It’s disappointing to see “car guys” focus so much on splitting hairs regarding dyno numbers. If you were true enthusiasts, you’d know that dyno numbers change day to day, very dependent on weather, proper cooling/air flow, elevation, sae correction factor the tuner uses, type of dyno, calibration, etc. Who cares about 20-30 hp discrepancies, they could very well just be a result of any of the factors listed above, and this is a fantastic car through and through in any case. Even more disappointing, talking about the dyno numbers on a car that was engineered to do so much more than just going fast in a straight line smdh

I use to sell these they are deceptively fast for stock 505hp. It feels like its floating when you smash it in 2nd gear stock. Modded like this one is its blazing fast. Love my 2009 Z06 CORVETTE...I RECENTLY started looking into headers and possibly a cam....really interested to see what this car puts down on the dyno. I recently put my on a dynojet and it put down 457 rwhp bone stock.

This car is a LOT of fun. Set it up right and it's perfect on the street, on the track, in the backroads... tons of trunk space. I've had a lot of high performance import sports cars, and this one is just as good if not better
I picked up almost the same exact car late last year (although mine is an 2008 w/ 58k) to leave down in FL. When summer came around I decided take it back up north with me as I couldn’t imagine not having access to it. I love the damn thing. I stole the car for under $25k, best money I’ve ever spent. Just picked up headers and plan on doing H/C this fall. Amazing car and value!
I've had my 2009 Z06 since new...it now has 45,000 miles and no problems...had the vavle tolerances checked at 38k and all was good. This is a great car and not all of them have the valve issue.
@@fuel_magazine I'm Covette guy myself and while it's nice to know you never had the issue, you'd be a fool to not ever have it checked. That's how much of a problem it was unfortunately. Companies live and learn....Corvette team has come a long way.

Beautiful car. Sounds awesome. Plus C6 has a lot, and I mean A LOT, more room inside than a C7. As the C8 start hitting the streets, C6 price will come down. Nice car Bud
C8 will have absolutely no impact on the C6. The C6 has already experienced the vast majority of its depreciation. The only thing that will really affect a C6's value is mileage.
Try and get your hands on an 08’ or newer C6 with the (LS3) base with a supercharger for 30-35kish 40 if it’s got a lot done...These weigh in about 1200lbs less than a challenger so there’s that 🤷🏻♂️ Edit: unless it’s been done you’re going to have to redo the heads...all C6 Z’s drop a valve or will it’s a ticking time bomb but once fixed there unbeatable
Was.about to get a Z06, but I was too afraid to pull the trigger due to some of the LS7 dropping the valves. Ended buying an SRT Jeep this past week. My favorite Z06 has always been the C6 and still is.
It's a shame that chevy built a glass motor for this car. A few of my friends either dropped valves on theirs, or started finding pieces of aluminum while doing oil changes ,,, These cars are gorgeous but the engines were junk
@@UScarsarethebest anything but Junk. You should read up on the engine's architecture. Unfortunately there's slop in "some" of the heads valve guides. Find a lower mileage car and repair the heads, if the seller hasn't done the work already. Otherwise offer the amount less to do the work.
@@charlest5349 I saw the architecture first hand when two of my friends blew their STOCK engines up in front of my very eyes. It was named the glass motor in my area after that. No, thank you, I'd rather have a LS3 which is a much more reliable engine than the LS7.

