64+16 REDSTONE 1 REDSTONE BLOCK 24 SLABS 20 HOPPERS 1 DROPPER 1 DISPENSER 8 FURNACES/OBSIDIAN/CHESTS 32 REPEATERS 1 LEVER 4 REDSTONE TORCH 8 CHESTS Correct me if anything is wrong. NOTE: This list is slightly modified, instead of having a glassblock on the double piston extender you put a wood block and run a repeater instead of a redstone dust into it. This will work better especially in 1.8.
Coolmagn78 This are all the things I got when taking my treefarm down, when I rebuilt it though I noticed that you for example need more slabs than that. And I only built 10x7 wall of pistons instead of 12.
Iron P(old) You were still right about the not enought sticky pistons, I think 6 or 12 of the normal pistons needs to be converted to sticky ones. Not sure though but be prepared for that.
Mumbo Jumbo in your tutorials you should do *a full inventory of what is needed* so people can gather the stuff prior to the tutorial and then follow it along once they have everything
That's where mods (or MCEdit) come in handy. There's a mod called Schematica, which can select an area, save it as a schematic, and display a ghost image of it to make it easier to build. It also calculates what blocks are used in the schematic. You can also do the same calculation with MCEdit.
Just for the record, this build uses the following: 1 Dirt 80 Wood 10 Glass 1 Dispenser 73 Sticky Pistons 98 Pistons 2 Magenta Wool 28 Light Blue Wool 34 Lime Wool 16 Pink Wool 9 Cyan Wool 207 Iron Blocks 25 Stone Slabs 7 Obsidian 6 Chests 1 Lever 4 Redstone Torches 1 Block of Redstones 19 Hoppers 1 Dropper 161 Redstone 30 Repeaters Obviously the building materials like the iron blocks and the wool can be replaced with other things as needed. The obsidian can also be furnaces or other items that can't be pushed by pistons.
confirmed still working in 1.20.1, even still works if you strip the logs inside the mechanism, tree will still grow. helps for people who use log cutting mods like treecapitator as well, to prevent the machine breaking.
Built it and it works perfectly. I didn't even follow the corrections you put in the description and it still works. You make great, easy to follow tutorials :) Keep up the great work!
Having a resource "shopping list" between showing off the project at he beginning and the build would be a very nice addition to your videos. Makes saving up/crafting all the materials needed not as much a guessing game :)
The resources you need are: -230 Buidling Blocks -81 Oak Logs -73 Sticky Pistons -98 Normal Pistons -25 Slabs -154 Redstone -27 Redstone Repeaters -10 Glass -4 Redstone Torches -1 Dispenser -19 Hoppers (+1 for the extra Bonemeal Chest) -6 Chests ((+2 for the extra Bonemeal Chest) -1 Redstone Block -1 Lever -7 Unmovable Blocks (Furnaces, Obsidian) -Lots of Bonemeal -Lots of Saplings Good luck building it, please leave i like, i put quite some time into this list.
Thank you for leaving the map download in the description, I had a problem with mine and looking hard on the downloaded map helped me fix it. You earned a new subscriber
Mumbo, thanks so much for uploading this tutorial! I have an semi-automatic tree farm on my Xbox 360 version world, you have to place the saplings & use bonemeal yourself to do it but works the same. I plan on building this in it's place once I'm back on it for a while. Instead of hoppers I plan on having everything fall out of the bottom into a water stream so I can pick up what falls down without a problem. This will be my first major build in 2014! Woo!
Thanks for the heads up!! Good to know if you are going into this in survival. I started off with slightly less than what I needed so it was a pain going to find more resources in the middle of the project.
Thanks for the tutorial Mumbo, I made a slight modification where a line of block breakers receive the tree a few pushes away, then feed into some hoppers which lead to a barrel for deep storage. My computer doesn't like redstone that spazzes out, so I use a timer instead. As far as placing saplings, a felling turtle adds a nice touch.
