  • McDonalds training film from 1977, showing staff the new campaign, and a programme to get themselves little pins! Date on the head of the film is 27/4/77, and the campaign is mentioned as beginning in the last week of July so this would have been shown to employees in May or June.
    Sorry about the wandering green scratch, it's on the emulsion side which means that part of the picture has actually been scratched away and is now gone forever, replaced by a fizzy green line. Trust me, it's way better here than on my projector!

    This isn't a training film but something to pump up and inform franchisees

    • @russellgrimes3491
      @russellgrimes3491 2 года назад

      Yeah, after this little bit of propaganda the franchisees were feeling smug, believing ever more strongly in their superiority over their employees, in their ability to manipulate and control for their own benefit, watching with a smirk as the employees busted their asses for a gold pin, a pin that might help the franchisee get a luxury vehicle and a blowjob from sexy Tina down the block

      Rather than deliver actual quality, they had a plan to fool people into thinking it was quality.

    The girl at 5:58 is actress Anne Lockhart, most notably known from the original Battlestar Galactica! I suspect this was made a few years before '77, judging on her appearance and the fashions.

      @@duckbrew No, that's not true.. Bill Quigley died ON the street, back in July of 1977, after getting struck down by a Cadillac Eldorado driven by the owner of the local Wendy's who was outraged at Bill's disloyalty. And it was HIM who died in 1981 of heart failure, after the judge sentenced him the year before to eat only quarter pounders for a year. He almost made it, but then he saw a rerun of the Bill Quigley commercial on his black and white television, and it put him over the top. His heart just couldn't take all that stress.
      Sad story all around. 😔 😢

      Austin has a ton of great local burger places, so I rarely go to McDonalds. I went the other day, and the burgers were dogshit. The fries were still good. The service was terrible. The guy at the counter was talking to a friend on his phone, and the conversation went on for a minute before he even acknowledged me. They could teach a masterclass on how to ensure a customer would never, ever come back.

    • @MK-fc2hn
      @MK-fc2hn Год назад

      It was a subliminal message.. back in the 70's they did things like that to reinforce the message they were trying to convey. He was talking about quality, and many people back in the 70's would have associated a luxury Lincoln with "quality". So the hope is that when the viewer watched him get into the car, they'd associate McDonald's with the same quality their mind was subconsciously observing.
