Hearts of Iron IV is a grand strategy wargame developed by Paradox Development Studio and published by Paradox Interactive. Released on June 6, 2016, it is the sequel to Hearts of Iron III and part of the Hearts of Iron series of grand strategy games focusing on World War II. The player may take control of any nation in the world in either 1936 or 1939 and lead them to victory or defeat against other countries.

My comment has been deleted🤕. For the future. You can rebuild your start-game cruisers in carriers. How to spot enemy's fleet ? Radars ( don't use lvl2 radars, they are as same as lvl1 radar ) and aviation ( aviation should have camera to spot ) ( or abuse AI and put 1 destroyer and bait him while second fleet group has a order " Find enemy's fleet " or something like that ( sry, i forget name of the order )).
If enemy has an order " don't join battles " or he's just sit at the base, use dive bombers. But basically if he has this order you can do naval invasion ( don't forget to put " always join the battle " ) cause enemy hasn't advantage ( due to order " don't join battles " ).

Basically what china is doing rn
He kinda tried to build a navy they built a heavy cruiser and was successful in bascially scaring off a small Japanese taskforce, but then they had to scuttle them at the mouth of the river to prevent the Japanese navy entering the river ways and capture their ships.
Based alternate timeline where Chiang is the Admiralissimo of China
I’m sure this would’ve done wonders for the Japanese Army-Navy rivalry.

@@abokadohoi4I don't know if you will see this, but, if you get the continuous bonus (in the focus tree) "Naval Production" or something like that, if you toggle it on, off and on you will get 2 bonuses, I don't know if this has been fixed but it would be cool for you to try.
I mean the Qing navy was a real threat in the first Sino Japanese war. Well, up until it was destroyed.

Torpedo= good
Light cruisers dunk on destroyers, destroyers dunk on capital ships, capital ships dunk on light cruisers.
Caveat, destroyers can't dunk on capital ships until the enemy screen (consisting of light cruisers and destroyers) is neutralized.
Naval bombers, including those from carriers, also dunk on other capital ships.

@@rarescevei8268 Heavy cruisers are like cheap battleships. They do well against light cruisers, get torpedoed by destroyers if they don't have a good screen, but heavy cruisers can't stand up to battleships.
Battlecruisers are more like battleships but they are more vulnerable in general because of less armor.
Submarines are good at torpedoing capital ships and convoys, but they can't destroy anything else, so they get killed by destroyers really easily.
Convoy raiding is generally a task for submarines unless you have total naval dominance, in which case you can use heavy cruisers, battlecruisers, or battleships.
Convoy escort is a task for destroyers, mainly.
Strike force is a task for big fleets containing lots of destroyers, light cruisers, and capital ships.
Naval invasion support is for bombarding enemy shores to weaken their army forces, so only capital ships (but not carriers) are good for that, though light cruisers are ok in this role.
I always turn the whole chinese coast into dockyards when i play china. When you do so, china can become a naval superpower. I had over 1000 ships as qing, most of them built by me and it included plenty of carriers, battleships and crusiers
In my recent communist china game, i took down the allies in 1954-5 using an army of amtracs. Though i did need the japanese fleet to compliment my own.

Probably, just find two countries you wanna fight, and puppet one of them next to the border of the other if you need supply
@@abokadohoi4 As Japan, I puppeted Sinkiang in Kashgar to attack Afghanistan, Tibet in the west to fight the Raj, Yunnan in the west for the same reason, and then the other China's all puppeted in the north to fight the Comintern. I believe you can puppet regular China and Communist China anywhere, even in states they didn't own when you capitulated the faction, so long as they core the states you want to puppet each of them in. And of course, those two core all of China, so can puppet Shanxi in the same state you did in this video, Ma in, I think it's Ningxia? In the far northern desert of Ma, and puppet both China and Communist China in northern and western Sinkiang to go alone with the actual Sinkiang puppet in Kashgar.
In addition, you can get useful free supply hubs by puppeting Indochina, Thailand, Burma, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, the Central Asian stans, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, etc. with this trick. Even South America and of course Africa.
It mainly doesn't do much in Europe because there are so many supply hubs everywhere anyways (maybe puppeting Hungary in the east and a Banat puppet can help attack Romania or something, maybe a Tyrol puppet to hold the alps, a carpathoukraine puppet could be useful?). It also doesn't do much in North America since by the time you can set up any puppets in North America, there's no big enemies to fight there anymore.
Using the trick in Africa and South America, while possible, begs the question of why? Why fight in those places?
So yeah, the most useful places to use this trick would be Northern China to fight the Soviets, Southwestern China and Indochina to fight the Raj, along with Afghanistan in Herat and Iran and Azerbaijan in northwest Iran, also to help fight the Soviets.
this video has been a better naval tutorial about the navy of this game than navy tutorial made by so called "pro player" XD

@@abokadohoi4 yea no you showed everything so now i'm pretty much aware of what's happening in a naval battle (seriously before i refused to engage with the navy and just spammed out naval bomber XD)
Imagine being an American admiral preparing your fleet to fight the Imperial Japanese Navy, only to find out its already been sunk by Chinese screens
i have almost 3000 hours in this game and I have very little idea of what's going on with navy. i can only spam sumbarines, so videos like this are like a breath of fresh air because I never see anything like that happening

edit: for a bit of context, the Japanese government was pretty much ruled by the navy and the army up until they got nuked. Then came the big man MacArthur who became the emperor of Japan for a few years. Hence, why you have the options for prioritising which branch of the military as an option when you play as Japan.