Doing this on a skyblock will be hard. 1.) I'll need redstone. Lots and lots of redstone. a.) In that case, I'll need to make a mob farm and kill more that 3,000 witches. 2.) I'll need iron for hoppers, pistons, others, etc. etc. a.) Iron farm. I.) Golden apples to make cure a zombie villager. 1.) Gold farm a.) Redstone for obsidian... more witches... II.) Will need stone to actually get the job done 1.) Stone Gen a.) redstone for stone gen (more witches) b.) Possibility of getting iron from skeletons, Zombies (less time needed than the already vigorous work applied) 3.) I'll need a slime farm for sticky pistons 1.) stone gen a.) redstone for stone gen (even more witches) 4.) I'll practically need a tree farm to make this tree farm on a skyblock. not to mention 5 years worth of time...
lol. I think he actually uses them because they have outlines on the blocks, making it easier to visually count the number of blocks for tutorial purposes.
RocksterOne Sorry I didn't see that but I was just suggesting that instead of making someone else do the work maybe mumbo should take the time and include it in his description.
so my build worked sort of. I ended up with one, sometimes 2 long lines of logs pushed out from the 12 long piston wall. The timing was a little off on the pistons, and only trees taller than 4 or 5 blocks would get pushed further down that wall. The solution was easy though. I put a wall of furnaces opposite the 12 long piston wall. For aesthetics in my build, I put it 10 blocks away from the piston wall, but you could change that to whatever you want. Furnaces, or any block not movable by a piston, forces that wood pile onto the next piston column in the line. Works like a charm now!! thx mumbo
With the wiring as-is, you've that wall of 84 pistons firing every time a tree grows when only 7 of them are ever needed. They just push a line of trees away from them 1 at a time. One of the things that I really liked from King Happy's design was that the piston wall was set up to only fire when a line of trees had reached the end. Then it would push 12 trees away at once and would fire 1/12 as often. Setting it up that way might help with the lag you are experiencing. :)
Just finished this in survival, couldn't be happier with the product!! Just remember everyone to cap off the top so you don't get large oaks growing and messing with your system
Lol stole my post! jk haha yea Looks like a lot of us are building this for all those doors =p Its gonna help the rest of the server too with wood demand as well =)
It's always interesting on what people come up with, and it's also interesting how people can have different takes on the same thing, so of course your videos ARE interesting.
No, I just built it and those numbers were absurdly wrong, unless he was counting for the pistons that were 6 tall. I built it exactly how Mumbo did in the video, and the numbers were off by a stupid amount.
Hey Mumbo, whilst reading the description of this video i noticed that you have spelt wood as in "Would." I hope you see this comment so that you can fix it asap. P.s. love the tree farm ;D
This works fine, except for collecting saplings. It collects some, but most of them just get shot everywhere (outside of the machine). It appears they are going through the pistons, I've been hearing this is a glitch since 1.10. Does anyone have any solutions? Thanks.
I just built this on the skyblock server i am on,, and WOW..This thing really shoot out the wood!!.With my beacon and good ax i have inf wood now, and fast.Thank you for this video and all the other great videos you make.
Got to 20:56, tested: didn't work, tested for ages: still didn't work, gives up, watches rest of video: "Sorry about that these repeaters need to be set to 2 tic-" me:"AAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!"
Guys although mumbo said in the description that the pistons only have to be 6 blocks high, if you do it that way your trees will only be 4 block tall trees. so just a heads up.
i dont get it at 8 mins in you put a msg on screen saying the repeaters should be on 2 tiks but then i look later in the video there still all set to 1 like how you placed them but your farm still works does that mean you don't actually need it on 2 tiks?
*****im not sure if you understand but 1 tick for a repeater is the default setting, 2 for the one right click, 3 for two right clicks, 4 ticks for full setting.
SomeGuy i very much understand how a repeater works i don't think you understood my question but it's fine mumbo already answerd. i was just wondering because for example he placed one at 8:30 and left it on one tick after saying they should be on 2 ticks. there also seems to be annotations in the video now it seems to stop people from asking the same question as i did haha.
+Chad MacLean (BulletRHLI) I just built this as well and have the same problem. The saplings go everywhere but into the hoppers. I'm starting to think I'm going to need to supplement this tree farm with another.