SpeedLife301 because I think stock was putting about 470ish to the wheel
moescolla bone stock they put down 430-440whp stock 410-417 wtq stock
I’ve seen from 440 to 475ish rwhp stock.
SpeedLife301 Motor Trend got 470hp from there’s
Lol at 12:45 u was well over 120 and it was still pulling, great video Stephen keep up the good work
dondi dean he finished at about 125-130
It will pull all the way to the end but I chickened out at around 165. I believe it when people say there are no athiests past 140mph...:)
I own one man and it feels like a dream....its that good.
I plan on getting one do you still have it
@@sknfjuebc oh yea
I love this car, sold mine 5 years ago and want another one. That ls7 is beautiful
The C6 ZO6 is a true missle
Corvette It’s a beautiful car man 👍👍
That c6 brought out the kid in you😂👍.. love that sound!!
The LS7 is awesome biggest most powerful naturally aspirated small block ever when it debuted in 06 🇺🇸💪
Really good Video Stef. This feels like that original MOD2FAME action. This is is what I appreciate, where you can review and Big Up the car.....without putting down other cars to do it. Good Stuff Bro.
Hey brother, I have a 2008 zo6. .black on black. It's bone stock, but it's a beast none the less. I love this video. Thanks for review! ! Now I'm going to mod it out! !!
Kevin Fernandez I have the same (with C7Z wheels), I love the car! Starting to do mods now. Sounds amazing, but looking forward to getting the H/C done this fall!
@@ssoffshore5111 yeah I plan do do the same. I can't wait!
@@ssoffshore5111 You will love it!!!! I do..:)
Check that blue smoke when revving
I noticed that...might as well be dollar bills flying out of that exhaust! Pretty bad for only 20k miles!
I have an 07 C6Z made 590 to the wheels down at RPM. fun car thats for sure. made me a believer about NA power.
Currently have a GT350, looking to sell and snag a C6 Z06 with cam, heads, headers, exhaust and super clean. Pretty much a straight trade. Thoughts?
I dig my 2008 C6Zo6 mine is blacked out as well with C7Z rims staggered. Mine is a LSX 430 H/C/I 591whp n 530trq. Fully built they are fun cars. Paid $38k but came very highly modded. Look up the Punnisher C6Z that is my car now much better set up now.
Wai, wai, wai, wai, WAIT !!!!
First of all - liked, subscribed (wanna c dyno and track test!!!!), shared to my bro in SA/TX and hited the notification button man!!!!!!
THIS is a BEAST, this is a tremendous, hilarious awesome gorgeous MONSTER!!!!
You loved it always the C6 Z06??? Same me bro, same me!!!!!
Live the video - go on don‘t stop👍💪🏼
Best looking Corvette ever.
Till this Day I love this model, can’t get enough of those rear tail lights man. But 40k? Mine as well get the zR1 45k 2010
I agree besides the new c8 definitely has to be the most attractive model... the big pet peeve I have with the c7 is the rear light design it's terrible... this camaro rear light fixtures on the c8 are phenomenal...
True but it's built and only has 20k miles on it! You can find 'em for around $25 but remember the valve issues!
Where are you finding a ZR1 for 45k? You can't even touch a 2009 z06 for under 40k around the Midwest unless its well above 20k miles, like well above.
@@theinsaneone911 I rarely see them below 60k.
Whatever you do make sure you change the heads. It will save you 14000
Even the my heart Mopar but got to love that Chevy Rawh zoom zoom
The Corvette bandwagon jumping is alive and well. Lol
Lol
Hahaha lol can you blame them, that C8 has shake things enormously in the car industry
Always wanted one I always thought C-6’s were bad ass looking I’d rather have. C-7 though
@Decomposing Mongoose idiot 🤓
SyphonX honestly he’s not it’s not really smart to buy the first year model of any new body style no matter how much testing went into the platform there can still be issues and recalls with that being said if the car is being released in 2020 buy a 2021 save yourself a headache 🤕
I use to sell these they are deceptively fast for stock 505hp. It feels like its floating when you smash it in 2nd gear stock. Modded like this one is its blazing fast. Ive seen some 30k or less with some miles. Its alot of car and modding it is easy. Stock shifter to me was not great alot of the aftermarket shifter are notchy.
Stock 505HP underrated, actually closer to 530HP at 6000rpms and 490tq at 4500rpms.
This my favorite car so far so Good great content
Still drive my C6 like a teenager with all the mods
Love my 2009 Z06 CORVETTE...I RECENTLY started looking into headers and possibly a cam....really interested to see what this car puts down on the dyno. I recently put my on a dynojet and it put down 457 rwhp bone stock.
They have a big variance in hp/torque from one to another and be warned, different dynos give wildly different figures..:( I did heads/cam/exhaust and tune and I'm right around 510hp on 2 different dynos. Big fun...:)
This car is a LOT of fun. Set it up right and it's perfect on the street, on the track, in the backroads... tons of trunk space. I've had a lot of high performance import sports cars, and this one is just as good if not better
This still is my fav corvette in recent years outside of the C8. By the way I love the channel. Keep working!
Spend 10k for a nicely done heads and cam package along with a twin disc clutch and you'll make like 600 to 630rwhp. That car will fly
If it wasn't dropping valves this would be easily one of the hottest used cars on the market.
@@01CorvetteZO6 if you read my post I stated that it was checked at 38k miles. Not a fool by any means.
@@fuel_magazine where I said "you'd" I should've put "one" as i meant it being 3rd person. I understood you getting yours checked. Saying again anybody would be a fool not to knowing that's prevalent problem
@@01CorvetteZO6 it seems like some cars are ok and others aren't. Weird. I plan on having lingenfelter or someone else do my heads over the winter just for piece of mind. 👍👍
I have a c5 all modified bro my next one will be a c6 ZO6 a lot of bang for the buck 💯🇱🇷😷✌️
Are you still planning on getting it
I really like the exhaust note. VROOOM!!
I've always loved the Vette! Since I was a kid in the 70s, during the decade of the muscle car!
My 2016 stingray is a beast especially since I added a super charge!! I love my baby
Best sports car at any price range if you ask me.
I would take a c6 over a c7. Love them taillights
Try and get your hands on an 08’ or newer C6 with the (LS3) base with a supercharger for 30-35kish 40 if it’s got a lot done...These weigh in about 1200lbs less than a challenger so there’s that 🤷🏻♂️
Edit: unless it’s been done you’re going to have to redo the heads...all C6 Z’s drop a valve or will it’s a ticking time bomb but once fixed there unbeatable
Here from 2020. Looking to get one who thinks I should. is it worth it?
The blue smoke it makes is awesome LOL No extra charge and under 20,000 miles
Great video & review,s couple times almost felt like I was riding along!!!
The c5 z06 had many many exterior differences. You didn’t mention the brake ducts or the FRC body
C6 Z06/ZR1 hands down the best Corvettes made to date
Classic 🔥🔥🔥 I like that 09’ Still ♥️👀🤩🔥🔥🔥
So for the c6 zo6, are we gonna use a 5.7L v8 or a 6.2L v8
Or a 7.0L v8
The C7 already hit the street..you mean C8 in 2020 :) 👍🏾
Crazy nice vette. Keep bringing us this good shit bro. M2Fer fo sho!!💪💪💯💯🔥🔥
Mine. I’m getting one this summer. My favorite model. I love her curves
Did you get one?
In black!!! Beautiful!
Sexy AND 7.0 liter!
1/4 mile in UNDER 11 secs
This is the Z06 to have
Clean, later year versions are going to be $40k+... sub $30k are going to be beat ... but everyone on RUclips is an expert
C5 and C6 Z06s are my favorite. They the 1st ZR1
Dam Step you had lost me with the dodge, but now you talking my language, great video love the better.
Was.about to get a Z06, but I was too afraid to pull the trigger due to some of the LS7 dropping the valves. Ended buying an SRT Jeep this past week. My favorite Z06 has always been the C6 and still is.
Just do the heads and rev with security.
It sounds like a charging rhino! Would love to own one some day