+jbartl87 The changes to pistons in 1.9 means you need blocks on the leaf breaking pistons. Not sure how to update this design, just know that's how it was fixed in a similar build.
i think the saplings keep flying away from the bug with piston where the head of it despawns for a sec. just like piston elevator where you put the player on the back end of the pistion it doing the same thing to the saplings and apples
Cool videos. Helped me a lot, super efficient Comfortable voice, you put things in a nutshell, you dont talk to much, its easy to follow, you build fast, you explain well Perfect Video!!
yes you can do without but it takes up like an hour more time having to recollect the resources and I did this on skyblock thats how annoying it was having to go find more resources cause 1 or 2 blocks i didn have
Robo tix On SMP there is always a shop. There is Redstone, iron, gold and basically eveything you can't get on skyblock but you can in vannilla minecraft
hey man, great tutorials! Very helpful! One tip though, and i think that may help, is for devices as large as this one, to show the viewer where the entrance/operating area or smth will be, when you start placing the first blocks of the construction, and in what alignment the whole thing will be in, compared to this operating area. For the rest, excellent stuff!
Welp, as it seem on 1.16.1 version this machine no longer works.... from building the farm multiple times and getting it correct, it stops working. The pistons push the wood correctly but then randomly stops pushing them correctly? And it stops the whole machine to stop only after 1 minute of use.... 😕
I've built this farm on 6 different servers in the last 1.5 years. Absolutely unbreakable design, cheap on the resources, and heaps of back for the buck.
MUMBO i need help i was using the tree farm and something happened like it was working and then suddenly the bottem pistons to puch the wood away wont move and i rechecked everything and it is hooked up and the bottem 2 are just not working It is on a server that you can come help me out with if you want if you want the IP just message me
Gage Stavig The timing on the repeaters pushing the wood towards the collection area needs to be increased, whats happening is that the pistons to push the rest of the wood away is obstructing the path because its extending too soon so the bottom piston to remove the newly grown sapling doesn't extend
Mumbo I really enjoy your intro, it has a nice little song, classic shapes and colors. Your videos are also great, I love the tutorials and building projects. You're really awesome with Redstone, I'm quite jealous. I love the too small series, really big remodels of smaller ones, genius. but a thing you could do though is adding the ingredients needed for some of these how to
For anyone who needs it: in 1.19.2 the repeater which powers all the pistons need to be on four ticks; and the top tree-pushing piston needs a target block.
If you want it to have a much bigger storage capacity for bonemeal, just replace the second from the top chest with a rail, break the half slab infront of it, stand next to the rail, then click on the rail with a storage minecart for however many chests you want it to be, this number can grow infinitely, but will impact your performance
I love this machine, but there are a couple things I did to make it better. I removed the dropper that feeds the dispenser and used a horizontal hopper chain to feed the bone meal in from a double chest on the back easily reachable from the ground. I also changed the clock to a comparitor doubled back on its self so that when the machine is turned off the redstone is not powered letting the dispenser fill while its off. I also raised the roof leaving a 1 block air gap so fewer saplings end up on the roof.
Oy, Mumbo, nice tutorial here. One suggestion though, for someone like me, who actually considers building some of your larger designs, it would be really usefull if you included a list of used materials with numbers so we can prepare them before we start with the building...
A final dimensions would be nice also, like "ends up this long, this wide and this tall" :) Love your tutorials, just brilliant. Easy to follow & clear explanations/instructions!
A note for people tinkering with this: heightening this farm is not a good idea unless you plan to only use it for birch and jungle trees. Any tree that can grow branches runs the risk of damaging the tree chamber; the extra logs can easily build up and cause the leaf crushing pistons to shunt each other and their wiring out of place.
hey mumbo, I don't know how hard it would be, but for projects like this it would be cool if you had a list of all the items needed, so if your doing it in survival you can prepare and save up for it. love your videos thanks man
This works awesome, after I fixed all my repeater lane directions. thx OH? put the roof on right above pistons or foliage clogs sky light and jams machine.
For everyone needing help with the list of resources, i've made my own list. Your gonna need: 1 Lever. 22 Hopper's. 2 and a half stack of building blocks. 1 Block of redstone. 1 Dispenser. 16 pistons. 1 stack and 8 sticky pistons. 7 obsidian. (You can use furnaces.) 1 glowstone. 4 Redstone torches. 10 glass blocks. 1 dropper. 8 chest's 1 stack and 54 redstone dust. 32 slabs. 1 dirt And that is the full list of resources your gonna need. No problem.
Still works like a charm on ps4 and I added a double dropper to make it AFK...but it's so dam quick that isn't really necessary...just couldn't be bothered to keep opening chests for saplings. Crusher produce around 1:1.4 ratio for saplings per tree so you never run out either. Skeleton spawner feeding to the tree farm and I'm all set...brilliant Mumbo!
What's your psn? I won't be online until tomorrow night and maybe not until Saturday morning as away for a couple of days and depends on journey home tomorrow. I would of course have a look but I just copied this one...don't know if that's any good for you. what's wrong with it? Does it just jam after 3 or 4 trees? Or not work at all?
Yes i do enjoy them. Yes they are useful ... i impress my friends with your compact designs because my designs are kinda large to be honest. Keep up the good work mate.
For anyone who likes to have counts (like I do) before starting a project, here's what this one requires:
100 Pistons
73 Sticky Pistons
30 Repeaters
19 Hoppers
161 Redstone Dust
1 Redstone Block
4 Redstone Torches
80 Oak Wood
7 Obsidian
1 Dispenser
1 Dropper
6 Chests
25 Half Slabs
292 Regular blocks
10 Glass
1 Lever
Thanks a lot dude!
Wow! Made my life better :)
I do to I'm one of those ppl who likes to be prepared
ty
Thank you! I'm building this in Creative. But thanks.
This thing still works after all these years....bloody brilliant. I need to move mine as i've decided it's not in the best location. Had a ton of trouble relocating this video.
This build uses:
10 glass
884 cobblestone
804 wooden planks
296 iron
430 redstone
66 oak wood
74 slimeballs
(all are raw materials used in either placing or crafting but all added up)
(i suggest getting 6 more of each material listed above)
And 7 obsidian
Thanks a lot dude
connor costa if you think about it the planks are not relevant seeing as they will be replenished practically immediately, also you neglected to point out the large amount of bone meal that will be used. but the build also supplies you with infinite apples so that more than makes up for the cost
+connor costa This was made in 1.7 --- Slimeblocks were added in 1.8
Jonah Sabbe where does he mention slimeblocks he says slimeballs cuz of sticky pistons "-_-
Now. I'm gonna do the thing that mumbo should have done when he made this video.
RESOURCE LIST::
64+18 WOOD
64+9 STICKY PISTONS
64+13 PISTONS
1 DIRT
~4x64 BUILDING BLOCKS
64+64+16 REDSTONE
1 REDSTONE BLOCK
24 SLABS
20 HOPPERS
1 DROPPER
1 DISPENSER
8 FURNACES/OBSIDIAN/CHESTS
32 REPEATERS
1 LEVER
4 REDSTONE TORCH
8 CHESTS
Correct me if anything is wrong.
NOTE:
This list is slightly modified, instead of having a glassblock on the double piston extender you put a wood block and run a repeater instead of a redstone dust into it. This will work better especially in 1.8.
Thx dude. just what i needed :-D
Coolmagn78 This are all the things I got when taking my treefarm down, when I rebuilt it though I noticed that you for example need more slabs than that.
And I only built 10x7 wall of pistons instead of 12.
OKAY. I'll try and build the tree farm when i get enough slimeballs :D
..... derp never mind did 6 wide not 5
Iron P(old) You were still right about the not enought sticky pistons, I think 6 or 12 of the normal pistons needs to be converted to sticky ones. Not sure though but be prepared for that.
Mumbo Jumbo in your tutorials you should do *a full inventory of what is needed* so people can gather the stuff prior to the tutorial and then follow it along once they have everything
Yes, even an estimate would be very helpful in future tutorials.
Got to agree. It is really hard to guess the amounts as a viewer as I usually end up having less of everything.
That's where mods (or MCEdit) come in handy. There's a mod called Schematica, which can select an area, save it as a schematic, and display a ghost image of it to make it easier to build. It also calculates what blocks are used in the schematic. You can also do the same calculation with MCEdit.
Just for the record, this build uses the following:
1 Dirt
80 Wood
10 Glass
1 Dispenser
73 Sticky Pistons
98 Pistons
2 Magenta Wool
28 Light Blue Wool
34 Lime Wool
16 Pink Wool
9 Cyan Wool
207 Iron Blocks
25 Stone Slabs
7 Obsidian
6 Chests
1 Lever
4 Redstone Torches
1 Block of Redstones
19 Hoppers
1 Dropper
161 Redstone
30 Repeaters
Obviously the building materials like the iron blocks and the wool can be replaced with other things as needed. The obsidian can also be furnaces or other items that can't be pushed by pistons.
Listening to the tutorial in half speed is making me wake the neighbours with laughter. It's truly wonderful!
11:45 to 12:00 omg xD
You could build this next to a Skeleton spawner and then you'd have infinite bonemeal for this!
confirmed still working in 1.20.1, even still works if you strip the logs inside the mechanism, tree will still grow. helps for people who use log cutting mods like treecapitator as well, to prevent the machine breaking.
Built it and it works perfectly. I didn't even follow the corrections you put in the description and it still works.
You make great, easy to follow tutorials :)
Keep up the great work!
Oh mumbo. It is astonishing how you make things so excellently simple and clear for everyone from beginners to experts
Supplies (this doesn't include the collection area!)
this might be slightly inaccurate.
- 7 pistons
- 68 sticky pistons
- 20 repeaters
- 5 RS torches
- 16 hoppers.
- 5 chests.
- 1 dispencer.
- 1 dropper.
- 1 RS block.
- 35 slabs.
- 90-100 building blocks
- 84 Oak wood.
- 1 transparent block.
THANK YOU! I just made tons of pistons and I'm still super short. Knowing I need about 70 helps!
I loaded world download and i dismantled the one with the collection area. And I got this:
134 blocks, 25 Half Slabs, 7 Obsidian, 34 lime wool, 28 light blue wool, 18 pink wool, 9 cyan wool, 3 magenta wool, 10 glass, 18 hoppers, 1 dispenser, 1 dropper, 6 chests, 1 lever, 73 sticky pistons, 98 pistons, 59 wood, 1 dirt, 1 redstone block, 161 redstone dust, 30 redstone repeaters, 4 redstone torches.
Tuttomenui looks like I left out 21-22 blocks of stationary wood that I thought was from growing trees. So My list is short by that amount I believe.
Grant Wallace yeah i needed more sticky pistons
Depends on collection area. It;s like 4 or 5x 11 push pistons + whatever is in main area.
made this today in 1.15.2. still works a treat, drags the ass out of my poor little lap top but down to 4 chunks and 10 FPS hahaha. thanks Mumbo Jumbo
THE SACRED INTRO
Having a resource "shopping list" between showing off the project at he beginning and the build would be a very nice addition to your videos. Makes saving up/crafting all the materials needed not as much a guessing game :)
The resources you need are:
-230 Buidling Blocks
-81 Oak Logs
-73 Sticky Pistons
-98 Normal Pistons
-25 Slabs
-154 Redstone
-27 Redstone Repeaters
-10 Glass
-4 Redstone Torches
-1 Dispenser
-19 Hoppers (+1 for the extra Bonemeal Chest)
-6 Chests ((+2 for the extra Bonemeal Chest)
-1 Redstone Block
-1 Lever
-7 Unmovable Blocks (Furnaces, Obsidian)
-Lots of Bonemeal
-Lots of Saplings
Good luck building it, please leave i like, i put quite some time into this list.
it still works in 1.21 in 2024. This farm is amazing.
Well, 10 minutes in and I found out that I built it back wards. I can't even right now.
Thank you for leaving the map download in the description, I had a problem with mine and looking hard on the downloaded map helped me fix it. You earned a new subscriber
FINALLLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Time to build!

Hah, this vid still has the intro!
22:01, just because I want to know if that changes when it gets removed.
still here 3 weeks later
@@naomieowdev still here 5 weeks lmao
Yay
Long live the jumbo intro
I recorded it and I’m going to play at the beginning of every episode I watch
These are exactly the sorts of videos that I came to love your channel for! :) Keep on keeping on and merry christmas! :)
Resource needed for the main farm (without the cyan piston array):
64+8 sticky pistons,
2 pistons,
1 redstone block,
64+32 redstone dust,
17 repeaters,
4 redstone torches,
22 hoppers,
1 dispenser and 1 dropper,
8 single chests,
1 lever,
64+23 logs,
10 glass,
1 glowstone,
1 dirt,
2x64+58 Blocks (wool, iron and such)
32 slabs
Please like this comment so people can see it, it took me a while to get the exact ammount of materials
Thanks for the heads up!! Good to know if you are going into this in survival. I started off with slightly less than what I needed so it was a pain going to find more resources in the middle of the project.

I did this FOR sky block and i have it on it
billna billy how long did it take you to get it?
:P
Like 30mins to build and resources a few hours( on a server tho with an economy you could join its skyblock.org
billna billy I'm talking singleplayer here
Ik but still if ur single player u don't need it
I just build that thing this afternoon in 1.89 and it works perfectly. Thank you for the great design!
I find it funny how he used iron blocks. Did hermitcraft really have so many that Mumbo transferred them to his creative world?
lol. I think he actually uses them because they have outlines on the blocks, making it easier to visually count the number of blocks for tutorial purposes.
Rocky Raccoon
It used to be "the" redstone 'block' before taken by quartz
The challenge is launched! Mumbo YOU ARE AMAZING DUDE!
Thanks for this I like it a lot mumbo XD
This thing is a beast, one of the best builds on minecraft for a resource that everybody needs! Thanks Mumbo!
These are really awesome videos it would be nice if you put a check list like "what you need is 64x cobble, 6x water buckets etc . . . "
Jamhand123 scroll down much?
RocksterOne Sorry I didn't see that but I was just suggesting that instead of making someone else do the work maybe mumbo should take the time and include it in his description.

for anyone wondering, yes this still works in 1.8, 1.9, 1.10, 1.11, and 1.12.
what ru gonna cry? u gonna cry now? Your name
If only I had the patience for such a project, I love seeing the stuff regardless, it gives me ideas.
Make a series on all types of auto/semi- auto farms to make our mc life easier
why not a playlist
Future of Minecraftia Well let's be hard about it, why not a fully seperate channel???.....
I love your designs Mumbo! the different creations and how in depth you explain things is brilliant! Keep the videos coming!
your voice is amazing

hey i made a fix for this check out the video on my channel :) /watch?v=IkdVGE29GuI
20:20 listen to how mumbo says "extending". It's better at 0.5 speed xDD
U dirty bugger :D
Perfect
oh fuck XDDDDD
Hahaha
Just finished this in survival, couldn't be happier with the product!!
Just remember everyone to cap off the top so you don't get large oaks growing and messing with your system
make a gold farm for the next practical skills
Been following your channel since I saw your semi auto melon/pumpkin farm, you are one of my favorite redstoners keep it up !
I'll be using this to get the 1000+ doors for Tango's iron Titan :P
thats what im going to do too :P
NILLANist First i need to make a mob farm so i get bone meal, then i need to get a tree farm for doors to the iron farm xD
Funny thing is, I just found a skeleton spawner in my new world too lol
lol
Lol stole my post! jk haha yea Looks like a lot of us are building this for all those doors =p Its gonna help the rest of the server too with wood demand as well =)
It's always interesting on what people come up with, and it's also interesting how people can have different takes on the same thing, so of course your videos ARE interesting.
hey mumbo,
is it possible for you to add a list of resources? because as you mentioned it is a big project.
yeah listing resources is a good idea
*****
It is a bit on the late side (5 months late). But thanks. it will have taken some time to calculate all of that. So good job!
***** So... This resource count is totally incorrect...
GolldenFalcon
No, it is correct. It's just that I asked it 6 months ago and the answer came about more then 5 months after my question.
No, I just built it and those numbers were absurdly wrong, unless he was counting for the pistons that were 6 tall. I built it exactly how Mumbo did in the video, and the numbers were off by a stupid amount.
spent 3hrs gathering materials and it is absolutely worth it:D
604 likes vs 0 dislikes, wow that's great :)
Thanks Mumbo. I built your smaller one a couple months ago, and built this super farm in my new super castle. Fit very nicely.
Hey Mumbo, whilst reading the description of this video i noticed that you have spelt wood as in "Would." I hope you see this comment so that you can fix it asap. P.s. love the tree farm ;D
damn that's pretty anal bro
BronyBoy369
you said anal...hahaha
haha yeah
These are awesome, please make more! I especially love that it's clean and easy to see all the blocks the way you do these. Thank you!
Got to 20:56, tested: didn't work, tested for ages: still didn't work, gives up, watches rest of video: "Sorry about that these repeaters need to be set to 2 tic-"
me:"AAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!"
+Redstone Ninja LOL
:P
+Redstone Ninja happened to me too. I set the repeaters to 2 tic, but mine still freezes up every 3 trees
Guys although mumbo said in the description that the pistons only have to be 6 blocks high, if you do it that way your trees will only be 4 block tall trees. so just a heads up.
WHY IS HE SHOUTING
thats what i was thinking
EinsteinReplica WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING?
WHY AM I SHOUTING?
EinsteinReplica Hi Einstein.
EinsteinReplica Turn down the volume?
OMFG MY BRO JUST CAME AND BLEW THE WHOLE THING UP
4:46 Tutorial your welcome
4:45
I love this series, you should build a practical brewing station that automatically gives you potion ingredients
i dont get it at 8 mins in you put a msg on screen saying the repeaters should be on 2 tiks but then i look later in the video there still all set to 1 like how you placed them but your farm still works does that mean you don't actually need it on 2 tiks?
You need them on 2 ticks. read the description for all corrections :)
Thanks Mumbo [=
Mumbo Jumbo you don't need to ticks because I tried making one and I only put it to one tick!
*****im not sure if you understand but 1 tick for a repeater is the default setting, 2 for the one right click, 3 for two right clicks, 4 ticks for full setting.
SomeGuy i very much understand how a repeater works i don't think you understood my question but it's fine mumbo already answerd. i was just wondering because for example he placed one at 8:30 and left it on one tick after saying they should be on 2 ticks. there also seems to be annotations in the video now it seems to stop people from asking the same question as i did haha.
i love your tutorials they are easy to follow and i have learned a lot of redstone contraptions from you keep woorking you have done a great job
My only issue is the air spaces. its shooting my saplings everywhere and I cant get any to be collected. And tips?
+Chad MacLean (BulletRHLI) I just built this as well and have the same problem. The saplings go everywhere but into the hoppers. I'm starting to think I'm going to need to supplement this tree farm with another.
+Chad MacLean (BulletRHLI) Just place hopperts/water around the farm... so hen they get out, it SHOULD collect them.
+jbartl87 The changes to pistons in 1.9 means you need blocks on the leaf breaking pistons.
Not sure how to update this design, just know that's how it was fixed in a similar build.
+derram what do you mean? There are already blocks on the pistons.
i think the saplings keep flying away from the bug with piston where the head of it despawns for a sec. just like piston elevator where you put the player on the back end of the pistion it doing the same thing to the saplings and apples
Cool videos.
Helped me a lot, super efficient
Comfortable voice, you put things in a nutshell, you dont talk to much, its easy to follow, you build fast, you explain well
Perfect Video!!
list of supplies used would help those about to take on the project
yeah it would
but i did it without on a raiding server
yes you can do without but it takes up like an hour more time having to recollect the resources and I did this on skyblock thats how annoying it was having to go find more resources cause 1 or 2 blocks i didn have
how is this possible on skyblock, how is it possible to get redstone?
Robo tix On SMP there is always a shop. There is Redstone, iron, gold and basically eveything you can't get on skyblock but you can in vannilla minecraft
oh, but that kinda ruins the point of skyblock
Just built this in my world, works like a charm!!! thanks Mumbo! Beautiful! simply beautiful!
I was just about to build this when I suddenly noticed that I only had 17 iron left and nobody on my survival server knows any slime chunks!
You never cease to amaze me mumbo
Can u please do a materials list.
Thanks
Wow thx
hey man, great tutorials!
go watch his other version of this - ruclips.net/video/D67YrTG0SGM/видео.html with just a couple minor tweaks it works for 1.16.1.
I've built this farm on 6 different servers in the last 1.5 years. Absolutely unbreakable design, cheap on the resources, and heaps of back for the buck.
MUMBO i need help i was using the tree farm and something happened like it was working and then suddenly the bottem pistons to puch the wood away wont move and i rechecked everything and it is hooked up and the bottem 2 are just not working It is on a server that you can come help me out with if you want if you want the IP just message me
In the description you can find corrections to the redstone. Maybe this is your problem?
Where do i Look
In the description. Make the changes that Mumbo mentions there and it may fix your problem.
Nope i looked and did what it saids and still does not work
Gage Stavig The timing on the repeaters pushing the wood towards the collection area needs to be increased, whats happening is that the pistons to push the rest of the wood away is obstructing the path because its extending too soon so the bottom piston to remove the newly grown sapling doesn't extend
Mumbo I really enjoy your intro, it has a nice little song, classic shapes and colors. Your videos are also great, I love the tutorials and building projects. You're really awesome with Redstone, I'm quite jealous. I love the too small series, really big remodels of smaller ones, genius. but a thing you could do though is adding the ingredients needed for some of these how to
Jesus, how did you learn the redstone mechanics XD I barely understand how to link a piston to redstone and a lever.
Snoogen11 You practice, practice, practice :) My brother is a hardcore redstoner :)
i think if you alter this design a bit with the pistons and make it taller you can make this work with giant spruce trees
For anyone who needs it: in 1.19.2 the repeater which powers all the pistons need to be on four ticks; and the top tree-pushing piston needs a target block.
i have it on a 1.19.3 server, and it still works as it is.
I can't think of a way to make this not sound incredibly sarcastic- but yay for you!
Works perfectly on my server nesscraft, much appreciated Mumbo! This saves so much time.
If you want it to have a much bigger storage capacity for bonemeal, just replace the second from the top chest with a rail, break the half slab infront of it, stand next to the rail, then click on the rail with a storage minecart for however many chests you want it to be, this number can grow infinitely, but will impact your performance
Hey mumbo! :D Please don't stop making Practical Skills videos! Fucking luv those and they're amazing, best wishes!
Just built it! Was very time extensive but well worth it and a very fun build!
Well, I don't enjoy watching this, but I like the tutorials, you make it very clear what to do, so keep it going.
Your contraptions help me and my friends so much you are the best!
I tested this out in Minecraft 1.5.2 and it works perfectly, as usual! I love 1.7.x builds for that.
A final dimensions would be nice also, like "ends up this long, this wide and this tall" :)
Love your tutorials, just brilliant. Easy to follow & clear explanations/instructions!
A note for people tinkering with this: heightening this farm is not a good idea unless you plan to only use it for birch and jungle trees. Any tree that can grow branches runs the risk of damaging the tree chamber; the extra logs can easily build up and cause the leaf crushing pistons to shunt each other and their wiring out of place.
hey mumbo, I don't know how hard it would be, but for projects like this it would be cool if you had a list of all the items needed, so if your doing it in survival you can prepare and save up for it. love your videos thanks man
You're the best redstone creator you're the PRO
mumbo should continue doing this (not shouting) but practcal skills
.. chests.. hoppers.. doors crafting.. benches.. = almost endless :DD made my day
This is just incredibly stunning. I'd also adore an ice farm :)

made it today in survival, and it works like a charm. thanks for the tutorial.
I like these videos. Practical ones for survival are nice
Built it on my survival world on ps3.....its so good, iv used it to get 20 stacks of oak wood already and I love how it uses so little bonemeal 😀
Thanks dude!
I made exact copy of "Tree farm machine".
And that works like a CHARM!!!
Your works are great and useful,
Make more if you please.
THX
This works awesome, after I fixed all my repeater lane directions. thx
OH? put the roof on right above pistons or foliage clogs sky light and jams machine.
For everyone needing help with the list of resources, i've made my own list.
Your gonna need:
1 Lever.
22 Hopper's.
2 and a half stack of building blocks.
1 Block of redstone.
1 Dispenser.
16 pistons.
1 stack and 8 sticky pistons.
7 obsidian. (You can use furnaces.)
1 glowstone.
4 Redstone torches.
10 glass blocks.
1 dropper.
8 chest's
1 stack and 54 redstone dust.
32 slabs.
1 dirt
And that is the full list of resources your gonna need.
Ben Nobes Hey Ben, Do you think you would take a look at mine on ps4? I derped mine up some how.
Killer1337. Whenever you get a chance would be great. I have some other stuff I have been working on you might like also.
+Minecraft Minecraft sounds good
Yes i do enjoy them. Yes they are useful ... i impress my friends with your compact designs because my designs are kinda large to be honest. Keep up the good work mate.
This machine works extremely well.
